Anyone know if "Enchanted 2" is happening or when. On google search, and IMDB, it says in development, but no further details. Anyone know anything? I would like to see a sequel to see Gieselle again, and to see more nods and tributes to the classics. It was fun, and beautiful movie.
Posted over a year ago
agh I just can't think of them doing anything with it that would be original. Giselle falls into the fairy tale world? Just a reverse of the first. More stuff from the fairy tale world comes to the real world? Been done already. Dont involve the fairy tale world? Well, that was what made it unique. It's just one of those movies you cant have a sequel tooover a year ago

I didn't like Enchanted and if they do make a sequel let's hope it's better than the original. I also hope that Giselle will be less irritating. I think it would be interesting for her family to go into the fairy tale world. It sounds pretty entertaining but still not too much possibilities.over a year ago
Rapunzel, didnt have anything to do with Enchanted sequel- I least not that I ever heard. And, I am asking cause it says on IMDB that its" in development. so I was just wondering if anyone knew any further details or if its sitting in limbo"over a year ago
I did read that about Tangled as well and pretty sure that information was coming from official sources. Anyway, regarding the Enchanted sequel related debate, I would personally love for it to happen, but to revolve around Nancy and Edward's post wedding life/relationship in fairy tale world instead. Imo they were by far more rounded and admirable characters than Giselle and Robert.over a year ago

I'm shocked how many people here tell that the worst Disney Princess movie is Pocahontas, and the latest beautiful princess is Poca too. In my country, Pocahontas is a huge hit and everyone loves this film, consider him to be the greatest work of Disney. Pocahontas is also a children's favorite princess, and really there is a huge craze for Pocahontas. People also say that she is the most beautiful princess.

You're lucky! I love all the Disney Princesses so I feel a bit down when I see all of them except Mulan and Pocahontas on merchandise. I only saw very few where Pocahontas and Mulan are included. I just recently worked at Disney and saw that Ariel, Belle, Tiana, Rapunzel, Cinderella, Snow White, Merida, and maybe Aurora are the most popular.over a year ago
Do you remember in the swan princess, where after Prince Derek reunited with Odette, they planned to meet at the ball so Derek can make a vow to her, but then Rothbart found out and locked Odette up and tricked Derek into making a vow to Bridget (who was disguised as Odette)? I dreamt the same scene only instead of Derek/Odette, it was Spongebob/Sandy and instead of Rothbart, it was Plankton! He used some random small ugly purple octopus (who played Bridget).

I have just watched Brave for the first time last night. I really like it! And Merida is great. It's refreshing because she doesn't get a love interest, it's about the mother and daughter relationship and she's an original princess not based of a fairytale or folk tale or historic princess. I like her personality, I like her voice, her hair, I like how heavy her accent is. I think she's my new favourite princess! Aurora and Jasmine are still the prettiest princesses though on my list.

OKAY, ( BREATHE Alyssa BREATHE-{talking to myself}) where are you guys getting the info that " The little Mermaid" will still show in theaters just not in 3D? I am trying every search place, I cant find it. Can you help please. I dont care about 3D, I just wanted to see it. OH,let it happen. PLEASE, PLEASE, Disney GODS!!!
Posted over a year ago
Why didn't you just add this to your first post? I don't see a need for a different post on the same subject. Anyways on Imdb.com I found info that says it has been postponed, but on another website I found something that says Disney has cancelled the Rerelease b/c FInding Nemo and Monsters Inc. failed Which I find really unfair that they punish TLM b/c 2 overrated movies that get played on T.v. all the time didn't do so hot!( BTW Both of them made $30Mil) and I read that it is inexpensive to make these 3d rereleases so if it is inexpensive why not just release TLM for the fans that have been waiting almost 2 years for this! If this is true Disney really has broken my heart, also Disney hasn't really made a official comment on this so only time will tell.over a year ago
I made a separate comment, because some people saw something I didnt. So if I didnt know about this other rumor I couldnt have included it in my first post. I have a little OCD, and ADD too- I cant help it sometimes. Along with Anxiety Disorder. it Sucks.over a year ago
^ Oh ok. So yeah Disney is punishing TLM b/c the other rerelease didn't make much money, which I don't understand all of the rereleases made more then 30MIL and it's inexpensive to make them so how is this a bad thing?! I mean I understand that the Lion King made 93Mil and you know what I think if they give TLM a chance it will be the closet to The lion king's gross.over a year ago
Disney Officially hates " the little mermaid". They can make up all the excuses they want. But this is the second time something has been canceled related to it. I am bawling my eyes out right now, and wish I could tell Lasseter and Catmull, to go fuck themselves. I was looking forward to seeing my most favorite Disney movie on the big screen in September. Now they cancel " The Little Mermaid" in 3D, after they cancel back in 2010 the tour for the Broadway show. I am getting really pissed.

