I feel a STRONG Cinderella vibe today! I'm a housekeeper for the summer at a hospital (HATE this job), today I locked my door and got dressed up in a suit just because I wanted to feel like Cinderella going to the ball (although I went nowhere lol), got back into my regular clothes, cleaned my room, dusted my room, vacuumed my room, and watched Ever After (BEST version of Cinderella EVER). Anyone know where I can find a Fairy Godmother to help me out? lol

Hello, everyone! Sorry for not being around for the past several weeks. I've been enormously busy. That being said, I'm going to post the new background choice poll (the preliminary round) on the 30th. And remember, just because we're *voting* doesn't mean it *has* to change (kind of like this whole Brexit situation, ironically). Because of this, the forum for submissions is still open and accepting submissions for the new poll. Thank you all for your participation! :)

I can't believe that Wicked the Musical is coming to Singapore this coming September, I really want to watch it so badly! Is it good?

I watched Finding Dory and before I talk about my thoughts on the movie, I think I should state something first. When I first heard about Pixar making this movie I really rolled my eyes because it just seemed like a pointless sequel to do. However, after watching it, I have to say that it absolutely makes sense why they made a sequel to this. It also makes a lot of scenes involving Dory that are funny in the original actually really heartwarming *continues to type in comments*
Posted over a year ago
The characters from the original we mainly see are Dory (OF COURSE), Marlin, and Nemo and they're all still enjoyable. In fact, I actually like Nemo more in this movie because he does have more of an identity and contributes more. Unfortunately, Marlin and Nemo aren't given as much screentime as I'd like, but the movie does keep it's focus on what's important, Dory. The new characters are memorable and just as entertaining as the characters from the original. The humor is hilarious, the animation is the most gorgeous Pixar has done so far, the emotions are powerful, and is surprisingly really clever. Also, without giving anything away, near the end of the movie when I thought the movie was going to take the easy way out they did something more clever. It's not as good as the original, which is my favorite Pixar movie, but this movie is among one of Pixar's best, surprisingly. But I still prefer the Finding Nemo, Inside Out, and Toy Story 3 more. I highly recommend this movie!over a year ago
So yesterday I came back from my trip to Kalmar and Öland and it was an amazing trip, crossing the Öland Bridge (which is one of Europe's longest bridges being a little over 6 kilometers long) was amazing and Öland is such a beautiful landscape. I was able to swim in the sea three times, the last time I did I saw jellyfish (luckily not a kind that burns you). And Kalmar is such a charming little town

Have any of you guys seen or heard of a French film called "Jack and the Cuckoo-Clock Heart"? Well, I just finished seeing it and I'm still trying to process what I saw. It was perhaps the most random animated film I've ever seen. It was certainly unique but obviously trying way too hard to be edgy and poetic. It was just plain weird but sort of interesting but it could have been so much better. And the music...well, it definitely isn't like any music from Disney films, yeah it's something.

It was interesting, the subtle changes from the screenplay has made the script much better. Be our guest for Belle makes much more sense.over a year ago
^Yeah, I thought that in general that it improved upon the original screenplay. The "mercy thing" was kinda of an interesting concept, but flawed. And while I looove the long version of Human Again, it wouldn't work - nine minutes long, if we go by the demo! Oh, btw: you know the scene where Belle is baking a cake for her father and decorating the house for his return? Originally that scene was different: Belle was supposed to be marking in a map the places she wanted to travel. But the guys at Disney changed it, which upset Linda Woolverton, the writer, a bit.over a year ago
^i agree, mercy concept was good but would have been too much of a cliche. I loved human again as well, but i again agree it was way too long for the movie and would have just slowed the the script. Really? It upsets me too bcoz belleis often criticized for not "doing" anything for her dreams, taking time to mark off places on map would've given a completion to her dreams. I also liked that they changed the way she saw her father in the mirror and that beast gave it to her, instead of her finding it out other way, makes for a much better redemption for beast.over a year ago
I liked the idea that he saw Maurice in the mirror and felt conflicted whether to tell Belle or not... but I really dislike that the music box was the one to show it to Belle. I think that part was way better in the final script. Also, I think that showing the curse through the stained glass windows works better than actually showing it. The end was really cute, though, with Belle and the Duke (another thing I found interesting) going off to travel - the description of the wagon filled with books and maps.over a year ago
^i don;t why they have eliminated so many scenes that connects Belle with her interest. yes, conflicting scene for Beast's personality between selfishness and selflessness would've been interesting, adding more layer to it. I was hoping to see wedding scene between Belle and Duke, but traveling is way better!over a year ago

