This time of turmoil and sickness brings chaos to the land, even more with the threat from the rising from East…

Some Background Information

The Spring Sickness is an unknown sickness that affects most of Westeros. A man may wake up healthy and die by the evening. There is no cure for this so far

When the Throne room was shut and the blood bath began, the dragons seem to have sensed it. King's Aerys dragon Vermithor burst out of the Dragon pit and flew straight into the throne room breaking past the door. It is said that the Dragon was mad seeing the dead body of its master, it burned the everybody till all that was left was just smoke as ashes.

"Oh I have many of friends, this one, I can't seem to place..." Gwel murmured, looking the Dornishman up and down. "Are you a warrior then? A beetle that we flip over?"

Savos Sand

Savos looked at the man with a slightly confused look "I suppose I am a warrior, as you are"

The Regent

Nearing the gate, archers manned the wall, looking at the party approaching.
"Halt" they said. Out came a rider, bearing the sigil of House Baratheon. Before he spoke, Lord Connington raised his hand.
"Your King, Aelor Targaryen, First of his name is here to meet with his Lord Paramount of the Stormlands."
The rider, tried to speak, but he thought otherwise and rode back in.

Soon, they made their way to the hall of Lord Lyonel Baratheon. The Laughing Storm they called him, Jacearys was at the tourney where he got him name.

The Lord sat on the old Storm throne. His face solemn. The other times Jacearys have met him, Lyonel was always good company.

The hall was filled with men. Looks like some of the other Lords of Stormlands and more. Lord Connington suspects that some of them were Blackfyre emissary, sent to keep the Baratheons of their side. To his surprise, his cousin Ronnet was there.

"Why have you come here, with your might, Lord Connington?" Lyonel spoke.

"This is not a siege, my Lord. Is it wrong for you to host, your King?" Jace answered, stepping aside to show King Aelor to the entire hall.

The Young boy took a few steps forward, forcing a confident face about himself. "My Lord Baratheon." Aelor nodded, before glancing back at Jace as he did not know what more to say.

"The Exiled Prince himself... What a treat you have in your hall." A voice crept from behind them, and before them was well polished helm of the golden company. "My Lord, I need not remind you of the hefty bounty our King has placed on this lot, you'd be a far wealthier man to take the initiative." The man smiled as he walked past, moving up to the throne's steps.

Lord Regent

He eyed the man that appeared, "Have you already turned your cloak, my Lord Lyonel?"
The threat was real though, even if this weren't a siege, their party was not giving guest rights, but Lord Lyonel was not that kind of man. The others in the room however...

The Blackfyre supporter scoffed, "oh please, spare our lord this jest. This is no King, this boy..." He spat, pointing a looming finger at the white-haired dragon.

"My name is Aelor Targaryen, I may be a boy, but I am the rightful heir to the Iron throne." His majesty told the man in a fit of anger, the moment sweeping him up. The boy blinked for a moment as the robbed man stood quietly, clearly surprised by what he had been told.

"... My Lord of Baratheon. I need not remind you, if you are not with us you will be against us in the war to come. I trust you will chose the right side." The man spoke in an even tone, far more tempered than he had. With that, the Blackfyre Emissary bowed to the Lord, then to the three he had spoken against and taken his leave.

"I am well aware" He spoke, irritated. "Ser Henry Peake is here as a representative for Lord Aegor"

"King Haegon" a lord in the hall spoken.
"False King!"

Soon the hall was drowned in shouting. Then the thunderous shout from their Lord silence them. Jacearys noticed Ormund Baratheon shuffle in from the back, to sit next to his father.

"Didn't your son and heir fought for the right to lay down his life for our King here" The Regent spoke

The Stag Knight took a step forward to his father, "aye. I'd do it again." He spoke boldly before his father, bowing to the young king beside him. "My Lord Father, I faught for fun, no glory, or white cloak. Aye I faught for me, and you would've all done the same!" He grinned as he waved a gauntleted hand about. The man then went back to stand with the Household guard, a smirk stricken about his face.

Lyonel Baratheon

"As crude as he may be, he has a point" He said, standing, "You want the might of Storms' End to fight for you. Show me your steel, a duel with my son, to determine our allegiance"

The lords in the hall started to bicker. Lyonel shouted again "It has been decided! By the hour we will meet in the courtyard."

