This time of turmoil and sickness brings chaos to the land, even more with the threat from the rising from East…

With the king day, ambitions rise. Play the Game of Thrones, work your way, rule the kingdom or serve the babe. Remember In the Game of Thrones, there is no middle ground, you win or you die.

This Role Play will be set in King's Landing, the capital of Westeros. You may play your part no matter the size or nobility, as it is a time of chaos.

~~~
Some Background Information
The Spring Sickness is an unknown sickness that affects most of Westeros. A man may wake up healthy and die by the evening. There is no cure for this so far
When the Throne room was shut and the blood bath began, the dragons seem to have sensed it. King's Aerys dragon Vermithor burst out of the Dragon pit and flew straight into the throne room breaking past the door. It is said that the Dragon was mad seeing the dead body of its master, it burned the everybody till all that was left was just smoke as ashes.
Ser Aeden
"If it isn't a problem with you, Lucius and I agreed that we would rather test these warriors on the field of battle before having them close to our Prince... So what about this; for the final event, the champions will need to work together to defeat both Lucius and I in combat." He suggested quietly. "Then we will judge their honor."
"Excellent plan Ser Aeden, you have my leave to enter the Tourney. I don't doubt both your battle skills. But be sure to escort the Prince from the Keep first."
"Of course." He nodded, then looked towards the Red Keep. "You'll have your most trusted men guarding him for this, correct?" Aeden asked, glancing back towards Lord Connington.
"Yes." Jacaerys said, thinking "After this day you will called Lord Aeden" he stood next to the knight "Lord Commander of the Kingsguard"
The man glanced at his Lord, before nodding ever so slightly. "... I need to tell you this, for the sake of understanding... I never asked for any of this. In all honesty, a Kingsguard wasn't at all what I wanted for my life... I guess our lives never truly are in our own hands..." The Knight trailed off. "I will do my duty, for the realm and my family."
"Understood." He said quietly, turning for the Red Keep. "Give the Lannisters my regards..." He said before starting off for the Prince.
Lord Jacaerys
Jacaerys continued waiting, till he saw the banners. Red and White griffins, on their oppose field in combat. He smiled seeing the fiery red of his family. His sister, Lady Alys Connington, his brothers, Ser Ronald Connington and Ser Ronnet Connington. To his surprise, House Velayron was riding along side them with his cousins.
"Sister" he greeted her with a hug and kiss "Your beauty is a sight to see in my troubled times"
"I see what a fierce beard you've grown." she answered smiling. It was true, Jacaerys never shaved since he heard. He thought it would make him look more...lordly.
"Jack" both his brothers announce. Jacaerys frowned slightly, his nickname was an annoyance to him in his youth. But he still smiled.
"My brothers, it is good to see both of you. You two have grown quite well"
"We received your raven, brother. Mayhaps you will show your loot" Ronald asked. Jacaerys had to laugh and with a quick motion his unsheathe his new blade, Griffin Roar. It was a foot-and-a-half. A Bastard sword it was called. The sword rippled Red and White, caused by an unsuccessful attempt to colour the blade but it represents House Connington well.
"Valyrian Steel, I named it Griffin Roar"
"You must tell us what happened"
"Another time"
The bell rang once.
"The Prince is arriving, please seat and watch the Tourney, sister. My brother knights, I suppose you will be participating in the Tourney. I wish you both the best of luck."
His sister seat down with the ladies of Griffin Roost. Jacaerys took a moment to greet his cousins before they left to join the Tourney.
Before Jacaerys sat down, a boy was standing in front of him.
"And who are you boy?" he asked.
The boy looked at Lady Alys before looking back at Jacaerys.
"I-I'm your new squire, Lord Regent." he answered kneeling.
"Oh stand up boy! I'm not the King" he told the boy lifting him "Did Lady Alys sent you?"
"Yes Y-Y-My Lord" The boy was afraid, but he looked capable. Jacaerys looked at his eyes and saw purple, with battles his coppery skin and dark mane he had.
"You're from Essos"
The boy nodded.
"Stand here" he told the boy, gesturing behind his seat. "I will call when I need you" Finally Jacaerys sat and glanced at his sister who merely gave him a mischievous smile" A Squire.... Jacaerys had no time for that now.
And the doors of the Red Keep opened.
"Right this way, young Master." The Knight spoke softly to the boy, before putting on his golden helmet. Lucius and Aeden were both standing on opposite sides of the young prince, followed by a company of six armed city watchmen.
"Do you think I will be able to joust and fight in a tourney one day?" The Prince asked, before glancing up at the Knight. "Aeden...?"
The man lowered himself slightly as they walked. "I have no doubt, but for now, you will have Knights to represent you in your stead."
"Like who?" The boy inquired, continuing to ask away, even though the various people could see.
"Lucius and I, we will be challenging the champions in a final melee, but that's enough for now, Young Master, for you must take your seat..."
Lord Jacaerys
Jacaerys smiled as he watch the Prince walked down to sit beside him.
