Hey guys, sort of a random question but does anyone know how Soundcloud works? Is it free? How do I upload things? The website is sort of confusing to me yet intriguing. If it isn't too much of a hassle I'd like to start an account but I wanted to know if anyone has experience with this site. That is all :)

Oh, it's pretty simple, especially if you have a gmail account. It's basically just like Pandora, only you can record yourself singing covers of songs, too. All of it is free, if I'm not mistaken.over a year ago
Nothing important here, just letting you know that I'm taking a break from this site, probably just a couple of days. See you around, beautiful people.

My name is cucumber and I like to party. ACTUALLY, my name is Olivia and I just watched the new Cinderella movie, and I've got to say-- I'm fairly impressed, yet fairly disappointed. I like it, but like... Certain things aren't what I expected. I give it a solid 7/10, but I'm still eh on the subject. So what did you guys thnk of it? If you haven't seen it, then what do you expect out of it? I'm very curious. (He he he I'm a little late).

I thought it was O.k. but I wasn't crazy about it like most of Fanpop. Cate Blanchett was wonderful as always and I liked some of the other characters and I think it improved upon the original but some parts underwhelmed and bored me. Still, overall a nice film, I'd probably also give it a 7/10.over a year ago
It's an okay movie. Not exceptional or anything. But it's an okay watch. I feel like I'll be saying these same statements for all of the live action movies...unless they are way poor. In which case, I'll dislike them. I mean, both Maleficent and Cinderella were just "okay" from my point of view. I've yet to be "wowed."over a year ago
Personally, I thought it was amazing. High quality and classic, with that modern touch. The characters were enjoyable and likeable. Way better than Maleficentover a year ago
I choose not to see the princesses as symbols or representations but as characters, as girls....girls who have wants and flaws and personalities, girls who make mistakes and learn....I think when people see them as symbols, ex. a feminist symbol, they become more judgmental and they start to expect things out of them to whatever their own ideal is...and I think theirs already too much of that in the world, everyone has a opinion on what everyone should or shouldn't be...(continue in comment)
Posted over a year ago
But it's wrong to expect everyone to live just one way...if a girl wants to be a girly house wife, she shouldn't be judged, if a girl wants to be a lone tomboy, she shouldn't be judged....some people think it's strange when I tell them that I love every princess, while most people tend to just like the girls that fit their own....I kind of see them as people, not symbols, so I tend to be more forgiving the way I might forgive a person in real lifeover a year ago
I've always viewed them as their own person, but strongly I feel I'm personifying an idea too much, so I keep it a happy medium between symbols and complex people.over a year ago
Today I watched Frozen with not only my mother and my father, but also with my oldest brother, his girlfriend and their two children and it's such a wonderful movie. My niece was so adorable during the movie, she's only 4 months old (soon 5 months) and she's proably the most optimistic baby I've ever met, she actually reminds me a lot of Snow White (who is my favorite Disney Princess)

I'm just not sure if I'll have the time..I was hoping I'd get it done this week since I had Spring Break, but I went to New York City and afterwards Pennsylvania to visit my grandparents and just got home today. Still I have till Tuesday so I can try and fit it all in! I think there might be some shifts on my list-I see Snow and Jas moving down and Cinderella and Merida moving up, but we'll have to see :)

my life has been really tough recently. My grandma has been very sick recently and it's really stressful. I saw my niece last week and she was treating her dad just like Ariel would. So I watched The Little Mermaid today, and Ariel just really bugged me. Why didn't she listen to her dad? He obviously knows what is best for her! I understand that she was a little rebelious like most teens are, but the recital was obviously very important to her father. I would do anything to help my dad, and the fact that she doesn't even remember proves that she doesn't care for him at all! She is so much worse than Merida and I don't think that she should be allowed on the line up.

I was reading through old articles and poll comments and honestly Ariel haters need to CALM DOWN and get over themselves! These long drawn out paragraphs about a character they hate! I saw someone wrote THREE long comments about how awful Ariel is! I mean, you THAT much off of one movie? Even I can't waste that much energy on Merida and I'm willing to admit nice things about Merida!
Honestly, the overwhelming hatred for Ariel is kinda pathetic.

