You’re right, thanks for your kind words. I can say that everyone here has their own degree. I think you're able to use words with extreme grace, it’s a quality I envy you :-).
About humor, my father was a great humor teacher. He was a very ironic man who always knew how to see the light side of life. He has never left himself overwhelmed by the events but he was able to survive facing them with great humor. He had the great merit to play down so he could be compassionate to his own faults and, consequently, to the failings of others. This was a quality that made him very agreeable and I remember that, when he passed away, the words of my (broken) son were: my grandfather has always been an example for me, he is the person that I want to be.
I believe that, in its simplicity, this is the greatest recognition that a human being could deserve.

About B. Streisand I agree, she is a great singer, actress and director. One of her best movies is The Prince of Tides. Also the Nick Nolte performing is fantastic, heartbreaking.

I stop at this point because I cannot fathom that House and Cuddy end in any other way than together.

The ending of this movie was sad and inspirational at the same time. Maybe the ending in House's story will be similar.

@Fran2 - It sounds as if you carry a huge piece of your father's spirit. You are a perfect combination of romantic and super hilarious and those qualities are rare to find these days

I just got home from work and was very disappointed to see "fans" bash HL (not on this website) but on some others after he received his Emmy nom...very disappointing and unnecessary IMO.

Also, this pic of House shaping clay is sensual to me as well, bc clay is soft & cool, a material completely open to the maker’s touch & intention. Anyway, let’s just say, “intestines” aside, I would love to be in “clay therapy” with House, tho now I sound pervy, in trying to make a point...

Per your request, I posted 2 pics..as tiny “taste.” Really, my husband is the professional artist, a sculptor. His exhibition work is a bit difficult to understand, unless I were to write a few pages.

@tammy, I know you like that film, so I must try to view it sometime. Nick Nolte is really impressive in his more serious films. Streisand’s voice is one of a kind. My mom had a great live album of her singing in Central Park, I remember playing it loudly & pretend singing along..as IF!

I took a quick pic for you..in my unpainted studio. 3 vase forms by my husband..he likes very organic type surfaces..as if lifted out of the sea. 3 little bowls by me, made on the potter's wheel, glazed & fired. I really just make things for fun, satisfaction, relaxation..or to give away to friends & family. As I mentioned, James's exhibition work..is very much different, often very large..mainly abstractions of the human form. He also just makes "functional" objects..for fun and to explore surface & glaze colors more easily.

Actually, I'm an art conservator, not an artist. It seems funny to post this..but to "show & tell" you, this is what I'm working on..now through October, fixing this "broken" man..ha ha. Really, this is 8 feet tall, all made out of clay. The (woman) artist who made it recently died..her work is quite valuable. She did larger than life sculptures about "people," like this "Seated Buisiness Man." It is taken apart now, in 16 large sections, and now I'm repairing all of the surface areas that have been damaged, chipped, broken, lost..to make it like new again. Anyway, if you can believe it, this is what I do for a living.

@bh – what a beautiful and impressive work! modeling with hands, create an item that remains or be able to adjust and restore objets d’art is one of the most exciting experience I could imagine. Really great, thanks for showing it. Like @tammy said The Broken Man is a little House=like indeed. :-)

@bluehue That's quite fascinating and impressive what you do for a living. LOL, we should all do a show and tell of what we do. I wish I had a studio to work in. Wait. I work in a studio (TV) but not an art one. I used to paint with oils on canvas, but had to sort up give it up after my son was born. Mainly because of the fumes and it takes forever to dry. But I might go back to using acrylics. Who knows?