Lord Regent

He brought his party out, to the a room where Lord Lyonel had given them. The two other knights stood to greet them.

"How fares the negotiating?" Lucius asked.

Edric Dayne laid Dawn down, "There will be a fight by the hour"

Aelor went to his three kingsguard. "You three are my finest warriors... It seems fitting one of you would be my champion." The boy king spoke softly, his eyes meeting each of theirs.

"My King, as acting-Lord Commander of the Kingsguard, I would fight as your champion." Lucius volunteered himself."

"I cannot risk that, Lucius, you were the Kingsguard of my father, and you represent the Targaryen Dynasty." Aelor told his Knight with a smile, his gaze finding Ser Duncan. "Ser Duncan the Tall, you were there at the tourney of the Kingsguard. I remember you beating Ser Ormund in the joust... If you believe you can best him now, with sword in hand... I would ask you to be my champion."

An hour later, in the courtyard of Storm's End

The Lord Baratheon sat above the courtyard, with his guards. His lady wife sat next to him with his other children.
A makeshift arena was formed at the courtyard. Lords that were on opposing sides stood facing one another.
Jacearys and his part stood before Lord Lyonel, his son and Duncan were in the arena.
~
Duncan
He flexed his fingers on the hilt. Ormund's helm was mighty, with its antlers compared to the plain white of Dunk's armour. Ormund had a strong arm, Dunk remembered from the joust. But the Tall believes he is stronger. His height and built would be his advantages.

He needed to win, for the young King. And he will.

The Baratheon Knight smiled beneath his helm, before lowering the visor. "Shall we, Kingsguard?" Ormund asked, his sword held level with his shield.
over a year ago Blaze_of_Ares said…
Duncan began with a slash towards the Storm Knight, ready to block with his shield. Or if things go wrong, use it to bash Ormund.

The Noble Stag back-stepped with a quick shield parry. He watched his opponent's movements, keeping in mind how he had won their last duel. For the Stag, this was more than a fight, this was his House's honor at stake.
over a year ago Blaze_of_Ares said…
Dunk continued driving his shield forward. Being aggressive and trying to swing his sword around Ormund's shield.
over a year ago Rogue475 said…
Ormund kept tight as the Kingsguard advanced, keeping his shield close to center mass. After a moment, the Knight saw his opening, as Duncan struck the shield, Ormund thrusted the wooden mass, pushing the Knight back. The Stag then advanced, plunging his blade against the mail at Duncan's shoulder.
over a year ago Blaze_of_Ares said…
Dunk quickly parried the sword away, stepping back. He raised his shield to under his eyes, lowering his body for it to cover as much of his tall figure. He used his sword to beckon Ormund to attack.

Jacearys

He watched the fight. The two were great warriors. Hopefully the gods will give Duncan their light for this duel. His attention turns to a couple of Lords who were around the Blackfyre ambassador. They weren't watching the fight like their counterpart who were rooting for the common Kingsguard. Jace had a feeling that despite of the duel's outcome, the situation may be more dire. He warned the other Kingsguard to be more vigilant, as this duel is the perfect distraction. Jace instinctively pull the King closer to him, without alerting the young Targaryen.

Lucius drew his dirk at his Lord's command, keeping it held low and unnoticed as the spectacle raged on. The two warriors fight before the crowd were a song of steel. Each blow was a tidal wave against an impenetrable castle.

The Stag drew back as another volley of strikes struck at his shield and plate armor. "I can do this all day!" He shouted, using the pommel of his sword to pry the man's shield downward. With that quick motion, Ormund struck the Kingsguard with a shield bash to the helm.
over a year ago Blaze_of_Ares said…
Dunk shook the hit off. He stepped back, readying himself. Duncan the Tall charged the Storm Knight. He put all his weight into a shield bash that shocked Ormund. At that moment, Dunk kicked the legs from under the Baratheon. He kept his feet on Ormund's sword hand and the tip on his sword to the Knight's neck.

"I do not have all day, Ser Ormund"

Lord Lyonel laughed at the move Dunk did. As loud as thunder. Giving his credit to his name, The Laughing Storm. The Lord stood up and beckon Dunk to step back.

"You have won, Ser Kingsguard. What is your name?"

