According to Jonathan .M. Shiff ,The second season will be filmed on the gold coast of Australia, and will be shot from February 3rd to July 18th. And will be released late 2014. and the new mermaids name will be Mimi.

Lyla and Nixie won't be in the series (no clue how they will explain their absents). Three new mer-people will be introduced: Mimi, Ondina, and Erik.