The Ariel won't admit ANYTHING positive about Ariel, nothing! I'll always be the first to admit that Merida is beautiful, her relationship with her mother is well written and I like her character development. And in the second half of the movie, she seems like the type of cool chick I'd want to hang out with. Ariel's detractors won't even take one or two sentences to say SOMETHING positive about Ariel. Whenever I bring up Merida, even if it's mostly negative, I do take the time to say positive things. Go back and look. Sorry for the overly long response :)over a year ago

You know on that recent poll I made, I actually wanted to type "Elsa is a better representation of not needing a man than Merida". I just didn't want to make seem like I'm picking on Merida, I've been doing that a lot lately.
I don't think Elsa is that annoying god awful stereotype of "Strong Independent Woman and I dont't need no man" but I think she's a good representation of a character, male or female, not needing marriage/romance/love interest as apart of her story.
Posted over a year ago
I disagree a bit. I think Merida is a better representation of singledom. Elsa is crippled with anxiety, so her not needing a man, but family love, is truly a default position of the storyline. Whereas, Merida chose not to take a suitor, and that was an active choice on her part. Mulan is all right in choosing to protect both her family and her country, but doesn't need a man to complete her, as she is a "full woman" in her own right. Mulan has a personality that does not have to seek either type of love ( romantic or family), as she is pursuing her own self-worth. Mulan could have done without Shang. Mulan even left Shang in the dust with the emperor. So I tend to find Mulan 1000% more appealing than Elsa and Merida.over a year ago
Elsa is fine as a feminist icon, but so is Merida. And really... Isn't this whole feminism "hate Merida and Ariel" and "Love Tiana and Elsa" played out... isn't hating Merida played out... Isn't complaining about feminism in general played out... If so that explains the lack of comments. If not-- WHY ARE WE STILL TALKING ABOUT IT? Okay, there is something that I'm wondering. How will we know if Anna and Elsa will be added to the line-up? I know this post has been made a thousand times but how will we? I mean, Tinkerbell was originally a Disney Princess but was removed to have her own franchise and Giselle was supposed to join but wasn't because they'd have to pay Amy Adams a royalty every time Giselle was used in marketing. So how will we know if it's been long enough to know that they won't join? *continues to type*

I mean, on Wikipedia they're not being featured as upcoming Disney Princesses like Rapunzel or Merida were. Frozen actually has it's own franchise page on Wikipedia. Anybody wanna shed some light?over a year ago
I know this is going to be an unpopular opinion, but I think we should stop talking about Anna and Elsa until their coronation, if it even happens at all. It doesn't seem right to talk about them when they're not official, especially since we don't talk about Tinker Belle, Giselle, etc.over a year ago
Okay, so first it was confirmed they will join before the movie premiere, but they were supposed to join in early 2014 back than. So of course this is no longer confirmed, because Frozen is now it's own franchise. We will know for sure when Moana will debut. They won't make Moana 12. princess, and Anna and Elsa 13. and 14., if she was created after them.over a year ago
To be quite honest, I disliked it when people started uploading Frozen stuff to this club, because they aren't official and you shouldn't assume that stuff, really I sort of wish people would wait or check facts or something other than whatever they've been doing.over a year ago
To be honest, I was a little upset when people start to uploading stuff with Anna and Elsa here and wrote comments like "they are almost official" etc., because I remember that back in time before Merida's coronation, she wasn't really liked here so everytime someone said something about her, or put her in the poll or her pictures in gallery, people insulted that person, but now it's okay to post about un-official princesses because Frozen is liked? So yeah, it was little un-fair, but I wasn't against it. But right now, I feel that putting Anna and Elsa in the gallery or polls should really end. I mean, it's been three years people and they are still not official. If we post about them, why not about Esmeralda or Megara?over a year ago