"Ser Duncan, the Tall, my lord"

"Well done, Ser Duncan"

Dunk helped Ser Ormund up.
~
Jacearys

He felt relieved that Dunk won, it was a great way to win Lord Lyonel's favour. He looked towards the Blackfyre supporters. He saw his cousin slipping away. Jace wanted a word with him. Then suddenly an arrow flew by.

"Defend the King!" The Regent pulled Aelor behind him, taking out Griffin's Roar.
over a year ago Rogue475 said…
A biting snap sounded as an arrow planted itself into Lucius' left shoulder, thankfully not his sword arm. He roared in pain, removing the arrow as he advanced. Each of the Kingsguard drew their blades as the command came out, each of them prepared to lose their lives if it meant the boy should live. "This way." Lucius instructed his Prince, escorting the boy through the mass of roaring men.
over a year ago Blaze_of_Ares said…
Dunk quickly ran out of the arena, with his shield to cover the King. Jace followed Lucius. Over the commotion he could hear Lyonel barking orders. A man charged him. Jace reacted quickly thrusting his blade into the man. He see more men coming up towards them.
"Don't let them near"
Edric Dayne swung his Dawn down on one of them,

Lucius found himself standing before three plate knight's, their longswords held high, ready to strike them down. "Dunk, to the vanguard!" He shouted, running at them with his shield and broadsword. The man used the shield to take the brunt of the three attacks, quickly knocking back on sword with his own blade.

Dunk fought off the attackers as they come. He killed the men battering Lucius's shield.

Tristan glanced towards his brother in arms, grip tightening on his staff as he moved towards the frey, reaching with it towards the nearest torch. Fire leapt to the end of his weapon, dancing along its length before lunging away, between those of his own party and their foes, as obediant as a dog as it bit and snapped at iron clad warriors.
over a year ago Rogue475 said…
Gwel ran past his friend after he finished his attack, duel blades sweeping underneath a plated Knight, sending the man to the ground in a bloody heap. "Kingsguard, the way is clear!" He shouted, glancing back at Tristain. "We can't let them crowd the gate." The man shouted, pointing at the way they had come.
over a year ago PungoBliss said…
Tristan only just nodded, turning in the direction he'd indicated, the flames running the length of the floor ahead of them, biting and chasing away those that intended to block their escape.

The dark haired man watched from the rampart, acting as one of the lesser Lords of the Stormlands. He saw the Targaryen's running to the exit. Atop the gate, he saw some men that came with the Blackfyre. They pulled the lever, closing the path.
over a year ago Rogue475 said…
Gwel's gaze found the men atop the ramparts, "Shit..." He then ran to the Kingsguard, "We gotta move!" The Warrior told them.

Lucius nodded, turning to Jaecarys, "We should move on the Baratheon's they have more men." He then called to his Kingsguard and pointed towards the Stag of Storm's End.

Lord Lyonel had rallied his man and taken down most of the enemies. The party made their way back to the Arena where the Baratheon's household guards covered the King. Jacearys looked at Lord Lyonel and was met with a nod.

Lord Lyonel made his way to the King, bowing. "The Stormlands are yours, Your Grace." He turned around.
"Where is the Blackfyre man?!" he shouted.

Brandon Stark threw the man the ground, in front of the party. "Your Grace" he started

Jacearys's eyes widen, seeing the familiar face. "Brandon?"

"Aye, I am Brandon of House Stark, here to for the North"

Chapter 2: The Battle of Ashford

The Red host was comprised nearly entirely of Dornish warriors. Aeden, Rakh, and Kailan rode at the front. It almost seemed fitting, as they had been the trio to travel west in the days before the war... Before the world was plunged to chaos. "Lan... I spoke with the Dornish Lords, I'm placing you at the head of the Dornish Cavalry, you know these warriors far better than I do, and the Lords believe in House Martell."

Kailan nodded slightly, looking down at her horse's mane in thought. "Easily enough to do, I suppose " she said, glancing at the man who rode beside her

Aeden watched her carefully, "That's eight hundred men, all together. But they've been ordered by their Lords to follow you." The man explained, "I should like you on the war council, both of you." He glanced at Rakh, then back to her.

Kailan nodded a bit. "I am schooled in the task of leading a cavalry, seems easy enough a task."