I'm convinced Brave only won because it was Pixar. It wasn't all that good, especially compared to movies like Wreck-It Ralph, ParaNorman and the unnominated Rise of the Guardians, which had better characterization, story, and stronger themes. Does anyone even agree on what Brave was about now?over a year ago
...NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously, all animation awards are rigged towards Pixar films now, no matter what the quality! RoTG and WiR were MILLIONS times better than Brave was,,,over a year ago
Ugh, what a rip-off! I agree with people who think either Wreck-It-Ralph or RoTG should have won the Golden Globe; not stupid Brave!! I don't know about RoTG but I saw Brave and I really didn't like it! I like Wreck-It-Ralph better but it really was emotional and for once, it has likeable CGI female characters!over a year ago
I'm happy with the DP lineup, but I wish that Mulan and Pocahontas weren't really part of it. Instead, I think it would be totally amazing if they were part of a different marketing campaign of Disney Heroines. I'd love to see more Meg, Esmeralda, and even Jane merchandise. It'd be too much to put them all together (shoving all the Heroines and Princess Heroines on a backpack would mean it would have to be as big as you) but equal amounts of attention would be a dream come true.
Posted over a year ago
Without Mulan and Poca, not only would they not get noticed, but the lineup would have an even more noticable lack of cultural diverstiy. The lineup gets a lot of flak now, can you imagine what it would be like if there was only one PoC for years until Tiana came along?over a year ago
Also, kids haven't seen a ton of hearoine movies like The Hunchback (of bla bla bla), maybe they've seen hercules, I doubt they've seen Atlantis, and i'm sure there's gotta be truth in some of my predictions. I mean, not a lot of the heroine movies are popular. And because of Pocahontas and Mulan being as a D.P. they'll get way more attention.over a year ago
My girls have see Atlantis and Hercules, but I have not let them see HOND (I don't approve of it especially the secene with Frollo and Esmeralda in the flames)...I might let them one day..maybe...over a year ago
Nah, I'm glad they are in the lineup because, you're right, they wouldn't get recognized at all with the way things are. I'm just saying I'd love it if they had a bigger merchandising campaign. The great thing about Disney is how it can range in age groups. Little girls should start with things like Princess and the Frog, and then work their way up to HOND when they're older. They've started marketing adult clothes and such featuring the female villains, but I'd love to see heroines like I mentioned earlier, as well. Yeah, they get a lot of flack for not having diversity, but that's just because people would rather accuse than actually look up facts. Aurora is German, Jasmine is Arabian, Cinderella is French...it goes on and on. ^^; I'm not saying they should remove Poca and Mulan because I freaking love them, but it is just a dream of mine to have equal, but age-appropriate merchandising for all of the ladies of Disney.over a year ago

The Planes trailer has been up for a year so it's nothing new. Turbo looks really stupid and Despicable Me 2 looks ridiculous. I think The Smurfs 2 and the Tarzan ones look interesting. I don't think the Tarzan one looks so bad, sure it's CGI but that doesn't make it bad. I don't think Tarzan looks ugly at all. Sure it definitely won't be as good as Disney's but it's still worth seeing.over a year ago
@KataraLover- That's because you don't even know the plot. There's no narrator in the trailers so you REALLY shouldn't judge the plot so easily. And nobody posted a link for Planes yet, so I thought i'd do it.over a year ago

