You know that video on my most elegant characters I kept talking about? Well I finally know the top 20 characters that are going to be in there. I just need to rank them now which will be super hard. I already have #20-16 figured out. Some of these are characters you wouldn't know. I needed a lot of help from other people and googling. I'll put it up after the holidays. I can't believe that Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs will be 78 years old tomorrow, it's still such a beautifully animated movie and doesn't look like it's 78 years old. I'll celebrate it by watching the movie tomorrow, so in honour of that I might add some polls already today as I'll probably be busy watching the movie tomorrow and I also changed my icon for the same reason

Yeah, so I don't celebrate Christmas (Hanukkah just ended recently though and it was a lot of fun) but my family and I have this tradition of going to the movies on Christmas Day - this year it's going to be The Good Dinosaur. I've heard good things, it'll be interesting to see how it stacks up against Inside Out. :)

Hey guys are you excited for Christmas it's only a few days away it's crazy! In all my excitement it got me thinking not only how crossover parings would spend this wonderful time of year together (posted on the Disney crossover club) but also the Disney Princesses and other Disney characters continue writing in comments...

I imagine Ariel and Eric would spend Christmas Eve at the castle with a big banquet with everyone in the household then Christmas morning they take all the presents from under the tree out onto the beach and open and exchange gifts with King Trition, Ariel's sisters, Sebastian, Scuttle, and Flounder and just spend time together very different from the books I've read. How do you guys think your favorite princesses or characters would celebrate the season? I'd love to hear your thoughts and ideas :)over a year ago

My Q of the day is if you were artists/animators what would be your author appeal? I realized I have a thing for unusual, exotic names and I'm obsessed with gem stones (or rocks in general). And dare I say, I'm an ass woman, so I like drawing my guys with bubble butts. I could say more, but I'll leave it there. I also love it when guys have big eyes, so I usually give the hero larger eyes than the heroine (unless they have traits that invert that). I also like drawing collar chokers on women.

I like some of these as well. I have random obsessions with gems/rocks/birthstones as well. I like drawing characters in 'dramatic' positions or with certain expressions, but I'm no Glen Keane.over a year ago
Women with long beautiful white hair and very unique-looking eyes. They may have an usual size or eye color or just look really interesting...Also, animals behaving like animals in a story where they're not the main characters. That's just an appeal of mine.over a year ago

I hate to bring up a negative story during Christmas season but something awful happened to me. I was crossing the street listening to music (such a dumb idea) & I looked & I thought I was safe to go & I almost got hit by a truck. I'm lucky I'm fine. I'm afraid to tell my parents because they will probably yell at me. For now on when I cross the street, I am going to take my headphones off until I enter the sidewalk.

Personally, what I enjoy the most about Christmas is stuff like the decorations, the songs and the food. So many good creative recipes out there to try! I mostly enjoy making any of the sweet stuff, like cookies or cakes. It gets really creative with the coloring and the peppermint.

I don't celebrate Christmas, but I enjoy the "spirit" of the season as people make an effort to be "kinder" than they usually are during the rest of the year. And looking at holiday displays is fun, and candy canes taste good, and the "magic of thinking about others" and praying for their well-being is satisfying.over a year ago

I love both series, but personally I find The Hunger Games to be a better book, because it's story is better and it's written better. The first Maze Runner book is really good, but after that they sort of spiral off in this weird direction, at least I think so. I do love them both though!over a year ago
Oops. Wrote it in the wrong place. Anyway, I think they're both terrific young adult reads. Fast-paced action, interesting plot in both books. The middle book of the Hunger Games series (Catching Fire) was rather boring for me, and I think Maze Runner was my favorite book in the whole series.over a year ago
^ Catching Fire is my favorite in the series, personally. I can't stand Mockingjay. Also, I've never read the Maze Runner, but I've heard nothing good about the last few books in that series.over a year ago
^ I agree. The first 2 books are good (nothing amazing), but something about the 3rd one just lacked something; it felt rushed. Also I find the romance subplot really tedious, I couldn't care less about it, but I think I'm in the minority there. Overall I'd recommend the series. :)over a year ago
I came back from watching Mockingjay Part 2 and it was fantastic. It's my second favorite of The Hunger Games movies, after Catching Fire. Although I do have the unpopular opinion that the first movie is my least favorite, I've gotten used to having unpopular opinions. Anyway, it's hard to talk about this without spoilers, but I'll try. The action is great, the acting is fantastic, it's absolutely emotional, it's dynamic and unpredictable *continues to type in comments*

Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson give their A game with their performances (no pun intended), the characters are pretty likable, it's complex, and it's the perfect ending to the franchise. I will admit i can't stand people who always go around shitting on Disney but Frozen in their eyes is the only "good" film that they cheer for. I dunno, the treatment seems very much like a special snowflake attitude. "All Disney movies are lame and old-fashioned except me I'm so quirky and cute and progressive uwu". Like I watched a recent episode of the Simpsons, where they criticized Disney for EVERYTHING (complaining about the non-white Princesses, saying that they're all "alike" - CONT.
Posted over a year ago
-and that Disney just mixes up cultures when making the "ethnic princess", then complained about Mickey Mouse's cartoons not being very good...And finally it ended all up with a "good" Frozen parody. They didn't criticize the movie nor anything like that, it was almost respectful. I dunno, it really cheesed me off.over a year ago
I don't see it as often as I used to when the movie was first released, but I know what you mean. Though "recent episode of Simpsons" says everything, that show should have ended years agoover a year ago
Well, these episodes were aired around these times in last year, right in the middle of Frozen hype, so...Dunno about the Simpsons ending though. The show brings a soft comfort to my heart and reminds me of the good times I've had watching the show.over a year ago
The extra "snobbishness" surrounding Frozen fans has become old hat for me. They need to get a life and accept that not all people will "revere" that movie, nor treat it with "awe." And that is so with every movie under the sun. And that's life. As for the stinging remarks addressed at Disney/PIXAR Inc. for making up "similar characters for a franchise"--- yep, they have been doing that for YEARS. Disney recycles everything, even the wedding and dancing sequences in their films. They recycle the Bambi/Mufasa "parent-dying sequence" ad infinitum. People need to take a chill pill, already. It does not make you "an enlightened soul" for pointing out stuff that's dead obvious to anyone who is paying close attention. Ha.over a year ago
Okay, I don't think the Little Mermaid 2 is a good movie at all, but I do like the For A Moment song. It's sweet, it's melancholic, and it somewhat.."touches" me in a way? I find it soothing. Ever since I was a little girl i've loved the sea and all that stuff (thanks in part to the original mermaid film) but i never felt a deep connection to the sea in the first film. But when i see Melody yearning for the sea in the sequel and some of the instrumentals and backgrounds really take me in.

And yeah the song makes me yearn to be a mermaid. I know it sounds dumb and cheesy, but I find the underwater world to be so fascinating, i can't help but feel connected to the song.over a year ago

That happened to me with Game of Thrones last season. It was such a chore to watch, and they deviated WAY too much from the books. They mistreated characters...Nah it was too much. I'd rather just reread the books or watch only seasons 1-2, when the show was just better.

So today I watched Atlantis: The Lost Empire with my parents and it's such an amazing movie, but SO underrated. It was really funny to watch, but it had action aswell as great characters, stunning animation and amazing music probably because James Horner who previously had composed the music to Dinosaur, which is one of my favorite Disney Movies and is also one of my favorite Disney Soundtracks also did the music for this movie