I read that Moana is the name of an Italian porn actress so they changed the name of the princess to prevent European children from finding adult content in case they search Moana on the Internet.over a year ago
euny - that is also correct. But Wikipedia lists that as the reason it was changed in Italy, and the perfurme the reason it was changed in the rest of Europe.over a year ago
Weird, it's called Vaiana in my country too :/ We usually keep the original titles if it's a name, so why is the change? If I Google Moana, I only get Disney's Moana results, no porn actress at all.over a year ago

Oh my goodness, what in the world is wrong with Orlando?! I just found out that a boy was killed and taken away by an alligator at one of the Disney resorts yesterday. Seriously, what is going on over there. Is their some sort of evil force field surrounding that city these days or something? I mean I've always known that Orlando is one of Florida's more dangerous cities but this is ridiculous. First Christina Grimmie was killed, then the nightclub shooting, and now this.
Posted over a year ago
What ever is going on over there, I hope things get better and don't spread to the rest of Florida. I go to Orlando all of the time but now I think I'll just not go for a while. And I had been thinking of going to Disney again tomorrow but I think it's better to just hold off on that until things calm down in Orlando. Disney will still be there...I hope. No seriously, the hashtag Pray for Orlando could not be more apt, that city certainly needs prayer because it seems like it's been unusually unsafe in these last few days, it's been on the national news everyday this week and not for good things. I expect that from NYC or LA since they are the biggest cities here but not from Orlando. That being said the local news here is always filled that bad things that happen in Orlando so maybe now the nation is just realizing that Orlando has a problem. Anyway, i'll definitely be praying because I'd hate things to get worse over there.over a year ago
What a horrible week for Orlando with the murder of 22-year-old Voice Star Christina Grimmie who was shot outside a concert venue while signing autographs and the brutal attack at the Orlando nightclub, Pulse which resulted in the death of 49 people. And now, an alligator grabbed hold of a two-year-old child on the beach of the Seven Seas Lagoon at the Grand Floridian Resort @ Walt Disney World :( So devastating and tragic. My heart is broken for this family and sending prayers their way!over a year ago
I'd make a joke about the Tic Toc Croc getting the little boy, but that would be in VERY HORRIBLE taste! There's been A LOT of talk about death this year. Orlando is getting a lot more recently than anywhere else. This is so depressing! We should keep their friends and families in our prayers, along with praying that nothing else bad will happen.over a year ago

We had two stat's to do (A stat is when we need to make a room 100% clean and FAST because a new patient is coming soon), and we didn't even get to have our 2:00 fifteen minute break because we were so busy. I also heard that the meeting was basically just the same thing that is said at all the meetings, so making us short handed for that amount of BUSY time was just POINTLESS! Also something that I found really annoying was in this one room one of the trashcans didn't have a bag in it, but it still had garbage in it. There was another trashcan that had a bag in it, yet they still didn't put the trash there! It's bad enough that someone was too lazy to put in a bad when I wasn't at work, but to deliberately put garbage into a trashcan with no bag is just plain STUPID! Since Moana is coming in a few months, I think a word of caution is in order: we shouldn't start incorporating Moana to the club until after her coronation. I'm really worried that, in our excitement, we'll take it as given that she'll join the franchise and will start counting her right away. We made that mistake with Anna and Elsa.
I hope I don't sound like a dictator, I'm just... a bit worried.

