I didn't expected Moana to be that epic when I first saw it's trailer and soundtracks (except How far I'll go) it didn't excite me but today I got to watch it with my brother and we both were surprised, we both were not expecting much from it, and guessed that they'd show Moana much like Rapunzel, as they did to Anna but surprisingly she was different in a good way. Well, an hour or so ago I finished watching Frozen and it is a good movie, not great. Well, this is probably short notice to tell you guys but tomorrow morning I'm having surgery. The abscess that I had lanced and drained on my armpit came back and it's apparently an infected sweat gland or something. So they have to do some actual surgery in order to get rid of the infection. Last night I watched The Princess and the Frog and it SERIOUSLY is such an underrated classic! I think with the success of Moana that we can be sure that it wasn't because it was about a character of color but was the prejudice against 2D films. I really loved Moana, but I was disappointed by some aspects (I might write an article on that later)... But now I'd like to ask you a question.... In the brazilian dubbing, when Maui is writing the heart and the thumbs up in Moana's oar, he says what would translate to: "This is just like FACEBEAK". Aside of being a terrible joke, that dates the movie a lot, is inconsistent with the time period the movie is set on, and is unfitting for a DP movie. Does the original version contain that joke?? So recently I found out something pretty interesting about The Black Cauldron. It was based VERY loosely off of the first two books of The Chronicles of Prydain. But it turns out that despite being a box office bomb and considered the black sheep of the Disney family, the author of those books, Lloyd Alexander actually liked the movie, despite it having little resemblance to his books.
