Do you know the movie “Identity” where a group of people is trapped in a motel in the middle of nowhere during a storm? I won’t spoil it for those who still want to watch it, but the situation – and even the world – of those people is not normal. And each of those people has his or her birthday on May 10th. So, is this a coincidence or is there something mystical about that date? I am normally not much interested in such things, but does anyone of you have “mystery/witch/supernatural” or whatever knowledge and has ever heard about a certain meaning of this date? over a year ago

That is what we have been shown – and even told – throughout the series about compulsion. I just can’t get over people not expecting Elena’s inner loneliness, emptiness etc. and her not knowing about a reason not to be interested in boys leading to problems. So you think it was wrong of Stefan to give up even though he was chasing every lead for months and all were dead ends? I know a crap load of characters get resurrected all the damn time but the other side doesn't exist anymore so for all everyone knows Damon and Bonnie are gone for good. Stefan lost his brother and constantly trying to bring him back is really hard on him. How long do you think he should try to bring them back before moving on and living his life? over a year ago

I also don’t think that this will actually work, but I still like the idea of it. Anyway, I just wanted to remind people that Stefan is a broken character, too, although I also can’t believe that I somehow defend him. But I have always believed that nobody should be judged by the way in which he or she reacts to grief, though I admit that Stefan’s way is not a good one; but it is just so damn fitting for his spoiled character. over a year ago

Oh I defend Stefan too sometimes, when people are too hard on him. Nothing wrong with that. I also think that everyone grieves in their own way, for better or worse. Even though it was kinda satisfying that Caroline called him a dick (bye bye pedestral). Mixed feelings... over a year ago

So, now we know! The first moment when Elena truly loved Damon was in 3.01 when Damon gave her the necklace. So, no sire bond, and nothing else that can imply that Elena's love was not real. She just saw what we already knew. That Damon was selfless all along when it came to her.

What do you think? I'm sure noone expected that this scene would be the significant moment but i completely understand why Elena loved him! Do you rather would prefer other scene? Sooner or later than 3.01? Posted over a year ago

about the Steroline thing- I think it was written that way exactly for open interpretation, and also so it could serve as a romantic undertone. I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I think the triangle was handled great through all the seasons. The reason why fans go on and on about how bad it was is because of the fan baiting through interviews, and, as Paul said, the advertising ("a girl torn between two brothers"). The triangle itself never annoyed me that much. It was the fandom that made such a drama of it (and yes, the advertising). I'm hardcore DE, but I'm not bothered by SE scenes at all. But it was time to end the triangle and let it go. It was a very brave and wise decision. over a year ago

Like I said before, falling in love is a process (especially for Delena and their slow build up). But they perhaps only look for the initial spark. Anyway, I think that this storyline is there to make Elena (and the others) realize that she fell in love with Damon way before she thought that she did (“the scared little girl that couldn’t admit what she wanted”). over a year ago

But I don’t like Elena already talking about falling in love again. I understand why they made her say that, now that they tease us with the possibility of her getting a new love interest. But falling in love should either be the last thing on her mind now or she should ask Alaric to also compel her to never fall in love again, to avoid suffering from more heartache. Although Elena knows that she will never experience anything close to the deepness of the true love that she shares with Damon anyway. But I would have preferred her to only say that she wants to make eternity bearable or to add something different (ever laugh again, ever be happy again, ever enjoy life again, …). It just bothers me though, and I am in no way worried. But it is in my opinion strange of her to speak about something like that at this point. over a year ago

I just saw the promo and i think that Alaric compelling Elena will be super angsty...i mean come on, making Elena forget Damon or her love for him is a writer's angst wet dream. And I think that scene between Damon and Jeremy in season 1 where he tells Damon that the emptiness doesn't go away ni matter what is a scene to remember at this point because Alaric might compell Elena to forget Damon but he can't take away the emptiness, the sadness or that hole in her heart where Damon used to be.... I can see a storyline in everybody dealing with such a revelation; it makes sense that they have difficulties finding that moment because Elena looks for when she fell in love with Damon in a later phase and nobody else knows about that meeting; it gives more importance to Jeremy’s statement about being compelled, the “Even before anything happened in our series, Elena had been touched in her soul by this man.”, Damon’s “I’ve seen it since the second I laid eyes on you.” and what we are shown about compulsion (another returning basic story element). over a year ago

