It was 219 AC, during the Great Spring Sickness when a greater tragedy struck the Seven Kingdoms, the murder of King Aerys I Targaryen, his family and most of his court. The next heir is but a child. This time of turmoil and sickness brings chaos to the land, even more with the threat from the rising from East…

With the king day, ambitions rise. Play the Game of Thrones, work your way, rule the kingdom or serve the babe. Remember In the Game of Thrones, there is no middle ground, you win or you die.

~~~
This Role Play will be set in King's Landing, the capital of Westeros. You may play your part no matter the size or nobility, as it is a time of chaos.
~~~
Some Background Information

The Spring Sickness is an unknown sickness that affects most of Westeros. A man may wake up healthy and die by the evening. There is no cure for this so far

When the Throne room was shut and the blood bath began, the dragons seem to have sensed it. King's Aerys dragon Vermithor burst out of the Dragon pit and flew straight into the throne room breaking past the door. It is said that the Dragon was mad seeing the dead body of its master, it burned the everybody till all that was left was just smoke as ashes.

"Well technically, Kingsguard can father no children, and take no wives" He said before going silent. "The book doesn't say anything about love..."

"But her duty, and attention belongs to the Throne, you know that Ser Aeden." He glances at the Prince "Just understand what she gives up"

Ser Aeden

The Knight glanced away for only a moment, then turned right towards the Lord Regent. "I understand completely what it means to be a Kingsguard, I know of all those damnable rules and oaths one must follow... If she wishes to be one, it is her choice... We need all the experienced warriors we can get right about now."

"What do you need?" She asked, turning slightly to face him, eyes bright and soft with mild interest in everything around her.

"I'm here to inform you that I just received a raven from one of our spies in Bravos." The man paused, handing her a small slip of paper. "The Golden Company is sailing to Westeros as we speak..."

"You know that you give me more information than that by now, Clarke, what does this mean?",

"Forgive me, I uh... Wasn't... It means that an uprising might ensue over the next couple of months..." The man touched his index finger to his temple, showing it was quite a subject to think on. "The uh, Blackfyre rebellions were started because of the predecessor of the Golden Company's leader, needless to say, thousands of lives were lost over the course of those terrible wars."

Lord Jacaerys

"I do hope she can choose, she is a talented warrior." Jacaearys look to the arena the last match is left with two men. Ser Duncan and an Arryn Knight.
"What do you think about Duncan the Tall?"

"He's honorable, a talented fighter no question. Only his style could use a bit of work."

(You know it is Speculated that Brienne is a descendant of Duncan the Tall)

Lord Jacaerys

"Men of honor..." Jacaerys watches as Ser Duncan help carry his fallen enemy to be healed, concluding the melee. "Time for the Archery Ser Aeden"

"I must insist that you inform the Small Council at the next meeting... Nothing good can come of this."

"You don't have to tell me that, Clarke." She said, tone impatient.

The man looked off towards the horizon for a mere moment. He then lowered his head and shook it slightly. "You might want to leave... If they come, men like that do... Terrible things to women."

"I can hold my own against any man. Magic is just as strong as a blade." She said dryly, turning away from the man.

"Magic?" The man uttered, before raising an eyebrow. "There's no way that's even possible." Clarke said as he went to follow Analia.
over a year ago PungoBliss said…
"Dont test me. Magic is very real, Clarke. And even if it isn't common here, I am not from here."
over a year ago Rogue475 said…
Clarke

"I'm not testing you, Analia. I'm merely saying that even magic can't stop six armored men from taking you." The Bolton stated as he followed the Mistress. "I'd be smart about it if I were you, if the day came when this city was under siege... Well, you might not want to be on the losing side."

She snorted softly, walking with thoughtful confidence. "Who do you think will win this tourney, Clarke?"
over a year ago Rogue475 said…
Clarke

"Ah, it's too soon to tell, could be that Martell woman, or Ser Jamison from Tarth." He shrugged, motioning with his hands as he spoke. "Got a favorite do you?"
over a year ago PungoBliss said…
"The Martell will be interesting to watch. There is a lot going against her."
over a year ago Rogue475 said…

"Huh, if I didn't know better, she was defending Ser Aeden." The Bolton mentioned as they walked passed the various noble's tents that dotted the surrounding area of Kingslanding.

"Oh? I wonder why she would do that."
over a year ago Rogue475 said…
Clarke

"Well, it's all speculation, some are saying they're lovers, and others just think she was acting the whole thing, trying to get Aeden to vouch for her when it came to the choosing of new Kingsguard." Clarke shrugged once more. "Those rich bastards are always working some kind of angle."

