Blood and Chocolate is not a vampire book, it is about werewolves. And Vampire Kisses is in no way better than Anne Rice or Stephenie Meyer. I'm a little unsettled by this list.
Twilight is TERRIBLE and shouldn't be on the list. But I agree that Vampire Kisses is not better than Anne Rice. There are a lot of really good vampire books missing anyway.
Yo... this is the WORST list ever. i havent heard of about all but like 2 series!!! Where's the blue bloods novel books eh? those are REALYL good. the blue moon one is pretty good also and TWILIGHT????? what about that???everyone loves twilight! UGH
My fave vamp book ever is Lost Souls so glad it made it so far up this person's list but I totally agree... LOADS (emphasis, not shouting)of great stuff left out to list almost all the books in certain series. Perhaps they haven't gotten round to reading em yet LOL x
WHERE IS TWILIGHT!!!!!!! and also.... books u all need to read....if u hav even heard of them..."Boys that Bite" "Stake That" and last but not least..."Jessicas Guide to Dating on the Darkside" all of u, find em. read em. love em.

Well, I have to say that this list is perfectly fine with me. It has listed some classic vampire novels/series. Why isn't Twilight on there? Don't even get me started. Maybe my favorite vampire books aren't on there, but there is nothing wrong with the classics!
1.house of night
2.vampire academy
3.vampire diaries
4.night world
5.dracula
6.cirque du freak
7.true blood
8.the vampire chronicals
9.vampire kisses
10.twilight
but i still got to read alot more. i only starting reading 2 years ago befor then i never touched a book
Dracula - the original and the best. A stunning book that is curiously underrated and often dismissed as trash, presumably by people who haven't actually read it.
My list:
Fiction: Clarimonde by Theophile Gautier, sumptuously purple prose. Le vampire by Alexandre Dumas (OK, it´s play, but I read it in book form) has delicious old dialogue and atmospheric Gothic settings. , Carmilla and various versions of Dracula.
Non-fiction: Romancing the vampire by David J Skal, Dracula by Elizabeth Miller, Dracula: Connoisseur´s guide by Leonard Wolf.
Delicious!
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh NO VAPIRE NIGHT ORTWILIGHT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH THIS THING IT NEEDS A UPGREDE LIKE RIGHT NOW!
and yeah i pondered that too nika
though i love all the ones on the list too!
*squee*
Twilight isn't on it!
it should be burnt to the core just like edward and his pathetic excuse of a wife
oh, well

Twilight: the internet's laughing stock. Seriously, it's light fluff reading at best, nothing revolutionary.
Vampire Academy: see Twilight. Admittedly better, but still fluff. I coudn't finish the first book because it was just blah for me.
House of Night: more fluff with a Mary Sue tossed in.
Vampire Knight: learn the difference between a book and a manga.
In conclusion: cheesy romance does not a good vampire novel make.

- Twilight( of course)
- Ever more
- Dracula
- Vampire clan( it's really fantastic)
Maybe that's all! :D