I just finished re-watching all 11 DP movies. Just finished Brave and I don't flat out dislike Merida anymore. I don't ever want to watch the movie again for a long time and she's still my least favorite, but she's grown. My problem with Merida is that in the first half of the movie, she's an girl power stereotype, SUPPOSED badass, "anti-Disney Princess" walking cliche of both Princess and Teen Girl movies in general. The second half she's a likable character, cool chick but DAMSEL IN DISTRESS!
Posted over a year ago
So as you can see there's no point in the movie where I can be 100% on board with Merida. She's either a manifestation of what anti-DP fans want with bunch female empowerment stereotypes (Dress Ripping and Bad Table Manners=Feminism!) and also borders on being a heartless disrespectful little brat OR she's a funny, cool tomboyish chick, but also a worthless Damsel in Distress who needs her mother and brothers to bail her out THREE SEPARATE TIMES.over a year ago

does it bother anyone else that most of the princesses are marketed in their ballgowns except for Rapunzel and Jasmine? They just get their regular, everyday clothes. May as well market Aurora in her gray dress and Belle in her peasant outfit too and the like.
Posted over a year ago
I do find that odd. Actually, that was the random question that popped into my head, yesterday. (Great minds think alike, lol?) But they also always market Mulan in her confinng matchmaker's getup, instead of her heroine apparel from the end of the movie. Disney isn't very uniform with the lineup. As for Jasmine, she never had a gown in the movie, since Agrabah was set in the Middle East. But I have no idea why Punzie would be stuck in her purple--- but my reasoning is that Disney wants to market the long-haired Rapunzel, not the short, brown-haired true Rapunzel. I think it's all sales figures based.over a year ago
I've always wondered about that, too. I think they market the DPs in their most recognizable outfits, but it's still kind of strange to me that they're not all dressed to the nines.over a year ago

Posted over a year ago
I agree with you, the pink dress has always underwhelmed me. I consider it the most boring, generic looking gown of any of the princesses, the new blue one that she has is much nicer. I like that it has more detail, a more flowy and modern feel, and that it matches her better because it reminds me of the ocean plus it looks better on her.over a year ago
They don't even get the purple color right for Rapunzel's normal dress ( all of the time). Sometimes the purple is too dark. Redesigns always irk me. hahahaover a year ago
I know what you mean, LupinPrincess, since Ariel's pink dress (as mentioned before) is a combination of existing dresses, BUT, I like the dress. I love the off the shoulder look on her, as well as her simple but pretty earrings and hair piece. The accessories really complete the look. Gosh, she's so cute in that scene. Cute outfit, but I can understand why it isn't everyone's favorite. I don't mind the redesigns either.\over a year ago
I decided to delete that previous post about Merida, it just gave me a headache reading through it. Even though the fact she's not a legend or fairytale and she doesn't sing are still one of lesser reasons why I dislike her.
Now, I hate it when people nitpick about the line-up but I also hate it when people have this "I don't care" attitude when it comes to the line-up and Merida's inclusion kinda represents that.

I disagree, I actually would like them to add more, I'm already getting bored with 13 lol. I love Merida and Anna so I love their inclusion and Elsa is an interesting addition as well.over a year ago

Do you ever feel like you see so much more in a Disney movie than most people do, and when people criticize that movie you feel like you wish people saw it the way you do? I feel like that with Tarzan and HOND, or pretty much most of my favorites. There is so much I love about those movies, but I really don't know how to explain it.
Posted over a year ago
Yes, I feel like that with a lot of Disney sequels that I consider to be up to the standards of the theatrical movies (not all of the sequels of course) like Scamp's Adventure, Enchanted Christmas, Simba's Bride, Return To Neverland, and so forth. I also feel like The Princess and The Frog needs A LOT more appreciation. I actually recently found out that Tiana is also based off a real person who was a female African American that wanted to own a restaurant that lived in New Orleans during the same time period. So I know how you feel.over a year ago
I completely understand what you mean. I feel that way about several films. Oh, and KataraLover, that's really interesting, I hadn't heard that before.over a year ago
I know what you mean! I like to "lose" myself in the movies. (I probably sound like I'm on weed when I say that...XD) Certain movies are so mesmerizing, and when I watch them with other people, I sort of wonder if they "get" it the way I do. Tarzan is one of my favorite movies of all time, and to be honest, I don't have a single complaint about it. Beautiful movie. PATF and HOND are very good as well.over a year ago
Oh my God, that's how I feel about Brave. In fact, that's also how I feel about Merida being the 1st Pixar princess. People keep saying "She's Pixar." and I'm like "Disney OWNS Pixar, you dorks!".over a year ago