Yesterday my English teacher thought it would be interesting for us, as a class, to discuss racism + Disney. I was excited about this, as I've been reading up on this a lot lately and thought it would be a nice debate. But I forgot my class is full of idiots. -_- I ended up having to listen to people thinking Aladdin was a gypsy from India, and people thinking the Beast is a racist character AGAINST WHITE PEOPLE. For two hours. Goodness, someone kill me now...
Posted over a year ago
The so called racism in Disney movies is an overblown debate Imho...people read too much into it, they seem to be obsessed with searching for things they can call racist...I'm actually thinking about writing an article about the issue, in order to set the record straight concerning some arguments, but I'm not sure if I want the drama. (That doesn't mean that Disney can't go wrong, they certainly did a couple of times, but some people act as if Disney had nothing better to do than hide racism in their movies in order to influence children early on).over a year ago
Why are people always trying to suck the fun out of Disney movies? I agree with Swanpride about people reading too much into stuff in order to call racist. It is also annoying that when they act like as Disney had nothing better to do than hide racism in movies to hurt children early on. Disney wasn't the only studio that made a few "racist" movies/shorts! Warner Brothers made some shorts that mocked black people before creating Bugs Bunny and gang. (And their stuff was more offensive than Disney). The original Nancy Drew books were sexist toward women and racist toward black people as well. My teacher and classmates complained how "Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry," made the white characters either a wuss or a jerk-sue. Bollywood movies always painted the British and the Americans in a negative light. Every German and Austrian can't stand the Sound of Music. Thailand also despised the King and I. So how come Disney is the only one that gets bashed A LOT?over a year ago

Finally watched Brave... it was good. Not great, but good. Merida irritated me at times, but overall I like her and think she's a good character. The animation was great, especially her hair. <3
King Fergus was my favorite :D Great character, and I loved his relationship with his daughter :3 But for me Merida was a little unoriginal (Mulan with a lot of Rapunzel and a little Jasmine), but overall the movie was good.over a year ago
It's a good movie and I love Merida but it's nothing special. All the Pixar movie are better than it except Cars, Cars 2, and especially Wall-E.over a year ago
@tiffany88, I see what you mean! I would have liked Merida a lot more if she didn't keep saying (when her mother was first turned into a bear) "OH IT'S NOT MY FAULT IT WAS THE WITCH DON'T LOOK AT ME ITS NOT MY FAULT THE WITCH DID IT NOT ME THE WITCH DID THIS IM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING" or words to that effect lol and the fact that she didn't feel any tinge of guilt/sadness when she saw her brothers were turned into bears also (and if she did it lasted a milisecond), but I still like her! And I agree with you KataraLover in that it's nothing special. It also didn't really feel like a Pixar movie to me... not saying that's a good thing or a bad thing because I'm honestly not a huge fan of Pixar, but it felt I was watching a Dreamworks movie at timesover a year ago
I loved Fergus and Elinors chemistry and it reminds me of me and my husband (except I am not so uptight)...it is super cute and sweet...He is my favorite character of the movie...My daughters love the brothers....I loved the movie!over a year ago
Can't say I'm that invested in Merida's character in paticular, but she is a nice addition to franchise and the movie was beautifully animated and had a thoughtful approach to mother/daughter conflict. Plus, of course, Elinor/Fergus, definitely one of my favourite Disney couples now:)over a year ago
Something I want to share with you guys that I keep forgetting about. According to my pop culture teacher Pixar is planning on making The Incredibles 2. I haven't seen any real proof yet but I hope it's true. I hope this time they'll actually make the movie about the entire family equally. The Incredibles focused too much on Bob if it has to focus mainly on just one it should be Violet, she's the best character in the franchise. What do you guys think about the possible sequel?

if that's true, then FINALLY!! at long last! it's not one of my favs but if there's one disney/pixar movie that deserves a sequel it's this one. if they tried hard enough with the storyline, since they can do basically anything with it, they could actually make it better than the first.over a year ago

With the feminist countdown going on, I thought the articles at this website might be interesting: link
They look at The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Mulan from an at least semi-feminist perspective. She has some interesting insights and perspectives, and there is also a summary article looking at the DPs as a whole. They're pretty well written and she has good arguments for her points. Just thought they might be interesting.
Posted over a year ago
Although her points have been repeated thousands of times on all 3 princesses, something new she brought up that I agree with is that Mulan got a man in the end (sort of) and this is somehow scene as anti-feminist. Why? Exactly as she said, for a princess to be truly independent, she has to remain alone for the rest of her life? As soon as she gets a man, she's weak? Wouldn't that be a weakness in itself? Isn't it more strong to see her getting the man, and staying a strong positive woman of equal partnership? That's why I won't give Rapunzel and Ariel a hard time for ending up with men, because it was not either of their original goals, like Mulan.over a year ago
Totally agree with you about the whole Mulan-getting-together-with-Shang thing. So, simply because a woman is not dependent on a man, she can't enjoy the company and affections of one? I actually see that view as anti-feminist. So we are saying that strong, independent women should be seen as undesirable.over a year ago
Mulan getting a man is actually a feminist point, because it says "You don't have to be what others expect of you in order to be successful in ALL areas of life". Mulan getting a man was just another triumph for her. And the messages in Ariel? This author conveniently overlooks that the "negative" messages are all said by Ursula...who is the villain, and we all know that the villains lies. The movie denies those messages, not enforces them.over a year ago
Hmm, I haven't read these articles in while, I only remembered them because of the countdown, but I think I remember what you're talking about, and I think I remember thinking that exact same thing while I read it. But yeah, I totally agree on the Mulan/ Shang thing. Isn't saying "women who get married lose their independence" anti-feminist because it says a woman will naturally become subserviant to a man if she gets into a non-platonic relationship with one. Whenever people say that's telling girls they need a man, I want to say that it didn't show me I needed a man, but it showed me that, even though I was like Mulan and clumsy, awkward, not especially feminine, and just generally not what "perfect" girls are made out to be, I could still be loved, and by a kind, noble, brave guy at that.over a year ago
I saw this photoset of Shang in Mulan II on tumblr today (link) and can I just complain again how they changed Shang so much in the sequel. It's just so unbelievable how this emotionless, sturdy man from the first film would have a very expressive, cartoony face in the sequel. Gaaah.