"Well done" he whispered "Now you must address the people"
The Prince stood up, dressed in Black and Red with his sigil upon his torso. He steadied himself before speaking.
"I am Prince Aelor II Targaryen, son of Maekar Targaryen." he started, trying hard to reach everyone's ears, but he was doing well for a young lad. "Today we shall have a Tourney, a Tourney to elect new knights for the Kingsguard. I wish you all the best of luck" The boy than sat down.
Jacaerys then stood "Let this day also be the celebration of our pass King Aerys. He lived well and gave us peace. Let the victories achieve today be in his name. And let the Tourney begin!" Jacaerys roared his voice to let them all hear.
He smiled at the young boy. "You will be a great King one day my Prince."
(Now you may begin your glory Ser Aeden)
The Tourney began with a joust. Ser Marq Piper stirred his stead onto Ser Locke Cobray. Cobray slammed his shield at Piper's spear and struck him at the chest causing the Knight to fly off his horse. Marq Piper landed with the clanking of metal. Ser Locke Cobray wins.
The Young Man stoo beside the Prince, with Lucius on his right. Aeden couldn't help but feel the tension inside him rise as he watched the Knights joust. Back in Castamere, Aeden had always preferred the melee over the Joust or Archery. A fact that his father often exploited to fame his son.
"Ah, Ser Byron Sand, a bastard from House Dayne. He is skilled in the spear" Jacaerys told the Knights and the Prince.
Ser Byron rode his house in impressive speed. He thrust his spear and seem to miss, but the other knight fell off. Byron cut his slash.
"The whispers are true, what do you think Aeden?"
The young knight Lan sat astride the massive stallion, whoo stood calmly in wait, the pair watching the more well known knights as they jousted. Lan was waiting, for a short while, until told to join in what could be perceived as a bunch of macho chaos. And many of the men looked upon Lan as an intferior, for the youngster was tiny in complarison to everyone else, though the Martell's mount towered over any other.
Ser Lucius
It was the Kingsguard's turn to joust, perhaps for the first time in nearly a decade. "Ser Lucius of House Tully, pitted against Ser Lan of House Martell." The speaker mentioned, before sitting back down. In the moment folowing, both knights began the charge, lances shouldered and ready for impact.
over a year ago PungoBliss said…
Lan held the stallion firmly in one hand, the beast straining slighty at the bit as the two riders met, and Lan made a low sound of discomfort as the shield was wrenched from where it was firmly placed on arm. The youngster's own weapon missed the Kingsguard completely.
The Knight willed his horse to turn, ready for the next charge as the other received his sheild. "Take two, begin." The sponsor said, just before the Knights once again charged at one another.
Lan smirked under the old helm as the lance smashed agaimst the Kingsguard's shield, though the man stayed firmly seated.
Ser Lucius
Lucius cursed as he dropped the shield, feeling a large shard of wood stuck in his shoulder. "Hit, Ser Lan Martell." The Knight then groaned as his horse turned for the last charge. "No, I'm seeing this through."The Knight said to the medics that came over to him, to their reluctance they moved back to the side lines. He then began his last charge, barely able to hold his shield with the wound.
The young knight leaned slightly into the charge, and smiled when the tip of the long lance hit the knight's shield perfectly in the center, with incredible force.
The Knight landed with a terrible thud, his shoulder instantly becoming flooded with blood. Aeden leaned forward and pointed towards the Maesters. "Get out there!" He called in rage towards the incident. One of his own was in danger and the Knight who had done the deed still rode with pride. Aeden cursed and stepped away from the stands, walking out on the field to tend to his friend. "Lucius, talk to me..."
"...Ah, he got me pretty good huh?" The man chuckled with a wince, before the Maesters took him off the field.
Lan turned the horse away, watching the kings guard and the servants. The other man had no right to be angry, In Lan's eyes. The joust had been fair, and the young knight had simply been the better at staying in the saddle.
The Knight watched as his friend was taken away, unable to do anything but stand there, in the center of the Jousting field. The crowd had fallen silent, whilst enjoying the spectacle... A Knight of the Kingsguard being bested by a Martell. Aeden shuddered at the thought, then glanced towards the Knight still mounted. He then began after the smaller horseman, striding across the field in a quickened manner.
"What is your name?" He spoke surprisingly calm for his present state of mind.
Jacaerys watched as Lucius fell then set his eye on Lan Martell.
"Will Ser Lucuis be alright?" The Prince ask
"Of course Aelor, the maestars will fix him up well. He wouldn't be a Kingsguard if he can't handle that"
Jacaerys answered than called for his squire whispering instructions and the Squire left.
Lan Martell.... Maybe he would stay to be with his brother at King's Landing
Lan looked down at the older knight with some disdain. The youngster would not speak, if the Kingsguard wanted to know the Martell's name, he had other means of finding out. The horse snorted softy as he as turned away, moving patiently back to where they woud await the next round of competition.
