Ktchenor Question

The holidays are coming soon! And I want to know what's the best and worse present(s) you ever received?

Best present(s) I ever got was a talking Barbie doll (it was one of the first) It didn't say much but it was the coolest thing ever to me. I also remember getting a Muppet drum kit that I adored! Couldn't play it very well but I loved it!

Worse present(s) I ever got was Dress n' Dazzle. It was a dress up thing for girls. It had gloves, sash and sometimes a hat. And I was and still am not a girly girl and unfortunately, there was a miscommunication between me an my parents and I ended up with this thing *lol*
But hey, it was purple and I will always appreciate the thought. They tried! *lol* 😂💖💖

Aww I was always a girly girl and would have loved that Kirsten.Great question 💛

Yes! Toy musical instruments are like heaven for each young kid, they can keep one busy for hours XD (and make parent's eardrums and nerve cells collapse as well) XD

The best gift I ever got was a German Shepherd plush I named Bruno. I slept with him every night until he fell apart. By then, I was turning twelve, so I didn't feel the need for him anyway.

The worst gift I ever got was a treat kit for my dogs. I made the treats, and my dogs hated them. I later gave them to a neighbor's dog, and he liked them.

Ah, I still have all my childhood stuffed animals! That must've been a disappointment, finding the dog treat kit didn't even make anything your dogs would like.

It was disappointing, but at least the neighbor's dog liked it.

I presume we mean any kind of gift, since I'm Jewish and I don't get Christmas gifts? (Not that I'd object if anyone were to send me one!) The best presents I ever got were my first guitar, for my fifteenth birthday, and the Funko Pop! Aladdin A Whole New World Movie Moment I got for my twenty-second birthday (it's my favourite scene in the movie.)
The worst present I ever got was probably the insect jigsaw puzzle (my grandmother meant well, I know, but I guess she didn't realize I hate insects!) Also anytime I got clothes under the age of thirteen. Presents should be FUN things, and how are clothes a fun thing for anyone younger than a preteen?! I think clothes for children are more of a present for the parents, anyway, which is another reason they make terrible gifts....

^^@Rubyrings: Totally meant any gift! No matter what you celebrate it's still a holiday! :) Totally, agree about the clothes. That never ends well! XD

True, I hated clothes as gifts growing up, like why would you be happy about something that's boring and you'll grow out of it in a month? Guitar? That's amazing! <3 <3

I'll talk about my childhood gift experiences.
Best gift: Back when I spent whole year, whining about how much I want a doll that looks like a baby, my mum and grandma both ended up giving me such dolls, apparently none of them knew what the other is going to give, so I ended up with two baby dolls, but they weren't identical at least, and I loved them both so much! They were my two twins babies, one looked more like a boy, other like a girl, and one had a little bathtub with it so I could wash it and change it's diapers and the other had different doctor tools with it mostly and whenever you touched it with a certain tool it made sounds. Played with them both a lot through my whole childhood <3
Worst gift: When our relatives came to visit us for the other end of the country, they gifted a 6 year old me a book "Learn how to read" it had words divided by letters one by one, and big letters on pages so the kid would learn reading simple words an short sentences, and get to know the letters. It wouldn't be a bad gift, but the thing is, at the age of 6 I already knew how to read AND WRITE so it was far behind my development XD

guess they thought you were smaller. Once I got a barbie doll when some relatives came for Xmas. The thing is I was 16 years old!

That's what I call a happy mistake, your ending up with two baby dolls! Maybe your relatives assumed a six-year-old wouldn't be able to read very well yet - I know my reading level was also way too high for a book like that when I was six!

My late grandmother gave me baby dolls even when I turned twelve. But it was better than the jumpers she made me (luv you grandma! ❤)