This rumor about Elsa being a lesbian in the sequel is something I find to be really annoying. It has nothing to do with me being anti-LGBT or anything like that. I just feel like it would be a horrible stereotype because people assume that just because a woman is single it means that she's gay. It's like when people assume that just because a guy wears pink or is into feminine things that they're gay. *Continues to type in comments*
Posted over a year ago
If Disney is going to have a gay character, I'd prefer for them to make a new character instead of taking an already existing character and making them gay because they're single and just to make the LGBT community happy. Plus the petition thing really makes it worse because if Disney did pay attention to that (Which is unlikely) it would be them giving into pure pressure instead of doing what they want to do. It's unlikely that this will happy, but if it does, I just think it would be a bad way to do it.over a year ago
^I was talking about the finished product. Either way, I've been thinking about it and realized that, really, is not that I'd have a problem if Elsa was gay; I would be very happy if Snow White announced in her chirpy voice that she's a bisexual. But I still think that the first openly LGBT Disney character should be an original character. Even if this character would be prejudged (and they would be), if they prove to be well-written, compelling and "not just gay", most of the public will accept it. And besides, I'm convinced that Elsa would be that kind of character - the gay character. The first movie did something similar, so yeah.over a year ago
Besides, the fact that Elsa doesn't have a love interest and is never shown to be interested in romance allows a lot of people to headcanon her as asexual - I have a friend that does.over a year ago

While I was on IMDb, people want Elsa to be lesbian. In the words of Simon Cowell, if I am being honest, I don't want her to be lesbian. No offence to the LGBT community as I have friends from that community, it will be weird for Elsa to be Lesbian and I can't bring myself to believe it. This is going to be a controversial topic that I'm bringing up!

I think their is a petition online about that and it has garnered a lot of attention and support and Idina Menzel has even addressed it but I don't think Disney has responded. It's really an online effort but it doesn't necessarily mean that Disney will go that route, it's not like every fan signed the petition and besides the biggest fans are kids and I have a feeling that the effort is entirely driven by adults, some of which might not actually even be Frozen fans but instead just want to see Disney make a bold social statement like that. I will avoid sharing my own opinion on the matter since I know this is quite a hot button issue and I'm not in the mood to get into any arguments. I have a feeling that Elsa will stay forever single though, maybe she'll become a nun lol.over a year ago
^Corrections: I meant they should make a DP film devoid of romance and I also meant that since Elsa is super popular around the world it's obvious that people don't seem to be bothered too much that a female lead stays single so it wouldn't be a surefire failure if Disney made a whole DP film that did not involve romance and instead was about other things and changes the formula around.over a year ago
Wouldn't that be a nice change of pace? Why do princess have to have romantic elements? Some people complain that Disney always uses the same basic formula for its DP films so why not change it up and do something more original and action driven and not so lovey dovey.over a year ago
I watched Batman Returns for the first time and it was actually a really good movie. I mainly watched it because I ADORE Catwoman/Selina Kyle and I heard she was awesome in this movie. Her backstory is definitely different from most versions (Though not nearly as much as the AWFUL Halle Berry version), but she is still awesome! I do prefer her in some other versions, but this version is definitely incredible and Michelle Pfeiffer gives a brilliant performance *continues to type in comments*

All of the actors give wonderful performance. Also, while I'm not a huge fan of him, Tim Burton was the perfect choice to direct this movie. It has humor but is definitely dark, which suits Burton's style very well. The look is very unique with a great look to it, it has a phenomenal score, the costumes/make-up look amazing, Selina/Catwoman and Bruce/Batman have wonderful chemistry, and Tim Burton definitely was the right choice for a director. However, the action scenes are pretty dated and a lot of times look fake (although Catwoman's backflips are AWESOME), it can be a little too weird for me at times, and the effects are definitely dated and I can tell are fake. But it's a great movie and probably is one of the best comic book movies of all time. Now I just gotta watch The Dark Knight Rises, since it has Catwoman in it (My obvious biasness is showing lol).over a year ago
Hey guys, remember that the princesses are supposed to get new makeovers in upcoming months? Looks like it will be soon, Mulan's face character is already in her new redesign. I uploaded the picture I found in the gallery.

