Hi guys! I'm back from Orlando. I didn't get to go to Disney World though. :P Hopefully, I'll be able to in the near future! On a sad note, I DID hear about Tygers_Eye... :(

Shouldn't something like this be some kind of outrage? Why isn't the animation community taking up arms against the academy and their disrespect? Funny cuz they seem to respect it during the ceremonies.....but if they aren't even watching each film then they really are disrespecting the artists...over a year ago
^I agree. I respect the academy because the majority of the people who win Oscars are talented and deserving but sometimes the Oscars aren't super fair. I think the same goes for foreign film and the short and documentary film categories, they tend to focus more on the best picture nominees and the acting nominations. They should respect animation more though and the other less popular categories.over a year ago
Yeah. I miss her a lot. I don't want you to leave, though! :( If I ever leave Fanpop, I wont delete my account, just in case. If you need a break, go for it. Sorry about everything.over a year ago
I miss her so much! This may seem exaggerated, but I feel like fanpop is not the same since she left. I don't want you to leave, but I agree with Mallo, if you want a break, then go for it.over a year ago
Anyone else super excited for the "magical" surprise at the oscars? The writers of the song "let it go" from FROZEN are apparently preparing something for everyone with the host...I'm hoping for an animated collaboration

I'm fine with either How To Train Your Dragon 2 or Big Hero 6 winning best animated film. It'll probably be Big Hero 6 because it's one of the highest animated movies of all time.over a year ago
Oscars! I always watch them although i havent been following award season this year as closely as last year. Animated film is a tough category for me to choose from but i am rooting for Feast. I think I know which actors are going to win and which movie will take Best Picture though.over a year ago
As some of you know, me and cruella make videos defending characters we like that get hate. So I stumbled upon a website called "F*** Yeah, Controversial Characters" and some reasons for hating a character are so STUPID! Look at this one for Esmeralda.
“Ungrateful harlot” for not falling in love with Quasi even though he saved her life twice, “slut” for her sexy apperance, isn’t a cutesy Disney Princess, chose Phoebus over Quasi and/or Frollo, *continues to type in comments*

What LupinPrincess said goes for me too, I avoid any sites like that and not just Disney related sites, i mean in general. That's why I don't read YouTube comments either.over a year ago

I accept Honey Lemon as a Latina character. I don't accept Princess Sofia as being the first Latina Disney princess because being half Spanish is not Latino; it's Caucasian, so she's full White. And I accept Princess Elena as Latina, even though I am also disappointed that she doesn't get her own movie.
Posted over a year ago
Because we're not. Latinos are Latin American. We are a mixed breed. Our ancestors are the Spanish and the natives that lived here in the Americas (Mayans, Incas, and Aztecs). It's like calling Kuzco and the characters from The Emperor's New Groove "Latino". They are not. They were their own race. People from Spain are Caucasian. We Latino adopted the language because they were our ancestors. But we are our own people.over a year ago
I have always said that I wanted a Hispanic princess and I even suggested that she come from Spain because Spain has a monarchy. Well, I suppose I got her and that is Sofia. But I guess what I really wanted was a Latin American princess, which would have been too hard for Disney to make since we don't have monarchy here in the Americas. But I guess I wanted them to do what they did with Tiana, just be another American that married into royalty.over a year ago
You are Latina because you come from Latin America. But I'm NOT talking about skin color. I am Puerto Rican and Colombian and I have light skin. My parents are both light skinned. My sister is half Mexican, half Puerto Rican and she came out with blonde hair, green eyes, and light skin. I am not talking about color. I am talking about Sofia not being Latin American. She's not from Cuba, Mexico, Chile, Guatemala, El Salvador, or anywhere in Latin America. So she is not Latin American (Latina). She is completely European.over a year ago
Hmmm....well most people that complain about her roots base it all on her skin color, which I find soooo wrong.....but Latin itself has European roots??over a year ago
Well, yes, but you're not going to call every European a Latino. You are directly Spanish from your grandparents. You are both Spanish and Latina. My grandparents were straight from Puerto Rico or Colombia. Only some time a long, long time ago, were my Spanish ancestors with the natives of Puerto Rico (the Tainos) and that's how my Puerto Rican family came to be. I am not Spanish or Native American though. I am Latin American. I am the mixed breed of two different races many years ago. Sofia is related to Spain from her mother's side but she is not from Latin America. She is pretty much full European. (being that Enchancia is a fictional country based in Europe).over a year ago
So, as I was strolling through Tumblr, I was reading something that one of the people working on "Maleficent" wrote. They said that once Maleficent woke up, (when her wing were taken by the king), it was supposed to be a metaphor of rape and molestation, and how it can heavily affect everyone. I thought it was just so deep and amazing that they could slide it into a children's movie.
Posted over a year ago
Idk it seems kinda dramatic that she would lose her wings forever if to really a metaphor...I would like to think that I would eventually stand back up as a woman and grow new "wings"....wait did she do that in the film?over a year ago
I just finished watching every single episode of Hey Arnold, though I saved the episode "The Journey Part 1 and 2" for last since it's meant to be the last episode but it actually was just one of the last episodes. It's my second favorite episode after "Helga On The Couch." But the ending made be SO FREAKING MAD! They had meant to create The Jungle Movie where they went and found Arnold's parents and both him and Helga become a couple. BUT STUPID NICKELODEON DECIDED NOT TO MAKE IT!

