I just finished watching Tau, a sci-fi/semi horror film on Netflix and...wow the synopsis Netflix used did NOT do it justice. The movie is about a woman who is kidnapped from her home by a sociopathic scientist who is running tests on her and he keeps her prisoner in his house where he has his AI, Tau, keeping an eye on her when he's not home and the woman and the AI actually become close when she teaches the AI about the outside world. I was just watching parts of The Black Cauldron, yesterday, and then I compared it to the trailer for Frozen II. It strikes me that I do not like the CGI much at all. The skin looks so plastic-like, and the "feel of a book coming alive" is totally absent. I just don't like CGI much, now. I liked the hand-drawn features, and--- aside from Tangled, the Series, none of that exists anymore... I just feel like less and less effort is being made to make a movie, especially a cartoon movie. Another thing that has come to my attention since Moana officially joining the lineup. Does it bother anyone else that we haven't had a clearly designated DP villain since Gothel? Anybody watch those Disney Princess Comics in Motion on the Disney Princess official youtube channel. They're adorable! I'm so glad they actually remember that Pocahontas has a playful and childish side and don't just portray her as this serious stoic. (cough, Pocket Princesses, cough) My only gripe is whenever do they these "in-between the events of the film" Beauty and The Beast stories, that crap can get a bit jarring, you know.
