It was 219 AC, during the Great Spring Sickness when a greater tragedy struck the Seven Kingdoms, the murder of King Aerys I Targaryen, his family and most of his court. The next heir is but a child. This time of turmoil and sickness brings chaos to the land, even more with the threat from the rising from East…

With the king day, ambitions rise. Play the Game of Thrones, work your way, rule the kingdom or serve the babe. Remember In the Game of Thrones, there is no middle ground, you win or you die.

This Role Play will be set in King's Landing, the capital of Westeros. You may play your part no matter the size or nobility, as it is a time of chaos.

Some Background Information

The Spring Sickness is an unknown sickness that affects most of Westeros. A man may wake up healthy and die by the evening. There is no cure for this so far

When the Throne room was shut and the blood bath began, the dragons seem to have sensed it. King's Aerys dragon Vermithor burst out of the Dragon pit and flew straight into the throne room breaking past the door. It is said that the Dragon was mad seeing the dead body of its master, it burned the everybody till all that was left was just smoke as ashes.

"Then we'll call up the cavalry, make them the vanguard." The Kingsguard spoke, gazing out towards the forest where the Lannisters and Blackfyres would soon emerge. "... We don't have the men." Lucius concluded with a sigh.

"Wake up boy!" Ricord shouted in his small little room, which made him sound louder. Rakhelis shot out of his bed, squinting at the Northsmen.
"The Regent expects you in half an hour. Some reinforcement has arrived" Ricord explained

Both Kingsguards stood before the company of Martell's finest Swordsmen and Archers. Kailan seems happy to see her brethren once again. "The crown will not forget what your people have done for us, for the Realm." Aeden nodded to the Commander of the Dornishmen force.

Soon the party is within, Rakhelis escorted the Dornish Lord to the table with the Lord Regent. No doubt he would inquire about defenses and such. The Lords greeted each other and their meals were prepared.
"How many men did you bring?" The Regent asked

The three followed the Dornish Lord into the Regent's chambers, quietly waiting to be seated. "Eight thousand infantry, Three hundred horseback archers. Not including my Vanguard Cavalry of two hundred strong." The Dornishman grinned, his pride showing for his people.

"That puts us at over sixteen thousand... My Lord, we stand a chance..." Aeden spoke, a small smile emerging.

The Lord Commander stepped forward, his hands clasped behind his back. "We have four thousand banner men behind the walls in reserve to the now twelve thousand encamped beyond the gates. Each entrance is lined with barrels of pitch, should they attempt a siege, fire will lay waste to any who dare." The Lion began to pace. "In addition, my second Lucius, has set barrels of wildfire in the bay surrounding the Red Keep. If the Blackfyre navy tries anything, they will burn as well."

"I place my soldiers in your command Lord Aeden" the Dornish lord said. "I trust you will use them well"

The Commander nodded to the Lord, "They are your men, Lord Gargalen, I am merely a watcher on the Wall. We will need your men guarding the Dragon Gate alongside mine. We fight as equals, my Lord."

"I will contact him." The Knight agreed, just before the food came in prepared on silver platters. Each Lord sat before one another. Aeden sat at the far end, closest to the entrance. While Lucius went to take his place beside the Lord Commander, he was surprised to find Kailan already seated beside Aeden. "... My Lord." Lucius said to the Commander, before angrily seating himself beside the Dornish Lord.

The Kingsguard nodded towards his friend after he had been poured wine. "Thank you, Rakhelis." The Lion spoke, finishing his meal. Before long, the Kingsguard left the company of his comrades to speak directly with the Dornish General on the defense of the Dragons Gate.

Several Hours Later, When The Moon Hung Over The City. An Erie Omen, The Night Before Blood Would Be Spilled...

The Reyne finished his rounds and sighed as he went to his chambers, the halls quiet with no words but shuffles as everyone awaited the storm to come. No one said anything, but everyone felt it, they knew what was coming for them.

Aeden stopped half-way down the hall to his chambers, falling short as his mind began to race. He feared what was to come, knowing he wouldn't likely survive to the next night. He shook his head subtly, feeling terrified that he may never see Kailan again. Thus, with a short sigh, he started for her chambers. Each step, metal clanked as his armor shook around the Lion.

When he arrived at the door, he felt a small sense of anxiety as he removed his helm, standing before the Viper's chambers. In that moment, he knew not what to do, neither to knock, nor to enter. Aeden merely stood there in his gold and white armor, a fearful Lion awaiting his death.

Kailan stood at the window, looking out over the keep, at the moon. She could feel that something horrid was to come, and she wished dearly to be in Aeden's arms, where she felt safe, at least for a few hours. The girl had changed into clean leggings, and a buttoned shirt that was too long. Clothes that could be slept in, but also could be worn under the armor that sat ready near the bed.

The Knight stood there quietly, his forehead held against the door as he thought. Aeden didn't know what to say to Kailan, all he knew was that he needed her. "K..." He started, but fell short as his hand found the knob. The darkness just barely masked him as he slowly opened the door.

The candlelight only showed a portion of his face, enough for the Viper to see worry plaguing him. "... Do you really have to ask?" The Lion uttered quietly, hanging his head. "Kailan, I'm terrified..." His voice shuddered as he looked away, ashamed in himself. Through all the battles Aeden had faught, he never feared death. But this time was different, he was fighting for something... Something he desperately wanted to see again.

His armor shook as he stepped over to her. "I'd wager the Reyne sentries fight with the strength of seven men." Aeden teased, raising his wounded hand before her. It shook uncontrollably as he gazed at her through the darkness that clouded the room.

The Kingsguard shook his head in defiance. "... The only happiness I might find in death, is the truth that you will live on, even if I'm gone." Aeden spoke, his voice showing fear for the first time since Kailan had met him. "I should've come to you before, when it wasn't our last night together... It is the only regret I have..."

He said nothing as he stared into her eyes, his hands slowly touching her cheeks. "... I will see you again, but for tonight, let us never forget who we fight for... Why we fight..." His voice eased as he slowly brought his lips to hers, holding nothing back.

It was likely the fastest any knight had ever taken off a full set of plated armor. All that remained on the Kingsguard's body was the loose trousers and shirt he often wore. Aeden then felt himself moving with the Viper to the bed, almost by instinct as they held each other.

He stopped in that moment as they reached the edge of the bed. His hands going to his shirt as he lifted it over his head. Everything was a blur, happening so quickly as he continued to undress before the Viper.

Kailan's fingers once again tangled in the hair at the nape of his neck, kissing back with as much passion as he had, body automatically fitting to his where she perched on the edge of the bed, her skin cool where it touched his.

He felt himself slipping away from it all, as if transcending everything around him until there remind just Kailan and he. It was perfection, it seemed, for once, the Knight felt there was nothing in the world that could ever make their time more splendid. He soon found himself climbing onto the bed, still needing her as their passion drove him farther and farther.
