Watching a Disney marathon with my beau, and recently learned that he loves "Dark Age" Disney films like The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Robin Hood, The Aristocats, The Rescuers, etc. He loves the scratchy animation, music, and story-telling. After watching a few films I realized they really do have a lot of visual creativity that got lost when Disney decided to make serious Oscar-chasers each time, and silliness that ended when Disney started taking themselves too seriously again. =( Posted over a year ago

I know people will disagree with me, but I don't it would've mattered if Ariel had saved the day or apologized to her father after the climax. She still would have a lot of haters. Look as Merida, she's very similar to Ariel and even was in a similar situation to her, apologized to her mother and she still gets a lot of hate. My theater club at school tomorrow starts, and the play we're doing this year is Peter Pan. I was talking to one girl who was African American, and she told me, "maybe this time I'll have a better chance." I didn't understand what she meant, so I asked. She said, "well a lot of plays are centered around white people, and other races usually don't get main parts in a play. I've been needing new clothes recently, and have been thinking about my favorite non-official Disney princesses (like Eilonwy and Esmeralda). Mary Costa, Aurora's voice actress, originally had a southern belle country accent and they had top train her to lose it when they casted her as Aurora. I find it kind of ironic that someone with a thick country accent has this very opera like voice.