She snorted softly. "I've noticed. That family interests me."

"Martells were the only ones to ever resist the Dragons during the Age of Aegon the Conqueror. In fact they stayed isolated from all of Westeros for the better part of two generations."
over a year ago PungoBliss said…
"Oh? Fascinating. What else do you know of them?"
over a year ago Rogue475 said…
Clarke

"Well..." He'd paused, then took a quick sip from his ale flask. "It's a damn hot place, where the sands glimmer and whisper. Sunspear is the Capital of the region, a place where even Bastards like me are recognized as equals. In fact I'd wager we'd both fit right in."

As the final battle subsided people start leaving, to their homes to their tents. The warriors take their rest for tomorrow their tourney continues.

Lord Jacaerys

Jacaerys bid farewell to the Prince who is being taken by the Grand Maester.

"Come boy" the Regent ordered his foreign squire "Follow me". Jacaerys stood, walking to the Red Keep, he has to get ready for dinner with his family.

Ser Aeden

The knight took his leave beside the Prince, escorting him wherever he went. "Do you think I'l get to fight in a tourney one day, Ser?" The Dragon asked, looking back towards the Knight.

"Not if I have any say in it, young Master. Tourneys aren't quite what you see from the stands, there is a very real danger when fighting even with dulled blades."

Kailan had moved away from her family, and, when she had seen Ser Aeden, went after the Kingsguard, wanting the company of someone who could answer all of her questions.
over a year ago Rogue475 said…
Ser Aeden

Kailan, what brings you to the Red Keep?" Aeden asked once he ran into her halfway to the throne room.
over a year ago PungoBliss said…
"I was invited to come and fight, but currently I actually want to speak with you, about being a kingsguard. If you have the time, that is."
over a year ago Rogue475 said…
Ser Aeden

"Well, I was just about to report to the City Watch Commander, I'd be happy to talk so long as you walk with me." He nodded subtly, then continued at a slower pace than before.
over a year ago PungoBliss said…
"Thank you, I appreciate you taking the time." She said, speaking quietly as she matched her strides to his.
over a year ago Rogue475 said…
Ser Aeden

"So what is it you wished to speak of?" Aeden asked, glancing towards Kailan. "It won't be long before the winners are chosen..."
over a year ago PungoBliss said…
"I came here because I was invited, to fight in my family's name. I don't know what it is I am fighting for."
over a year ago Rogue475 said…
Ser Aeden

"Kailan, you're fighting for the chance to serve as a Kingsguard, one of the highest honors any knight or warrior can ever receive." He shrugged. "Although it isn't for everyone, you need to want it, or else it isn't worth the price."
over a year ago PungoBliss said…
"And what is the price?" She asked, glancing at him with a slight frown. She knew that the tourney was to be held to find new kingsguards, but Kailan had only come to fight, because she had been told to, and because it would be a good opportunity to test her skills.
over a year ago Rogue475 said…
Ser Aeden

"The price is your life, for you will serve until death." He'd sigh and look away for only a moment. "You must renounce all titles you hold. You may not take a spouse, nor have any children... These are only a few of the binding vows a sworn Kingsguard must hold to for all their lives..."
over a year ago PungoBliss said…
She nodded slowly, thinking. "That doesn't sound like something I couldn't do."
over a year ago Rogue475 said…
Ser Aeden

"It gets harder and harder as time goes on, all those damn rules." He let out a scoff. "Only take the offer of you are certain it is what you want."
over a year ago PungoBliss said…
"The kingsguard I injured in the joust, who is he?" She asked, after a long moment of thought.
over a year ago Rogue475 said…
Ser Aeden

"His name is Ser Lucius of house Tully." The man uttered, just as they passed a group of maids working to clean up a mess Lord Baratheon had made.
over a year ago PungoBliss said…
"Is he badly injured?" She asked, glancing over the mess with a brief flash of haughtiness in her expression, a certain dignity that bordered on obsinance, an old habit from her life of being raised a lady.
over a year ago Rogue475 said…
Ser Aeden

"He took a lance shaft to the arm, yeah, he's gonna be out for a few weeks." Aeden grumbled, trying not to laugh at the Baratheon's "artwork."
over a year ago PungoBliss said…
"I would apologize, but it was simply a matter of who had the better lance and the better seat on their mount." She replied, and a slight smirk curled her lip, another small expression on an otherwise blank face and empty heart.