Disney plans to introduce a new African-American princess called Tiana in an animated film, "The Princess and the Frog," a response to demands for more diversity among princesses. Just watched Princess and the Frog for the first time in over a year... it's only the 2nd time I've watched it and it was a LOT better than I remembered. It's still nothing amazing but I enjoyed it so much more. I like Tiana more than I thought, she's not amazing (nothing in the movie is IMO) but I think she's moved slightly up on my fav list. I still love Naveen, I wouldn't like him if he was a real person, but as a character he entertains me a lot, Charlotte is great too.

~ oh and Ray and Louis are still annoying, the latter in particular ruins parts of the film for me. Dr Facilier is.. okay.. he's sort of lame but badass at the same time. I think what lets this film down quite a lot is the score, I think it's an acquired taste and definitely not my taste (but I do like 'Almost There') I just think the songs for the most part are boring and I wait for them to end. I think part of the reason I enjoyed it more this time around was because I wasn't watching it with any expectations, I watched it with an open mind- I don't think it'll move up on my fav movie list but I'm definitely more fond of it now. :)over a year ago

I watched Pochontas last night and it was alot more amazing than I remember. Now, I don't get why everyone says Poca loses her personality after meeting John. Throughout the entire movie she's energetic, she's adventurous, she's fllirtatous. She's basically a Native American version of Ariel minus the selfishness. I don't think she never lost personality, but I still think she's clueless, preachy and kinda stupid though.

I celebrated it yesterday, but today I get to open my Christmas presents and actually yesterday it didn't felt like Christmas to me, but this morning I listned to Christmas songs

Joyeux Noelle, Feliz Navidad, Merry Christmas! may you all have a wonderful day, with friends and family. Don't eat to much like I always do ( Im a social and anxious eater- sucks). OR drink wine, get buzzed then start giggling and cant stop like me. I suppose being a " Happy buzz" is better than an " Angry buzz".

Well, I'll wish a Merry Chrismtas EVE to everyone, because I know that tomorrow the wall will be filled with 10,000 Merry Christmases and I won't even want to look at it.

It was Christmas Eve Central Time where I live In North Dakota about 2hrs ago, ( yeah I know its 2 am , I have trouble sleeping) So Christmas Eve is still closer than Xmas by hrs. But Merry Christmas EVE to you too. Mine was very fun, I ate too much, I think I got buzzed on Arbor Mist wine, HA HA. oh....dear. Not sure though, I usually have the giggles really bad when I am buzzed. Have a good one.over a year ago
Tomorrow it's Christmas where I live and we're preparing for it, tomorrow we'll be cleaning the whole house and I just hate cleaning, but I'll try to keep a good attitude towards it just like Snow White and I'll sing christmas songs and some other songs perhaps while doing it. So Merry Early Christmas to all of you!

I may not be avaliable so that's why I'm hoping you'll have a Merry Christmas and also on Tuesday my cousins will come over and I'll be preparing some food so again I'll not be avaliable through out most of the dayover a year ago
Have a Merry Christmas! My girls are super excited and so am I (Santa is bringing them a Merida Doll and the triplets (they turn into bears))and they are also getting Brave and Cinderella DVDs! I can't wait to see their little faces light up with joy!over a year ago
Today was both good and sad, first lets talk about the sad part. I went to the viewing of that girl I told you guys about, though I didn't stay for the funeral, just too sad. There was a super long line and the casket was closed, I guess she looked really bad after the car accident. It really broke my heart. I told her family I went to elementary school with her and that I used to get bullied and she would sometimes stick up for me. I hope it's a long time when I see another dead person.