Of course. It will be the first 2015 movie I watch in theatre! I'm interested to see Lily James's Cinderella, Cate Blanchett's Lady Tremaine, and Helena Bonham Carter's Fairy Godmother. Also I haven't see any spoilers in it. I don't know the difference between the classic 1950 one and this 2015 one. Besides, I'm also looking forward to seeing Frozen Fever.over a year ago
So we all know people are making a live-action Beauty and the Beast, but I keep getting misinformation so if anyone could clear somethings up for me that'd be great. Is it still a musical like Into The Woods or is it like Cinderella and just a film? What year is it scheduled to be released, I've gotten 2018, 2016, 2020 and even 2013. -_- Are they keeping Ms. Potts and all the furniture? That'd look weird in CGI. And is it the same plot/story line. Are they keeping some music like Maleficent did?

This is the movie based on Broadway show, so almost every song from the play will be included. Emma Watson already stated she started her singing lessons. It's unknown yet when it will be released for sure. Ms. Potts and all the furnitures will be in the movie, probably in CGI.over a year ago

Am I the only one who is not looking forward to seeing the new Cinderella movie in March? I never really liked the story cause that poor innocent girl was abused, humiliated and treated like garbage by her horrid stepmother and stepsisters until she gets the prince in the end.

The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh because there are conflicts in it but not too depressing. It has amazingly enjoyable timeless characters with a simple but charming story. Sometimes we need simple things like that to help us forget about how complicated real life is. It's not stupid or targeted just at toddlers like something like Barney or Dora The Explorer. I hope you feel better.over a year ago
I just had the most epic dream where I was at Disney world with my mom n I was a toddler again, the park was empty so I got to spend the whole day with the princess face characters, holding their hands and showing me how to ball room dance...which I never get to do cuz people think im too old to get excited over face characters n not worth the line T.T

OK, so, I rewatched Tangled and I sort of don't hate it as much as I thought I did, keeping in mind I like REALLY hated Tangled. I still hate the animated, the style and the songs, but I love the characters. My opinion on Gothel hasn't changed I still love her, but Rapunzel is now my 4th favorite DP in my void of nothingness I call a list. Flynn has moved from 9th place to 6th place and Pascal... Because of a wallpost about how women in movies and shows are more overly-sexualized than the men, I'm going to list SEVERAL examples of how it's been the other way around. Jack Frost and Tooth, Kronk and Miss Birdwell, Tarzan and Jane, Shang and Mulan, both of the guys from Twilight and Bella, Cornelius and Thumbelina, Flynn and Rapunzel, Naveen and Tiana (even though I think Tia is HOT), Christian and Anastasia (Fifty Shades of Grey), *continues to type in comments*
Posted over a year ago
Kovu and Kiara (yes, they made an animal seem sexy to girls), Gaston with both Belle and the Bimbetts, Zuko and Mai, Mako and Korra (even though Korra is with *SPOILERS* Asami now), Hiccup and Astrid (in the second movie), Wolverine and any woman that the movies put him with, Guy and Eep, Jim Hawkins and any other female in the movie, and Lanchpad from Ducktales is more sexualized than any of the other characters on the show. Those are just the onesI can think of off the top of my head and I might name some more later. So I don't see the women being sexualized as that big a deal because there are TONS of times when it's reversed but that's just me. I know a lot of people will disagree with me but oh well, I don't care.over a year ago
That's because men have different expectations, their more pressured to be successful, in woman it's more highly valued for girls to be attractive while in men, they get more pressure to make money than us....example: my mother complains about how I care for my body, while my father complains about my brothers lack of interest in a job...and in the end, how success a man is can totally impact a woman's interest in him sexuallyover a year ago
Men r also pressured to have other abilities, like strength and intelligence...basicly to be impressive, which every hero or combat film portrays..woman instinctually value successful heroes and good fathers MORE than mere sexiness, cuz that's how nature made us, because faithful fathers with good resources were more useful when it came to helping us raise our babiesover a year ago