I don't like the waist belt thing, but the rest is passable I guess. Redesigns aren't my thing. They're usually bad. At least, most of Ariel's, Mulan's, and Pocahontas's have been bad.over a year ago
I just finished making The Little Mermaid as an completely Instrumental Movie, where the only thing you can hear is the beautiful Score by Alan Menken! Including all the songs. No voices, no sound effects. I'm very pleased with it, now all I have to do is to burn onto a Blu-Ray Disc and Vola! The Little Mermaid: Isolated Movie Score Blu-Ray :3 I don't know if I should do Pocahontas or Beauty and the Beast next...

How cool that's awesome! Pocahontas and Beauty and Beast have great scores it's hard to pick between the two but if it were me I'd do BATB the score is just gorgeous and breathtaking especially the "Transformation" score! But again that's just me I'm sure whatever you pick will turn out wonderfully.over a year ago
Disney just recently got the rights to a graphic novel called Delilah Dirk and the Turkish Lieutenant that they're gonna make into an animated film in the future: link

If it is an animated movie, I would love to see her becoming an official DP, considering that Angelina, the princess in Giants, was most likely written out of its script, as we haven't heard anything more about her.over a year ago

I'd like to apologize for cluttering the polls section with endless question polls for the movie countdown. I realized too late that it would've been better if I had just made one poll, like I did the last time. Fanpop's lack of option for deleting a poll is annoying.
Posted over a year ago
It really is super annoying that they don't let people delete polls! Thank you so much for organizing the favorite DP film countdown by the way! I very much look forward to it. :)over a year ago
It's not exactly a problem now that Fanpop is having the polls show like I believe 100 polls or something on one page. So it's not really cluttering the polls section. It's barely even a dent in the poll section lol.over a year ago
I know it has probably been asked here a lot right? But who else is super excited for Beauty and The Beast after seeing that trailer?! I'm stoked. Belle and Beast are my favorite couple, princess, and price. So I hope this is done good. I personally wasn't a big fan of how they did Maleficent and Cinderella but I thought Jungle Book was pretty good so I'm hoping this live action will be pretty good too. What do you guys think?

The trailer is getting a mixed reception on here. A lot of people in this club are stoked for it (like you are). I am not impressed with the trailer at all, and BATB is not one of my favorite Disney movies period. But we shall see. I liked how they did Maleficent, and I loved Cinderella.over a year ago
I don't really bothered if the trailer was too short, only shows castles, etc. That's a teaser trailer, if you want to see more you have to waiting the full trailer was come out. I honeslty like how Disney made the teaser trailer doesn't revealing too much.over a year ago
Execs at Disney are in the early stages of reviving Hans Christian Anderson’s The Little Mermaid as a live-action feature. Disney Production Chiefs recently heard a new take and are currently evaluating whether to proceed with the idea. Deadline understands that initial discussions have also taken place with major producers, including some with a strong connection to the studio.