Oh my gosh I LOVE Atlantis so much! It is probably my favorite non DP Disney movie and so underrated. I really wish Kida was a part of the DP lineup :'(over a year ago
^It's a good movie. It's a strange one, but that's because it's Joss Whedon influenced!!! I mean, if Kida was included, I would rate her much higher than Belle, Merida, Elsa, and some of the others. Milo is really a compelling guy, in his own way ( and he is quite similar to Aladdin).over a year ago
I remember a few months ago when I made a wallpost about how Disney doesn't do as many movies with characters of color as they could have because when they do people jump down their throats for being racist. Most people agreed with me when it came to Aladdin, The Princess and The Frog, and Mulan but not so much with Pocahontas. People still said that it was racist because it portrayed Native Americans as tree lovers and all that *continues to type in comments*
Posted over a year ago
Yeah, Colors of The Wind definitely shows that. However, ever since I've been taking my North Native American Literature class, I've been learning about stereotypes of Native Americans. In fact, I hear there are some who get offended to be called Native American. Yes, the whole nature loving thing is a stereotype for Native Americans, but I don't think that's something portrayed in Pocahontas. I mean, only Pocahontas herself seemed to be the Native American being like than and the others aren't. I mean, you can see that they do hunt fish and even in the sequel (which I rarely use to make a point) the other Native American characters are seen eating meat. So I argue that Pocahontas is really the only one acting like a tree huger and a vegetarian.over a year ago
Plus, considering the fact that the people who made this movie actually did their research on what Pocahontas' personality was like and even brought some Powhantan Native Americans to teach them about their culture that they could try to incorporate into the movie, I'd say Pocahontas isn't really a racist movie. I mean, the only thing I've seen with the other Native American characters being close to this was the whole getting mad because the white men invaded their land, cut down their trees, and dug up their Earth. But answer me this. If a new neighbor just randomly came onto your property without your permission and dug up your yard and cut down your tree or whatever, wouldn't you be mad too?over a year ago
Last night I watched An American Tail and it was pretty good. I saw it a few years ago and I thought it was just okay, but I changed my mind. This is the third time in my life I've seen it and the first time I saw it I was like 8 years old and I did enjoy it. The animation is absolutely beautiful, like most of Don Bluth's movies. A lot of scenes just make my jaw drop because of how stunning it is. It's also really emotional *continues to type in comments*
Posted over a year ago
Fievel just wants to find his family and it looks hopeless. Yes, it's frustrating when the family is really close to Fievel and nobody turns around or looks up or down to see they are right there, but when they finally reunite it's just so beautiful and touching that it makes it worth it. The songs are kind of a mixed bag. The song that Tiger and Fievel sing is really forgettable, Never Say Never is fun but not all that, No Cats In America is a very weird song because they share tragic life stories but then act like it's no big deal because they're going to America, and Somewhere Out There is a gorgeous song (but the movie version is kind of hard to listen to because the voices aren't very good).over a year ago
Villains have never been Don Bluth's strong suit and this film is no exception. He's bland, forgettable, and doesn't even appear as a villain until the last 15 minutes or so. Fievel isn't that interesting of a character, he's cute and okay, but it does annoy me that he on purpose threw his hat on deck, since that's what caused this whole mess. But he's not a bad character and is just a little kid, just not that interesting. I can get into his emotional struggle, but not much of anything else with him. The rest of the good guys are pretty entertaining. I do love the dark tone to the movie, a lot of themes it has, and the instrumental music. Okay, despite my criticisms, I do think it's a good movie, not great. I think it and The Secret of NIMH are Don Bluth's two most overrated movies. They're good but undeniably flawed.over a year ago
It also kind of bugs me that this movie has a lot of the same things that Thumbelina has but is considered a classic masterpiece while Thumbelina is considered to be either bad or mediocre. I think Thumbelina ranks the same as An American Tail and The Secret of NIMH, good but not great. I do recommend it if you haven't seen it. You'll probably even get more enjoyment out of it than I did.over a year ago
I like it when we play games here in Fanpop instead of just saying "this movie/character is great bc COMPLEX" like we're some Roger Ebert-wannabes. Like, dunno, games and imaginative situations are much more fun.

And one of the movies that appears in the special is Lady and The Tramp and it's of course the famous spaghetti scene. Also in both cases they play the original version and I've realised with this how beautiful Bella Notte actually is, I mean I've always loved that song, but it's not until this that I've actually felt really emotional when that song plays, actually I've almost cried at that point. But When You Wish Upon A Star is also really beautiful, but isn't as emotional as Bella Notteover a year ago
I think I have a snowglobe with Tramp and Lady at Tony's. It's broken in some area, but it still lights up, the glitter still falls, and it still plays Bella Notte. I have to say Bella Notte is a very "calming" song for me. I don't know why.... :)over a year ago

I saw Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 2 last night. I went in feeling excited and came out feeling upset and disappointed. I liked the action parts, the special effects and the cat's change of heart. I didn't like the bittersweet ending, Katniss's lack of emotion and worry about her mother and her sister and Peeta's quick recovery - I was waiting for one more crazy "kill, kill" outburst. I was also hoping Johanna and Katniss would become friends - there was a little hint of that but never happened.

Hmm so here I'm wondering...What do you guys think constitutes a Mary Sue? Since the term is kinda broad and some people use it loosely to describe characters they don't like. I'm watching right now a reboot of a fave series of mine, and while we get focus on our old favorite characters, this new girl has randomly appeared and she is given a lot of screen time and focus, at the expense of other characters. She also has a stereotypical "shrinking violet" personality, and her powers are similar

Frozen will be aired at Disney Channel Asia at December 6th, but once again I think Disney is too over with this Frozen premiere. They made contest about sing the Frozen songs and many repeating advertisement about Frozen things. Instead I didn't found that in any other Disney movies premiere on that channel.