But based on the arc that we’ve witnessed and the things that she goes through that we see in this first episode and how difficult that is for her, it’s almost like asking someone to admit you into rehab, you know? I believe us DE fans can only watch the first 2 episodes for DE while the rest of the season is filled with DB n SE bullshit. I don't know what you're talking about. Yes, DE were pushed to the sideways a lot during most of season 5, but it had nothing to do with the direction the show was going, and everything to do with Caroline Dries not being able to handle their storyline properly. There was a lot of damage control done from 5x16 onwards, which put DE in the center again, as they deserve. over a year ago

I think Stefan has too much of a martyr complex to make any moves on his dead brother's girlfriend, or take advantage of any vulnerable state or situation Elena may be in. IF she does initiate a kiss or something, it could well be that she's not thinking straight because she's half-crazed with grief. She's suffered a huge loss and grief sometimes makes people act in ways they wouldn't. If she did, then I can't see Stefan reciprocating. over a year ago

So the latest issue is that due to Ian and Nina's complete and utter incapability to act professional onset (Not my words - various articles') the writers are apparently seeing it fit to change the main couple around back to Stefan and Elena and avoid Damon/Elena scenes due to tension and fighting between Ian and Nina.

I know this is advertising S6 and that's the reason why DE are on opposite sides of the picture, but I still don't like it, mainly because SE are holding hands even though they're not together anymore and Bonnie/Kat is wearing a super low-cut dress and clutching Damon's jacket as if she's afraid he'll break away from her or something. The Bamon fans overreact to everything, so I just know they'll be all over that. So yeah, a bit disappointing, but I'm too secure about DE to let it bother me. over a year ago

There is a difference between not admitting the end directly, even something like a “we will see what might happen” from time to time, and willingly misleading – or trying to mislead even against the more than obvious – the audience in such an extreme way. There is truly no sense in making things look so extremely like they in reality are not, while the blind fans will continue ignoring anyway and already build their ships on “fake” or nothing at all. And the worried fans will go on fearing even with much less, while the by far biggest fanbase only gets pissed; things are only shown in that way to upset people, and that already scares viewers away and will in the end cause trouble with the ones that were misled. over a year ago

One of the things that make DE that beautiful is that there is a hidden meaning in everything leading to them ending up together, but I am still worried that this form of advertising will continue until the end, although it requires time to end things properly (more than only the last episode of the show), for example to give Stefan a real development and a right end. But I only care about Delena anyway (and they take their time and are built with carefulness in detail), my confidence in the DE endgame is still as strong as ever, and I am not allowing the stupid promotional work to destroy my Delena happiness. The story itself, the deep meaning behind everything and all of the other important things speak – or even scream - for our cause, and that is everything that counts. over a year ago

Yeah, it is a hallucination because of the drugs! I don’t expect Damon to have a way to communicate with anyone in the real world already at the beginning (either later or not at all before his return). But even more important than the difference between real and hallucinated is the one between with and without the possibility of coming back. Without any hope of ever getting back to Elena, Damon would selflessly want Elena to move and have a happy life without him; and Elena knows him well enough to put that in the Damon that her subconsciousness comes up with. But Damon still exists somehow and – like it is said below – his one goal will be to return to Elena (and Stefan and the others). over a year ago

I'm sure it's hallucinations, but I don't think it would be OOC for Damon to say that. Yes, he loves Elena more than anything, but he also believes they are bound to end, sooner or later. Their whole arc in S5 was about that, and if you look at their reunion in the end it wasn't much of a "screw the universe, our love prevails!" And more of a "we know we are doomed to end, but let's enjoy our time left". Damon also said "it can't get any better than this" in his goodbye speech. over a year ago

Since Mystic Falls is still being cloaked by the Travelers’ spell that will kill any vampire who steps foot in town, probably not anytime soon. However, Damon could actually come face-to-face with someone in the land of the living fairly quickly. (And no, that’s not counting Elena using some witchy drug to hallucinate him.) The media always twist everything to attract readers, so that's honestly not new. If, at this point, you can believe that Damon could EVER be in love with anyone other than Elena, and that Elena will be with someone else when it's clear as day that Damon is the love of her life, then you've not been watching the show (or understood the writing). SE and DB will not occur romantically; both relationships will be friendships. DE is endgame, and it couldn't be any more obvious, thanks to Season 5. over a year ago
