IU's co-MC has been confirmed for the upcoming SBS's 'Gayo Daejun,' set to air on December 27. It's none other than comedian Shin Dong Yup!

The two should make an interesting MC duo, what with Shin Dong Yup's humorous wit and IU's sweet, lovable demeanor. The two had previously paired up to host a KBS Chuseok special in 2014. This combo will make for a more entertaining show when the big event airs.

Reps from SBS relayed, "From collaborative performances from the hottest idols that will shock you and a stage that will be reminiscent of the 90's, a diverse array of special stages were prepared for this one and only day."

The 2015 SBS 'Gayo Daejun' will air December 27 at 9:40pm (KST), so be sure to catch your favorite idols perform!

The December 16 airing of SBS' 'One Night of TV Entertainment' was definitely entertaining, but also quite controversial. Netizens are furious over a specific segment that the show aired.

The segment in question is 'One Night's Strange Stories' which featured photos of female celebrities, mostly idols, where their bodies were shown to be strangely proportioned.

The first few photos look to be edited photos. These include Wonder Girls' Sohee's legs being separate from the rest of her body, actress Han Ga In with three arms, and Girls' Generation's Hyoyeon with an extremely long arm.

But what netizens are angry about are how Girls' Generation's YoonA and IU were portrayed. The two were shown in photos where their bodies seemed strangely positioned.

YoonA's magazine cover page showed her with her neck turned to the side, and IU's photo showed her leaning forward with her arms on her waist. The reporter stated that both girls looked like their necks were twisted.

Besides its survey of determining the best K-Pop rookie groups of 2015, Star News conducted yet another survey to select '2015's Hottest Issue In Music.' The survey was based on the opinions of the same 28 experts of who had selected the best rookie groups.

There were innumerable controversies and issues which had bubbled in K-Pop this year, but many experts agreed that the most hotly debated issue was IU's 'Zeze' controversy, which had earned a total of ten votes.

The experts said, "IU's 'Zeze' didn't only became an issue in music but also in the pop culture sphere overall, creating a societal impact; it proved that as a young producer making music, you are weighed down with heavier responsibilities. The controversy grew even bigger as IU shedding her past image became linked with the societal issues. It was a controversy that made us question how far once can push the boundaries of artistic freedom. On the other hand, it was a controversy which made us realize how much of an influence IU has on the public."

Raina appeared on SBS powerFM's 'Kim Chang Ryul's Old School' on December 15, where she talked about who she resembled and which star she wanted to meet.

When asked if she often heard she looked like somebody, she replied, "Because I'm round-faced, in early debut days, [I was told I looked liked] Shinji. When I take pictures, I hear once in a while that I look like IU. More than anything, I hear I look like a raccoon," making everyone laugh.

When asked which star she wanted to meet at least once, she replied, "Everybody's boyfriend, Kang Dong Won. I just want to see him once. I'm curious about how he looks in real life. I watched 'The Priests' recently and his visuals were so amazing that just looking at him caused the two hours to slip by."

Ever since IU came back with 'Chat-Shire,' it seems like nothing but controversy after controversy has surrounded the new release.

Recently, another issue has come to light, this time involving the inspiration behind 'Chat-Shire's album cover.

An artist by the name of Jessica HJ Lee uploaded a blog post titled 'link,' claiming that the artwork for 'Chat-Shire' was just too similar to her original art to be overlooked as mere inspirations but rather, a direct, intentional copy of her work.

Lee even showed a side-by-side comparison of certain parts of her art to parts of the album artwork for 'Chat-Shire,' pointing out the similar color schemes, artistic style and direction, and medium. Lee explained that she contacted the illustrator behind the artwork for 'Chat-Shire,' and the illustrator had admitted that she drew inspiration from the "overall tone and manner" of her work; however, Lee doesn't think that the "tone and manner" of her art is...

American artist, Jessica H. Lee recently penned a blog post online in which she claims that her artwork was used without her permission for the cover of link‘s latest album “Chatshire.”

In her blog post, the artist highlights the similarities between her own artwork and the illustrations on IU’s cover. Although the sketches aren’t exactly the same, the artist notes that the drawing style and coloring are extremely similar. She also writes that after doing additional research, she found that the artist connected to IU’s album cover art had previously contacted her on a different project in the past.

After reaching out to IU’s illustrator, the illustrator admitted to Lee that she had used Lee’s art as inspiration for her own work. However, after consulting with colleagues who expressed doubts, Lee argues that the artwork goes beyond simple inspiration due to the similarities between the two.

With the controversy over IU‘s lyrics of her track “Zezé” and her supposed interpretation over the character, YouTuber Heechulism underwent a reaction video project, showing her live performance to Americans.

Published on November 28th, he begins the video by explaining, “In Korea, the song ‘Zezé’ has been controversial and brings about the issue of an artist’s ‘Freedom of Expression.’ I showed some Americans this music video.”

Their first reaction was that the video (a special live clip released by 1theK and includes English captions) was very “colorful.”

While one comments that everything was normal thus far as IU sang and approached the chorus, the lyrics that read “stroking sounds with those little fingers” began to emit some reaction. During the chorus, one woman comments, “It’s trying to be innocent but seductive at the same time,” while the man agrees saying, “It sounds awfully sexual.”

Continuing, the lyrics “climb up me” the viewers react as they laugh nervously with one saying, “I’m not exactly sure what ‘climb up me’ is supposed to mean.”

Netizens have therefore taken the liberty to rank, on the online forum Instiz, various celebrities whose image took quite the hit in 2015.

The two were caught in a verbal brawl in which it seemed as though Lee Tae Im cursed violently at Yewon after the latter was accused of speaking in an informal manner. While the respective agencies responded, as did both artists to each other, netizens felt the situation was rather messy and caused substantial harm to the popularity of both parties. This can be seen in calls for Yewon to leave We Got Married following the incident.

A clip of IU from her recent Shanghai concert has gone viral online after the artist was hit in the face by a water bottle thrown by a fan.

The incident occurred on November 8th while in Shanghai where IU was performing a concert.

During one of the breaks, IU began speaking to her audience and asked her fans if they could hand her a water bottle. In one video, one fan from her right attempted to throw IU a water bottle but came up short on the throw which prompted the singer to ask a fan near the front if they could reach it and hand it to her. But just seconds after, another water bottle is seen hitting IU in the face, thrown from her left.

IU, though surprised, simply laughs it off while slightly nursing her cheek, commenting that it was the first time she has ever gotten hit in the face by a bottle.
On November 27th, a netizen on online community board Pann uploaded a .gif version of the incident, which has received many dislikes for the obvious trolling by the original poster.