I like making lists but they are so difficult for me to order. I traumatized my 6 year-old nephew by showing him The Lion King...I guess I forgot how intense it is, or maybe I assumed it would be okay, since my little brother was fine watching it at age 5, but kids aren't all alike. We watched about a third of the movie, and near the part where Scar was first assuming the throne, I noticed he was crying. He told me to shut it off, which I did. He was both scared and sad... It's all right, you didn't know. Like you said, most kids watch it as young as five without any problems, so you couldn't have known he would react the way he did. If he made it clear he was distressed and you ignored him and made him keep watching anyway, then you should feel ashamed. (Multiple adults did that to me when I was little.) The fact that you respected his limits and turned it off when he asked (and went the extra mile to make him feel better) is what's important. You're fine. I know it's hard not to feel guilty, but you have no reason to. Don't worry. =)over a year ago
It's not really that big a deal. Kids at any age can be scared of even the silliest of things. My cousin used to be afraid of the birthday song when she was 6 and she didn't even know why. My niece used to be afraid of the Cowardly Lion from The Wizard of Oz (ironic, ain't it?). So don't feel bad. Some kids are afraid of certain things and eventually grow out of it in their own time. Don't worry, be happy!over a year ago
^No it really isn't a big deal, but it was Disney related, soooo yeah. Oh, that "Scarred" comment was a bad pun, not a serious comment. XD Thank you, Tygers. :)over a year ago
Trust me, that's not as bad as having the 9 year old daughter of your Mom's friend watch Hunchback of Notre dame. There was a gathering at our house a few years ago and she was the only kid, so I gave her a big of movies to choose from. I went upstairs later to find her watching HOND, having no idea it was even in the bag. I personally never found TLK scary, but of course every kid is different. I know you understand it's not a bit deal anyway, at least it wasn't HOND. xDover a year ago

So I've been thinking about the upcoming movie Moana. According the the wiki it'll mainly be an adventure with Moana sailing the seas. And I've been trying to consider why she'd be sailing in the first place. She's supposed to be only fourteen, so I'm gonna assume she doesn't have parents since why would they ever let her go at that age? Maybe she's sailing to find them and learn more about her family?
Why do you think she's sailing around the world? Just some fun speculation!

This is what I read.: "The main character will be Moana Waialiki, a sea voyaging enthusiast, and the only daughter of a chief in a long line of navigators. When her family needs her help, she sets off on an epic journey. The film will also include demi-gods and spirits taken from real mythology."over a year ago

I meant to say this yesterday, but I forgot. I'm going to Orlando this weekend. Don't get too excited, I'm helping my mom with this show she has down there on some days. Only one thing-I'm sorta scared of flying. Any advice?
Posted over a year ago
Here's why I'm scared of flying-when I was 13, I was returning home from Las Vegas and suddenly, the plane started getting bumpy. It scared the S**T out of me! My mom said it was just turbulence, even though I had it in my head that we were going to crash. I guess it's just the inner 13 year old in me. But if y'all have any advice, that'd be greatly appreciated!over a year ago
uh i have my issues with flying too...but relax exercises are very helpful, also keep in mind that statistically, flying is one of the safest mode of transportation.over a year ago
I fly pretty much every year, yeah turbulence cane be scary...the best advice I have is always try to sit closest to the front of the plane, turbulence always feels the most intense towards the back...also, breathe! Oh and welcome to Florida :)over a year ago
Thanks guys. My mom said I'll be fine. She also said I'm still freaked by what happened the last time I flew. Oh, and, thanks for the early welcome LupinPrincess!over a year ago
I know not everyone here is a fan of musicals, but I would really like to make March the month of musicals on here. Knowing that a lot of Disney films have been put on Broadway and made into stage productions, it'd be cool to share with everyone the information on all of them, their composers, etc. Anyone else think this might be a good idea? It's okay if you guys don't really want me to start it up :x

I finally did it! I saw the SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water. There were a lot of things I didn't expect but they were still good in a way. It was not perfect but still good.

I was in Hollywood Studios yesterday, taking a picture with the actual carriage from the new Cinderella movie (which was pretty cool), and the Sorcerer Mickey hat is almost completely gone. I wonder what they'll build in its place. Luckily, it was still mostly there when I went for the first time a few weeks ago.