Should Disney execs decide to move forward, they’ll find strong competition from an existing live-action project being led by Brit production powerhouse Working Title. That Little Mermaid project, set up at Universal, has Chloe Grace Moretz attached to star and up-and-coming filmmaker Rebecca Thomas set to direct from a script by Richard Curtis.over a year ago
I really like the original ending, so I wouldn't mind if she dies - but I'm thankful for Disney's twist in the animated film, as it makes for an unique adaptation.over a year ago
Ahh stupid fingers I wasn't done tying anyway to continue I have mixed feelings about the whole thing. Because I adore Jodi Benson as The Little Mermaid I feel like she was perfect for the role she portrays the character really well and her voice is so beautiful and iconic just like Idina Menzel is with Elsa although Sierra Boggers from the Broadway musical isn't bad either if there's singing in this version. But it will be interesting to see what they're going to do with the story line either to see if they lean more towards the animated version or the original especially with the mermaids fate at the end. I defintely hope the mermaid will live and not die that's the one thing I dislike about the original story if she does it'll be a one time watch for me depending on whether I liked the rest of the story or not.over a year ago
i am always interested in new takes on original stories. I love new angles and perspective and it doesn't bother me if the remake is a different take on the original completely. I'd want to watch it very much and decide it then how much good or bad it will beover a year ago
Has anyone been to the Unpopular Confessions/Opinions lately? Suddenly, they took all the confessions and now, there are only 3 pages instead of multiple ones. I just noticed that.

Okay I watched the official 2017 Beauty and the Beast trailer, I'm quite impressed that the prince had his parents in the portrait unlike the animated one. But, he looks scarier than his animated form for peculiar reasons. Am I the only one?
Posted over a year ago
He just looks spoiled. The painting reminded me of Justin Bieber's face, actually. I actually didn't like the trailer. It was not exciting at all. It was mostly a black screen, with Menken's piano solo.over a year ago
^^ Yea, it's not very original unlike the 2015 Cinderella! It looks morbid and depressing, it reminds of the opening scene of the 2004 version of ALW's The Phantom of the Opera!!!over a year ago
Yeah. Phantom of the Opera distinguishes itself by being a dark Broadway show. I was expecting more out of Disney. The trailer for Cinderella ( 2015) got me excited to tread familiar territory. This one, with the exception of Menken's piano solo and Ian McKellen's voice, ( which I'd know anywhere because he is Gandalf)...was just very blah. I also don't like Emma Watson at all. And now, because of her, all of the Potter fans will be all over this movie like crazy. I'm already sensing that I don't think I will enjoy it, and it will be over-hyped to the max anyway.over a year ago
Yea, I am also very skeptical about Dan Steven's performance, I felt that it's not going to capture the magic like what Cinderella did! I might wanna boycott this movie!!over a year ago
For fun I decided to take the DPs (& a few others) and pair them with a young Disney Heroine that they look similar too. The only "rules" I gave myself was that they had to be 100% Disney (no Pixar), had to be animated & had to be from a movie (no TV shows). Here's what I have so far....
Snow White - Vanellope
Cinderella - Wendy
Aurora - Eilonwy
Ariel - Jenny
Jasmine - Shanti
Pocahontas - Tiger Lilly
Rapunzel - Alice
Anna - Penny (T.R)
and
Esmeralda - Melody
More to follow.....

Still need to figure out ones for Belle, Mulan, Tiana and Elsa. Also, just for the heck of it, Meg, Kida and Jane. // The young heroines I have are; Jane (Peter Pan 2), Lilo (Lilo & Stitch) Penny (Bolt) and Chaca (The Emperor's New Groove). // Not really sure who to pair up with who. // I'm also thinking of doing another listing where the DPs are paired up with the young heroine that act most like them. // What do you guys think??over a year ago
^It's been an on and off kind of thing. You know what? Pruefever has been doing a Disney Princess /Character of the Month over at the Disney characters spot. But you can try to start FOTM again if you wish.over a year ago
Okay, first of all, I have to say that the teaser trailer for the live-action Beauty and The Beast is absolutely GORGEOUS and I WANT MORE! Plus I like that they have a portrait of the human Beast as a child with his parents. Maybe that'll explain why he was such a brat before becoming the Beast. Plus, Emma Watson is gorgeous and will, of course, be incredible as always. However, there is one thing that's bugging me and that has to do with Moana *continues to type in comments*