I feel stupid for asking this but I never knew what "fold" meant in cooking. You know when Fauna said "Three eggs, fold in gently.... Fold?" What does folding eggs even mean?
Posted over a year ago
It basically means to mix very gently. Like instead of stirring the ingredients you use spoon to almost gently toss them together. I actually made a cake one time that said to fold everything, and I had to ask my mom what it meantover a year ago
Ok, I just listen to both Ilene Woods and Lily James' rendition of A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes, while I think that Woods is the original, hers is very jazzy considering it to be in the 1950's, Lily James's version sounds heaven!!

Your sister has good tastes. Mulan is not a girly girl but I'm not sure if she is a tomboy, she's tough and fits in with the guys so maybe she's sort of a tomboy. Merida is more of a tomboy though imo.over a year ago
I don't think she fits in with guys. She just happened to befriend a few. same with the princesses in the sequel. People seem to forget she was a TERRIBLE man. She had no idea what men act like! I would say she's not girly but not boyish either. just feminine, and not extremely so. she has no real tomboyish qualities like Merida or Jasmine.over a year ago
I think she is just herself. Its the point of the movie that her gender didn't matter or the stero-types attached. I think calling her a tomboy is a disservice to her character and undermins the message of the movie. So, essentially, I agree with your little sister.over a year ago
Omg! I just found an epic disney princess book that's full of new images and posters, including rare images or redesign Pocahontas Mulan and Merida! I could scan the crap out of this book for u guys! But it's gonna take a while...if I can get alot of thumbs up on this post, I'll consider doing the work

I saw The Great Mouse Detective for the first time in years today. I thought I might find it boring because I wasn't really into it when I saw it once in elementary school (and saw only one or two scenes online before) but it's really good. I see why it's popular with people online. It sucks that it's one of those Disney movies that will never be marketed or get toys. BBC's Sherlock is really popular now and I'm sure they could sell some TGMD toys to those Sherlockians if they tried.

I actually don't really get the "hype" when I watch the movie it just feels really rushed...when I was a kid the only scene that really interested me was the bar scene...lol...the rest kinda scared me or was creepyover a year ago
Today I saw Dinosaur and wow the movie is so fantastic, but WAY too underrated, the music is perfection, the villain is amazing, the rest of the characters are also great, the scenery is so beautiful and the story is great. Also guess who voices the villain? Samuel E Wright (the voice of Sebastian from TLM), I actually thought he did a better job here, Hayden Panettiere is also in this movie, she does the voice of Suri. This can be my favorite live action Disney Movie *continues in the comments*
Posted over a year ago
It's not a live-action movie, it's computer animated. The guy voiced by Samuel isn't a villain, he's just the stereotypical, one-dimensional jerky leader. The villains are the meat eating dinosaurs. The characters are either bland or annoying (except for those two old lady dinosaurs) and the story is just so boring. The animation is impressive, the music is great, and the idea is promising. But everything else is just done so blandly! Even after watching it I couldn't remember it very much. To each their own but to me it's boring and forgettable.over a year ago
Hello :) I am from Spain and I realised that in this club people has very different rankings and opinions than in Spain . It`s really interesting for me , for example , in Spain Tiana and Pocahontas hasn´t much fans.
In Spain the most popular Princesses are Snow White Cinderella , Ariel , Belle and Rapunzel ^^

Hey guys! Sorry for not being active for the last few weeks, but I had many exams and there were many school contests where I participated, so in terms of stress, I was like a 15 year old Elsa. xD But now I can finally come here again. I even have some articles that I want to post, here and in the CAMH club. Oh, I finally watched Big Hero 6! It was...nice. But that's all.