The good part about today is I went to Walmart and I bought myself a doll of Woody and Jessie. I would've bought Buzz if they had him but they didn't. I have so many memories from my old Woody and Jessie dolls, I can't believe I ever got rid of them. I'm now determined to find Buzz.over a year ago
basically every animated movie now is a comedy movie, it annoys me. i love comedy but the animated companies just use it as a safe option. they need to do something soon that's a bit different and just take a risk because everything is the same - something with the same sort of feel as 'Hunchback of Notre Dame' for exampleover a year ago
Agree with Mongoose09. From the concept pictures, I can imagine that Frozen is a comedy movie. Somehow, I miss a serious, animated movie...over a year ago
too many touchy parents now days. They would have a cow. Everything has to involve butt or fart jokes. I mean not all. But as Lightning Red said, would it kill them to do a serious fantasy.? Princess and the Frog had some serious parts, Frankenweenie had some serious parts ( not a fairytale-but animated), and they both were modest successes. Everything has to be stupid and simple to be a hit I guess.over a year ago
I think you guys talked me into seeing " Wreck it Ralph". It does look like fun, I looked at some books about the movie at the bookstore. My cousins are coming for xmas, they like video game stuff, and I want to see that "Candy- land" like part with that cute little Vanilloppe? That makes me hungry looking at her game. HA HA

LOL. you guys are funny. I cant go RIGHT NOW, but I will ask them. Hopefully they havent seen it, they usually dont care seeing something again anyway. LOL CrystalRing, - you know me, you didnt have to tell me its better than Brave. I cant watch that. Merida rubs me the wrong way. I like that little Vanilloppe girl and her Candyland game thing. Shes cute.over a year ago
Princess Anna's (Frozen 2013) spot has been finally made by me!Would anyone would like to join it? link
I can't just wait for the release of the film(as I have heard it's completely different from the Snow Queen) and for the coronation of Princess Anna(Not sure about it,but have found some sites telling so) to become an official DP!

^^^ No actually they are still separate studios and lineups. Disney just OWNS them. Like they do Marvel and Star Wars. If Merida can join why can Princess Leia then ? or why didnt Kida, or Elonwy, or Gieselle, or -you get the picture.over a year ago
If Merida can join as a Princess, can Thor King of Asgard (from Marvel film by the same name) join as a prince/king? No, because he's not Disney-Disney just Disney Marvel.over a year ago
The past two days I saw the first two LOTR, I had never watched them before, and honestly they're some of the best movies i've seen in my entire lifeover a year ago
@princesslullaby: I agree with you (though I saw them for the first time a couple of months ago), I expected to be bored by them but they're so amazing... you should really watch the third one as soon as possible, it's the best one IMO. And I REALLY want to see The Hobbit, was planning to see it on opening weekend but I've been so ill. :(over a year ago
Sorry i wasn't on yesterday. I had to help my mom with the holiday baking and my aunt is back in town for Christmas. She got in yesterday as well. I'm also alittle busy today, but at some points of the day i'll try to get on.

On Tuesday this girl I use to go to elementary school with and is in my pop culture class got into a car accident. Everyone at school was sad and concerned about it, my Spanish teacher even cried about it. Today she died. I was so hopeful that she would be alright. I can't believe she's gone, we use to be in each others classes in pretty much every year of elementary school. We're not exactly friends but we're on a friendly level. I can't believe she's gone, but God knows best.

