I do agree that that's what they are going for, but what they don't understand is that viewers "forgive" Damon because a) the characters on the show hold the **** that he pulls against and b) he admits to screwing up. With Stefan though even when he pulls something unforgiveable they either have the excuse go hand in hand with it or have the characters brush it off. There is nothing to root for there, because he gets everything handed to him.

I am sorry to tell you this but I am going to quit this show for some time, I am sick and tired of this 'saint Stefan love show' and the producers saying that Damon is a obstacle for SE (JP)or that Damon is a replacement for Stefan (KW) . I was ready to watch SE in season 1 because Damon and Elena weren't ready for each other in season 2 I know that it would take time for DE to reconnect because of the JNSI . After watching the episode a few times, I see the "Elena forgiving Stefan quick" differently. First of all, Stefan did not say Im sorry, or I apologize. He said "I shouldn't have done that". As for Damon, he went to her house asking for forgiveness. Some SE fans are saying that what KW is basically saying is that Damon is just Elena's *temptation*, & nothing more, when JP has said that Elena loves/has strong feelings for Damon, plus it's being hinted that she may get jealous or whatnot in 3x15. I love tonights episode, and I love the fact that Stefan saw how much Elena has changed. She is doing well without him, she is stronger and more independent. . Damon kills Jeremy and he comes back to life and Elena is angry (to the point of not talking to him at all for 3 episodes) for almost half a season .. Stefan tries to transform Elena into a vampire and kill her at the exact same place and the exact same way her parent dies and after 1 EPISODE SE are sharing long gazes and Elena helps Stefan get wood out of him ?? I really hated the way Stefan was written in this episode. They are making him seem like THE BIGGEST dick I've ever seen. He is trying to make Elena feel guilty about having feelings for Damon, then he is starting to get feelings. Now, I understand the whole "Stefan and Elena will get back together, but that's good so DE can happen without guilt" just think about this...is it?