I know you must be wondering what the hell the teaser trailer for the live-action Beauty and The Beast has to do with Moana. Well, Moana comes out this year on November 23rd and we have yet to see even a teaser trailer for it. Are we ever going to see a teaser trailer for Moana? This movie isn't going to be very popular or earn a lot of money if they don't start letting out trailers to let people know about it. Advertising for a movie is VERY important, and without good advertising it doesn't matter if the critical and the audience (those who see the movie) reception is good if it's not advertised enough to gain attention. That sure was the case with The Rescuers Down Under and The Princess and The Frog. When are we going to get a freaking Moana trailer. Beauty and The Beast doesn't even come out this year.over a year ago
Moana could very well be popular. I don't remember seeing many Zootopia trailers or even many Frozen trailers months before they came out. Most Disney trailers start popping up three to 6 months ahead of the movie's premiere date. I don't get why people aren't excited for Moana and think it isn't going to be a success. Come on people, lets be optimistic!over a year ago
I think Moana is going to be great and I'm excited for it, which is why I want the trailers NOW! Plus, it does make me upset when a great movie doesn't do very well. That certainly was the case with The Rescuers Down Under and The Princess and The Frog (Although with The Princess and The Frog it could also be the prejudice against hand-drawn films). I don't know why people aren't more excited, maybe it's just that they don't wanna be let down if it's not as great as they hoped. But trust me, I'm definitely optimistic about this film, so much that I'm getting impatient having to wait for the trailers, let along the movie itself.over a year ago
I'm curbing my enthusiasm until I see the actual movie itself. The trailers for Brave and Frozen were misleading. At this point, it's tough to know what Disney's "strategy" is anymore. And in the Revival Era, they really haven't "delivered for me" a princess "with whom I really connected." When it comes to the princesses, it is all subjective.over a year ago
^Disney seems to be more into cute fuzzy things that scream merchandizing, and not into developing actual story content. That's why I feel the way I do now.over a year ago
I don't know, I don't really sure Moana could be very popular as the previous films do. Maybe because Disney have two animated films at this year and the other one is already released and got the positive reviews. I bet when Moana comes out, there will be rivalry between those two films to be the best Disney animated film in this year.over a year ago
I was thinking the same, why Moana's trailer isn't out as of yet. I mean, its due for release in another couple months. I'm so waiting to watch a glimpse of Moana and really hoping it doesn't turn me down as much.over a year ago
I'm very excited for the live action Beauty and the Beast! I know many people aren't fans of live action Disney movies, but I find them very enjoyable. I wish they had decided to make another Disney movie instead of this one, since BatB has already been made into a live action movie (I'm still waiting for Mulan), but I think Emma Watson as Belle was a really good choice, and I look forward to seeing how she'll portray the character. The trailer looks very cool. :)

^ Agreed. And I loved how they made the inside of the Beast's castle. If it turns out to be as aesthetically pleasing as Cinderella was, then I'll be satisfied. :)over a year ago
i think it's going to be fabulous. The sets were to die for! although i was too excited about Emma as Belle, now I'm not too sure these days, but i'm gonna hold onto my hopes till i see the movie.over a year ago
Would you guys mind reporting the user Stalag? He's been posting offensive content the last few days, and now he's trolling me and sending me messages.
Today I just finished watching a Disney documentary that I've been meaning to watch for a LONG time, Behind The Magic: Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs. It tells the struggles that Walt had to face while making the movie, a lot of inspiration for any Disney fan (especially one who wants to work at Disney), the legacy, the beauty of the art, the way it struck such a cord with everyone, and was narrated by Ginnifer Goodwin (The actress who plays Snow White on Once Upon A Time).

You can find it on ABC.com and it was absolutely incredible! I knew the movie got made and was a success and I was scared at times that it wouldn't happen. That should tell you how powerful it is! I HIGHLY recommend watching it! I actually think I'm going to watch every Walt Disney animated studio film from Snow White all the way to Zootopia (if it comes out on DVD when I come to it lol), even the movies I personally dislike.over a year ago