Where I'm from there's still an hour left until the 22nd. I knew this wasn't going to be the end of the world, but for some reason today I was a little paranoid, oh well. Now finally people at my school will shut up about it.over a year ago
I just see that on every site people are really sick about famous "Tiana dreamed of being a princess - and then became one!" from book. I was really sick about this too, but now... Isn't Tiana dreamed abou being a princess? In childhood? Then she grew up and dreamed about restaurant, but as a child...
Posted over a year ago
Well, I don't know, I never watch Princess and the Frog in my language, but I think that at the beginning she would like (as child!) be a princess to, just not after frog kiss... I must watch it again and see it again ^^.over a year ago
huh? cooking with her late dad was her passion. Her goofy southern Belle friend Charlotte " Lottie" ( she sounds like Blanche Deveraux from the Golden Girls) is the one that had all pink ( i wanted her room and wardrobe LOL) and wanted to be a princess.over a year ago
As a child i always wanna by a princess and definitely I never wanted pink dress in wardrobe xd I never wanted any dress xd. And I really have more than one passion. Tiana like stories about princesses and maybe she would like to be one of them - just without prince/frog ;]. I think this is something only for own taste.over a year ago
^ didnt you say, that you never watched patf in your own language? so how can you be so sure about that? XD just because you wanted to be one, doesnt mean she wanted it, too XDover a year ago
is there a fanpop FROZEN spot yet? just curious. And am I the only one that thinks " Tangled" and " Frozen" are pretty stupid titles for these beloved fairytales. ?
Posted over a year ago
Oh....well, they keep saying its based on H.C. Andersens Snow Queen?? and its going to mostly like it, except for they are turning more parts into comedy I didnt like that. WHO KNOWS with these knew heads of animation. They piss me off.over a year ago
K. And I was paraphrasing, thos were their words not mine. I know some people have complained around the internet already cause they dont like how it " LOOKS" cause Disney aniamtion dept. has been promoting it as the Snow Queen based fairytale. And its their fav, these people say it doesnt resemble it in the least.over a year ago
I found out there's going to be a Toy Story 4 but that it's going to be about different toys. Why would they do this? Why make a movie with the words "Toy Story" in it and not have the classic characters like Woody, Buzz, and Jessie that we grew up with? This is going to be even worse than I thought it would be. What do you guys think?

omg. I had an ADD moment in my previous comment. Sorry. its something I have, I just lose my train of thought and just randomly talk about stuff. Or change subject.over a year ago
You found out about it NOW? One year ago. ONE YEAR AGO, is when the rumors started. And do you know that the fans thought the SHORT as Toy story 4? Yeah, you're welcome. Toy Story 4, which was actually released is the hawaii short. And the new short coming in 2013 is the Halloween one. Forgot the names, and I admit, i'm too lazy to search it up, but for everyone who can't find it, i'll be a savior and send you the links.over a year ago
Does anyone else always get compared to their least favourite princess? I'm always getting compared to Belle, and I just have to stop and look at them like, "Ru sirius. Nuh. Just nuh."
Posted over a year ago
LOL. I agree MalloMar. I look like Belle the most, I have brown hair and brown eyes. Her complexion is lighter than mine, but I we do look pretty similar. My least favorite would be Snow White or Rapunzel, I like them both just not as much as the others. I do not have blonde or black hair, so I guess no, I dont get compared to them.over a year ago
As I watched the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs original trailer, I started tearing up. Maybe I'm over-emotional, but Walt Disney has changed my world. He probably had no idea how much others would appreciate him in the years to come. It makes me wish I was alive when Mr. Disney was.
Posted over a year ago
I do too. I wish he were still in charge of the company he created. I dont feel the magic I felt when I was growing up watching the movies of the Disney Renaissance era. Or Walts era on VHS. A part of that came back with " The Princess and the Frog", and with Tangled. But not much. I cry watching " The Little Mermaid" and " Beauty and the Beast". Its emotions mixed with nostalgia.over a year ago
Yeah...I did know that. I am one of the biggest Disney freaks you could meet. He died in 1966 at the age of 65 from lung cancer, the last movies he over saw were " Mary Poppins" and parts of " The Jungle Book". " The Little Mermaid" in 89 was the start of the Disney Renaissance Era. From 37-67 Snow White to Jungle Book is known as Walt Era. 70-88 is the " Dark Ages" kind of harsh name, they were good movies, just not as big of hits as when he was Alive. Mermaid jumpstarted Disney Animation again. 89-2000 is Renaissance. Then there was another lull, until " Princess and the Frog" and Tangled. Frog didnt do as well as the 90's but it was still a modest success for being the first 2D in a while.over a year ago
wow. I wonder how many times in my life I have watched " The Little Mermaid" and " Beauty and the Beast" . Ariel came out the year I was born ( 1989) and Belle the year I was two ( 1991). And I watched both all the time. So It probably would be more than anyone could count. HA HA. My parents actually took TLM movie away, cause I watched it too much. I cried.over a year ago
When I was little I watched TLM every day and was threatened that it will be taken away from me if I don't stop watching it do frequently. As for Tangled, I think my love for this movie increases with every new rewatch - and trust me, I've seen it more times than I can count.over a year ago