@Wavesurf There is nothing wrong with calling it, "The best Disney movie of all time." It's an opinion. People say the same regarding movies like The Lion King, Aladdin, and Beauty And The Beast all the time. Someone saying it about Frozen is no different. It's in no way, "A bit much" to have a favorite Disney movie, and I'm sure you would say the same regarding your favorite Disney movie. Replying, "Ew' was just extremely childish.over a year ago
^Okay. Well, that is your opinion. I'm sorry but my response still stands. This movie is the 5th highest grossing movie of all time. It won every damn award there was for animation in sight, and has spawned the Elsa craze from here until eternity. When I say "EW," I mean "EW." I don't have to praise this movie! It would be one thing, if the fan craze died out naturally like it did for other movies ( like it did for B&theB, TLK , Aladdin, etc.) But it has not. And that is nothing against anybody personally. Isn't there any other Disney movie showing on the Disney channeI to watch? No? Well, that's very lopsided, isn't it? Yeah, it has been 2 YEARS already! I think it's high time to take your fan-love and quit rubbing it in my face! Thanks.over a year ago

Elphaba is what I call Elsa DONE RIGHT! Her character development makes perfect sense and isn't all over the place. First she wants to fit in but pretends not to care, then is happy to be with the Wizard, then realized the truth and has a change in her (while not being evil) and STAYS THAT WAY (Unlike with Elsa's Let It Go where she goes back to being a coward in the next scene), and only when it seems like her good deeds just lead to trouble she decides to embrace the idea of being wicked. Her character development is some of the best I've EVER seen! I don't enjoy her as much as Zelena from Once Upon A Time, but she's still AWESOME! Glinda is a lot like Lottie, a character I should hate but is just so funny and does have a good heart that I can't help but love her. Plus she does change in the end and her relationship with Elphaba is just wonderful!over a year ago
A MILLION TIME better than the relationship with Anna and Elsa or the relationship between Maleficent and Aurora. I feel like Elphaba has the good traits of Elsa but also has the fun and quirkiness of Anna without it being in your face. I actually didn't hate the Wizard like I thought I would because he does have some depth, but I do still dislike him. I also dislike what they did with the Tinman. But those are pretty minor complaints compared to the rest of the show, which was AMAZING! If you haven't seen it and have the chance to, I HIGHLY recommend it!over a year ago
I'm glad that you like it and had fun. I totally agree the relationship with Glinda and Elphaba is WAY better the Elsa and Anna. (I kind of liked Maleficent and Aurora relationship so it would be hard to say which ones better.)over a year ago
I went to see Taj Mahal on the weekend! It's simply breathtaking. This is the 3rd time I have went to see it and every time I see it, i find a new little story of how it is grandest the symbol of love. It never fails me to fall in love with it <3

^^ Agrabah's palace has been inspired by it and so is the name of Agrabah. Taj Mahal is situated in the cuty of Agra, India. It is one of the seven wonders of the world.over a year ago
^^ it was built by a king in the beloved memory of his dead wife, so it is considered to be one of the most beautiful symbol of love. I'm not quite sure though what you meant by gift to a bride, its a national monument and a unesco heritage site, so one can only visit it and take one's bride here for a trip as a gift. Is that what u were asking? Or were u referring to something else?over a year ago
I watched this video Frozen Musical ft.Disney Princesses by AVBYTE and it makes me so aggravated. They're acting like Elsa's the first princess with no prince, Elsa's the first princess to be the hero of her story (even though it was obious Anna, Elsa caused the problem and Anna helped her solve it) and that all the Disney Princesses never got to follow their dreams. She then starts insulting their relationships and sometimes the princess them self. Belle having stalkhome syndrome and Aurora-

being a princess. And now I'm reading the comments to see if people agree with me with no such luck, everybody starts saying "Elsa is totes a feminist.' or "Elsa is a lesbian". Okay, just because Elsa doesn't have a prince at the end of the story, does not mean she won't have one. It's just a few segments of their live not their life story, do we see Elsa dying confirming she never gets a prince? No, unless a worker of the staff confirms she doesn't get married I'm still saying this. I'm not saying Elsa needs a prince, just that it's not confirmed she has a prince.over a year ago
-___- That is so annoying. First, Elsa isn't the first without a prince, that would be Merida. And if you want to get REALLY technically, it's actually Mulan (yes, she has Shang, but their romance isn't a big part of the film and isn't important to the overall movie). Second, how the ever living hell is ELSA the hero of her story. HOW?!?! Third, never...never got to follow their dreams....I can't go on with this after that. It's pointless. It's obvious from that one comment that she (he, they??) never actually seen any of the DP movies. *roll eyes*over a year ago
Yeah Elsa fans are usually the worst part of her fandom, since they usually tend to mischaracterize her and shit on all the other princesses just to make her seem better. And in the end, they all come out looking like big ignorant fools. And granted, not everybody watches Disney films all the time like we do, but don't go around spouting misinformation about something.over a year ago
I know it, though honestly, I don't like the movie. I hate the fact that George Lucas created it as Star Wars for a female audience. It is very cliché, compared to the epic Star Wars saga, that the man, whom the girl was initially infatuated, is actually evil and the ending is whether the girl eventually becomes single or finds another man. Also, for a musical movie, they are lazy to compose original songs.over a year ago
Tomorrow I'm going to see the musical WICKED! I know people on Fanpop either love or hate this musical, but I'm SO EXCITED to see it! I wish I could've seen it with the original cast, but I guess I'll have to deal with it.