I really loved the animation and the relationship between Tadashi, Hiro and Baymax, but besides that...the movie kind of bored me. Maybe it's because these kind of adventure movies, with robots and a lot of technology and stuff never really appealed to me, but generally I felt like it was missing something. First of all, the villain was pretty obvious imo. Also, I wanted to learn more about Hiro's friends, I wanted to see more of their relationship with him and his brother and learn more about their personalities in general. I know they're not the main characters, but they seemed pretty one dimensional to me and I was disappointed because the main reason I was so excited about that movie was the fact that Honey, Fred, Gogo and Wasabi seemed so cool. Hiro was a great character, but nothing special.over a year ago
So...props to Disney for trying something different, but I can't really see why everyone loved that movie so much. My brother said it was one of the best animated movies he has ever seen (and of course I started ranting about how wrong he is and how he hasn't watched any of the true animated masterpieces, because when it comes to him, I tend to forget that everyone is entitled to his own opinion and since I'm such a great big sister, I always try to force him to agree with me...). Anyway, maybe I was looking for the wrong things in a super hero movie or maybe my standards are too high, I dunno, what did you think?over a year ago
I agree that it's a nice movie and that Hiro is a great character but sadly nothing special. I mean, I love him sooo much, but he's not as appealing as his animation. He has boring expressions (though some of them are adorably cute :3). You're correct that the other Big Hero 4 are seemingly cool but actually not-so important. In fact, sometimes I think that the movie is enough even without Honey, GoGo, Wasabi, and Fred. The villain is very annoying and the techie thingies are unimpressive to me.over a year ago
Great to see you back. Well, I couldn't disagree more with you since Big Hero 6 is now my favorite non-princess Disney movie, tied with HoND. I love that movie and that Disney is going in different directions on no on the same tired formula of princess films. It's weird because I've seen some people say what you say about Big Hero 6 but they praise Wreck it Ralph and call it amazing but I actually feel the other way around. How you described Big Hero 6 is sort of how I describe Wreck-it-Ralph. Imagine how much I liked BH6 that I briefly considered replacing Mulan as my favorite. Lol, what you said about your brother was funny, I can just imagine the scene even though I've never seen you two. Anyway, glad you're back! :)over a year ago
Welcome back! I sort of agree with you on BH6. Good movie, but I expected too much, I think. I saw a picture of Hiro and Tadashi as little kids, so I expected a childhood scene, and I expected to see more of the other superheros. But in the end, it's a good movie, maybe it could use a sequel? Good to see you again, though.over a year ago
Good to see you back! The first time I watched BH6 I adored it, but I watched it again just yesterday and was surprisingly underwhelmed. I think it's one of Disney's better films (certainly better than Frozen imo) but not one of Disney's best. Mostly I think it would have benefited from being a little longer and having more about the supporting cast. I really liked them (especially GoGo) and really want to know more about them.over a year ago
I need to rewatch the movie before I just it. Before my love for it started going down because the humor is weak, the other characters didn't get as much development as they could have, Fred was annoying as hell (just like I knew he would be), and the villain is lame and PAINFULLY obvious. But I also love the Hiro-Tadashi-Bamax relationship along with the three characters, the animation is impressive, I do like most of the characters, and I love the message of dealing with loss. I also admire how it actually has a Disney protagonist who is out for revenge and was even willing to compromise his morals to kill someone. That is really dark and impressive for a Disney film. I also might have a bit of a soft spot for it considering that a few months ago I lost my older brother. So I think it's good but I have to see if I think it's fantastic or just good. Glad to have you back!over a year ago
I just realized Snow White is actually the most proactive and capable of the three capable classics. And she's better at taking care of herself than Jasmine.
Posted over a year ago
That's what I've always thought. Cinderella is sort of proactive too although I doubt that anyone would say that Aurora is very proactive because let's be honest, she does little to nothing that would be considered proactive.over a year ago
It's not bad per say....but if ur someone like me who doesn't like giant plot changes, or ur someone who didnt like maleficent...then don't botherover a year ago
^ I hated Maleficent but nonetheless loved Into the Woods. Probably because Maleficent was destroying Disney (and my favorite Disney movie at that) while ItW was reinterpreting Grimm's fairy tales.over a year ago
I just saw "Into the Woods" for the very first time disney's version, and later i read the stage version....and the plot was gross, unpleasant and disturbing....I really don't care for fairy tales to be corrupted like this...I prefer disneys versions any day, even alot of the old versions are better than this!
Posted over a year ago
^ I saw the film version (haven't seen or read the stage version) and it seemed to stay fairly accurate to the original tales. A lot of original tales are very dark and creepy.over a year ago
No it's not..I'm taking about act 2....I've read the original Cinderella, her prince doesn't cheat on her! Rapunzel was alright, except the play version where she gets trampled n dies...and I don't remember red ever being a thief and her grandmother dying...or jacks mother dying, or Cinderella regretting her marriage...it's all so messed upover a year ago
Ah that would explain it. I haven't seen the stage version. I personally like darker endings. And to be fair, Disney doesn't stay accurate to the original tales either, they just swing in the opposite direction making the endings happy instead of tragic.over a year ago
But cinderellas ending was never tragic even in the originals...don't get me wrong, I'm all for dark stuff, I happen to love game of thrones! But u can't just make things dark for the sake of it, if ur gonna do it u should have real purpose behind it, or teach some kind of lesson...but into the woods just seems to kill everything for the simple message of "careful what you wish for" it's not smart or inspiring...it's just lazy writing and after you watch it u just feel kindav riped off...but that's just my opinionover a year ago
Even the old version of the little mermaid is kindav nice, the one where she turns to foam but then turns into an angel cuz she spared the prince...it was sad but it's also touching, cuz it shows how great her love was...but rapunzel randomly trampled? Uuuuggghhhhh....over a year ago
I dunno I think "careful what you wish for" is a very good moral, and the best way to bring it home is to show what kinds of tragedies can occur when you don't think things through.over a year ago