A good weekend, I finally went shopping, but I skipped out on watching the spongebob movie cuz it was super full of kids! I don't have enough patience for that...I'm gonna try again maybe during their school hours xDover a year ago
Today the weirdest thing happened. At about 12 today, I made a poll on the Childhood Animated Movie Heroines club asking if people liked Foghorn Leghorn or Marvin The Martian better. I left to eat at a Mexican restaurant with my family but when I came back, I noticed that the poll had been moved to the Looney Tunes club. So I had to remake the poll on the CAMH club because the Looney Tunes club isn't as active. This is SO WEIRD! Has something like this ever happened to anyone else?

Maybe Fanpop is under a glitch. Once, I tired to come to this forum and the Star Wars: The Clone Wars forum and it took me to the X-Men club/forum instead. Like a said, it's probably a glitch.over a year ago
Would guess the same thing as Mongoose, but why post it there? It has nothing to do with the club? Club activity doesn´t justify posting random stuff in clubs, that´s why there are so many..over a year ago
While I agree that it's a little out of place on the CAMH club, there are so few active clubs right now that you might as well post it on one of the few active ones.over a year ago
There's a new show called "Star vs the Forces of Evil" and the main character Princess Star Butterfly is the most hyperactive and reckless princess i've ever seen!
I forgot how great of a princess Ariel is. Every time someone says something bad about her, I just love her more (weird..). Anyways, I'm putting together a big Ariel article to be seen in the future soon!

Looking forward to it. I just watched TLM two days ago. It's a masterpiece, though I must say I love the movie a bit more than I love Ariel (I definitely like her, though)over a year ago
I made some DP cartoons (hand drawn) inspired by Pocket Princess and I can't wait to show them to you all. I didn't used colors , I shaded them as I made hand drawing after ages and I had lost all my colors xD

Fox News on Frozen: "It would be nice for Hollywood to have more male figures in those kind of movies as heroes"
WHAT!?!? WHAT!?!?! Fox is seriously complaining about frozen for being a female empowering movie??? Is that not the most republican thing uv ever herd? Well what can u expect from Fox News! And frankly are they digging themselves a hole or what, complaining about the most popular kids movie, and about that!? I hope the back lash against them is harsh!!
Posted over a year ago
OH MY GOD! I'm furious right now, seriously, one of the problems Frozen had was that they had too MANY men in the movie! In Snow Queen, there are many female characters, but in Frozen they replaced them all by men, so that the only girls in the movie were the two sisters!over a year ago
Welcome to the internet. Hate to gross anyone out, but on a tampon comercial for women empowering women, there are so many boys complaining about how they have no comercials empowering them... it's definitely interesting to see.over a year ago
12 years ago today my little brother died. He was a newborn, so I didn't get the chance to actually know him, but we held him and took many pictures. He was slightly deformed because he had trisomy 18 (a cell error), and would have had development problems if he had lived. I was 6 years at the time, but I remember it so well, getting excited about the new baby, and then being told he died. All those feelings are creeping back now.
Sorry for being too personal. How is everyone, today?

I'm so sorry Mallo, it must have been horrible. I can't imagine how I would feel if that had happened to me, my brother means so much to me even though I don't show it to him very often. I'm glad you were blessed with another boy though!over a year ago

Yesterday I watched Robin Hood (1973) and it's such a nostalgic movie for me, it was one of my favorite movies growing up and Maid Marian was my favorite animated character as a child, I still love her so much, I founded myself repeating some of the lines, it was the first time I saw the movie in English though, but I founded it kind of weird that Little John has an american accent while Robin Hood has a British one, but I still love the movie very much

Also today I finally watched Big Hero 6 for the first time and what a fantastic movie it was, not yet sure where it'll be on my favorite Disney Classic list, but surely in the top 5 because I thought the movie was better than Frozen, the characters are just amazing, Baymax is the most adorable character ever and Honey Lemon is now one of my favorite Disney Females, she's such an amazing character <3over a year ago
I completely agree with everything you said. I recently watched Robin Hood, for the first time in English and even though it was kinda weird getting used to the new voices, it's still a very nostalgic movie for me. Especially the songs, I almost can't hear them without becoming too emotional.over a year ago
I am SO excited for 101 dalmatians diamond coming out on bluray in just a few days!
I know it's not a princess movie, but it was my very favorite as a 5 year old...I was so obsessed that eventually my parents got me and my brother two dalmatian puppies! Rocky and Tulouse. Even today my family has a special fondness for the breed and I can't wait till I have the means to have a dalmatian again, but for now, I'll settle for the bluray

Sorry this is OT but did anyone hear about Harper Lee finally writing a sequel to To Kill A Mockingbird with grown-up Scout? it's one of my favorite books of all time so I'm really excited.