I just finished Adventure Time's Stakes and it's so good! It's nice learning about Marceline and most of her backstories. It still leaves me many questions but not plot whole wise. Like the Over the Garden Wall ones . And the main song, "Everything Stays" is genious!

I really dont see what the big deal of Games of Thrones is? Am I the only person that doesn't have it as my favorite show? There's something unappealing about it that I cant put my finger on. It just seems like one of those shows that would bore me. Also that white haired dragon princess looks like a character I'd hate and doesn't it oversexualize women in there? The fandom is really annoying too, acting like its the best thing in the world and are usually snobby nerds

Also I dont the the big deal about the Walking Dead or Pretty Little Liars either. Watched a couple episodes and I thought they were extremely boring.over a year ago
I've never watched the show, but I've read the first book. It was really good, if a bit hard to follow. You have to enjoy high fantasy to like it, and not get attached to any characters. I don't think it oversexualizes women, personally, but that's just the book. In fact there are a lot of really strong female characters in the book who aren't simply treated as eye candy for the men, which I think is amazing. There is a lot of sex though so you have to be prepared for that.over a year ago
It's an aquired taste. I've not read the books, yet. But I stopped watching the show midway through the fifth season. I own nearly all of the Funko Legacy action figures. What happened is that this series is on HBO ( synonymous with depictions of graphic violence and graphic sex) and they lost the story entirely in the fifth season.... The fifth season consisted more of killing-off characters than it did of having " a logical thread" to follow.... So, I'm no longer a fan per se. I don't consider myself a snob about it, erm. I just think the story got "bogged down in nowhere land," because George R. R. Martin never finishes what he starts...over a year ago
I know! I get what you are saying. And you know what, I;m from India, and people here are going all crazy for GOT and I;m like, huh? what's the big deal? I tried watching it, but i guess expectations are now set way above than it actually will ever deliver.over a year ago
Aw man I can like fantasy if it has a great plot and is interesting enough to keep my attention. I do like watching graphic, mature stuff though. Idk but theres just something I dont like about GoTover a year ago
I love both, though the fifth season greatly disappointed me. The books are very engaging and very interesting, they're basically deconstructions of typical fantasy cliches (though other cliches are played straight, that doesn't necessarily mean they're bad though). If you like high fantasy with a sense of semi-realism and dark themes you would like the books. And don't worry, fans always tend to hype the hell out of everything. Like how the internet is so obsessed with cartoons, but iI find the majority of the ones the Internet likes to be quite bland and overrated (Adventure Time, Over the Garden Wall, Steven Universe...). To each their opinion...I do think as a fantasy series it's better than Potter or those dumb "dark fairy tale" movies Hollywood is currently plagued with.over a year ago
Oh man, this is so dumb. i just watched a guy on Youtube make up his own Top 10 favorite Disney princesses in it, and people in the comments accused him of being racist, sexist and an asshole just because he didn't add Tiana and Merida, the "best" princesses cause they're hardworking non-white (in Tiana's case) women who don't need NO DIRTY MAN to help them. These type of princess fans are the worst imo, since they like the princesses for all the wrong reasons.

And of course they ALWAYS go around praising their faves while also shitting on the other princesses. Merida is better than those lame Ariels and Auroras and others because she fights and doesn't sing and needs no disgusting man to help her. And moms > boyfriends for these people. And tiana is better than anyone else because she's black, end of story.over a year ago
I think it's awful when people use terms like "racist" or "sexist" or "misogynist" or any of those labels just because someone has a different opinion. I think that's just wrong and so very frustrating. How lame.over a year ago
Happy Thanksgiving to you all! I feel really thankful for this club group and everyone in it. People from all over the world get together here, share opinions and are constantly trying to respect each other despite some few disagreements or even tense debates. I'm also thankful for Disney and the DP line up and so thankful that there are so many other people who also appreciate and respect the DP line up despite feminist attempts to degrade and distort them. Hope you guys had a great day! :D

God, I'm too full right now... But I'm grateful that there was such a spread of food. There are many people who are less fortunate...