Okay, so... I was going to just kind of fade away from here after I announced I was taking a break a couple weeks ago, but I thought I'd tell everyone in case they thought I was coming back, because I'm not. I'm leaving for good now. Sorry, and it's not because of inactivity or anything. I'm not going to explain why because it would be an angry rant that I doubt anyone wants to read. Maybe one day I will come back but it's not going to be anytime soon. *Continues to type.*

I just got back from seeing Cinderella. I'm just gonna get this out of the way, Frozen Fever is cute, you get what you expect and nothing more. Now to the real brilliance, the actual movie! I'm gonna try not to go into too much depth because I'm gonna try to write an article review of it. I'm just gonna say that I think this movie, though I know it will be unpopular opinion, is a million times better than the original cartoon. Why is that you ask? *continues to type in comments*

Because unlike the animated movie, it fixes the problem the original had. I don't mean that it made it edgy or anything like that. I mean that it keeps the focus on what it is supposed to, Cinderella herself and the prince, NOT THE FREAKING MICE! That is the purpose of a movie about Cinderella! To focus on her and not a bunch of filler that's basically a cheap Tom and Jerry wannabe. The film is visually GORGEOUS, the effects are phenomenal, the characters (minus the Grand Duke) are true to themselves (any minor changes to them are for the better in my opinion), the acting is fantastic, the romance is just beautiful, and it's really refreshing. It's a live-action movie to a Disney movie, actually a fairy-tale in general, that's TRADITIONAL!over a year ago
I prefer the animated one, but I wont deny that the new Cinderella is a masterpiece. The theater I was in was nearly empty (as was the theater for Insurgent, which I saw a different day). I was surprised. They didn't drastically change the story, and it had elements from other versions of the story, whcih I liked.over a year ago
If u love the 1950s version then I highly recommend it, it's a great live action remake that adds depth to the animated version and even answers some old questions. It's totally enchantingover a year ago