I didn't know that there was supposed to be a sequel to Kill A Mockingbird. I'm not sure how I feel about this. I mean, on the one hand there isn't much of a point in my opinion but on the other hand Harper Lee is a great writer. But with that out of the way, To Kill A Mockingbird is one of my all time favorite books EVER! I'm glad that they required us to read it during our junior year in high school because it's AMAZING! I even asked for a copy of it for Christmas the year after our class had finished the book.over a year ago
I'm just letting you guys know that I'm going to be making a video about the hate Ariel gets. Me and cruella have been doing this with characters we both like and then responding to each others videos. Like in this case, I'm going Ariel, then she's doing Cruella De Vil, then I'm doing Cruella, and finally she's doing Ariel. I'm just letting you guys know that I am a little harsh in my video, though not to a point where I call people who hate Ariel morons *continues to type in comments*

I was brutally honest in my video because it is kind of a personal thing for me but if I offend anyone in my video I want to apologize in advance. I don't think I was that bad but I was blunt, so I might offend someone, so if I do when I finish uploading my video then I'm sorry. I just think people make her out to be worse than she is, like she's a heartless monster. A few years ago I did the same thing with Naveen but I know now that was wrong. I still hate Naveen but I no longer make him out to be worse than he is. So I hope you guys will check out my video when it's finished uploading, like it, and check out some of mine and cruella's other character review videos. Please and thank you.over a year ago
Done. Also, I just watched this movie, finished 5 minutes ago. Beautiful movie. It's got the whole package. Even teared up a bit at the end, not sure why. Now I'm thinking of seeing The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning , since I'm in such a mermaid mood. I'm one of the few who love it (and the second one) as much as the original. <3over a year ago
I made this Rapunzel fan art. What do you think about it? I'm not an expert or anything, I just did it for fun. First I drew it by hand and then I edited it with PicMonkey. Hope you like it! :D
Last night, since I've been obsessing over Lola Bunny lately, I decided to watch Space Jam. I'm aware of it's flaws but I still absolutely love it. I will admit there are some bad jokes, the saliva being seeable (especially with Daffy) is disgusting, the live-action scenes are boring as hell, they made Sylvester only obsessed with Tweety and have no other character when he was more than just that, and Lola has a criminally short amount of screentme. *continues to type in comments*
Posted over a year ago
But it does have some great animation, they stay true to the Looney Tunes characters (except for Sylvester), a lot of pretty funny jokes, the story is weird but is still engaging (at least for me), and it introduced one of my favorite Looney Tunes, Lola Bunny. My favorite character is Bugs Bunny, who is one of my favorite fictional characters of ALL TIME! Some people say that Jordin is a bad actor but technically he both is and isn't. He's not playing a character, he's playing himself and this is how he acts in real life. He doesn't make too many facial expressions and always talks in a monotone voice. So he's really doing a good job because he's playing himself and not a character, which is what he was supposed to be doing. I wish Lola had more screentime but I understand why she doesn't because she was a new character and they were afraid she'd steal attention from the other characters.over a year ago
Though I think she should have been written more like Babs Bunny from Tiny Toons but I still ADORE Lola. So despite it's problems, I love Space Jam and I always will!over a year ago
We know, dear. We all know you love Lola. That doesn't mean we're going to love her too, or that we want you shoving that love down our throats every two seconds. Not everyone is going to love her. I implore you to accept it and move on.over a year ago
Yesterday I watched The Aristocats and I really love that movie, it's imo one of the funniest Disney Movies yet it has a great story, fantastic music, amazing songs and overall great characters. It's quite amazing that two of my favorite Disney actors both voices a character in this movie, Sterling Holloway voices Roquefort and Phil Harris does both the singing and speaking voice of Tomas O Malley *continues in the comments*

But both are famous for other roles, Sterling Holloway is more famous for voicing Winnie The Pooh and Phil Harris is more famous for doing the voice of Baloo, but both does a great job in this movie aswellover a year ago
U know the aristocats was one of the first VHS's I owned, because it's my only disney VHS in Spanish, which was my first language...so I'm actually accustomed to all the Spanish voicesover a year ago
The Aristocats is cute but really bland. The main characters are likable, the songs are good (though mainly Everybody Wants To Be A Cat), and all of the actors do a great job. But the villain is lame, the animation isn't very good, and it's a very generic and standard kids movie. But that's not to say that I don't understand why you love it. I have absolutely no shame towards anyone who likes it. I like it too but it's not really fantastic in my opinion. Not one of my personal favorites but I do think it's worth a watch for those of you who either haven't ever seen it or just haven't seen it since you were a kid.over a year ago
