Kayla’s POV

“What’s the sex?” Alice squealed as Carlisle moved the probe over my belly. She was gazing adoringly at the image of my baby on the screen. Knowing we were looking, the baby gave a little nudge. It was harder than I was used to but not painful.
“Did you see the baby kick?” Alice asked me, her eyes not leaving the screen.
“I felt it, Alice,” I said, smiling at her.
Edward’s eyes were flitting between me and the screen. He had been watching me carefully the past few days and it had been quite annoying. I made sure he heard that in my thoughts.
“I will only say if Kayla and Edward would like to know,” Carlisle said, still moving the probe over my stomach.
I saw the corners of Edward’s mouth twitch up and guessed he’d just heard Carlisle’s thoughts and knew the sex.
“Well, Edward already knows now,” I said, rolling my eyes. “I might as well find out.”
Alice dragged her eyes off the screen and glared at Edward.
“That’s not fair,” she said, pouting. “I’ve been nice and not tried to see the sex of the baby in a vision.”
“I can’t control my ability like you two can,” Edward said in his defence.
“You should at least have tried for today.” Alice folded her arms across her chest.
“Shut up,” I said to Edward before he could retaliate. “I want to know what I’m having.”
Carlisle looked at me and grinned.
“It’s a girl.”
Alice squealed and hugged me tight.
“A niece!” she jumped up and down. “Yes!”
I looked at the screen, at my little girl, feeling a tear slide down cheek.
“My two girls,” Edward whispered, kissing my forehead.
“How far am I now?” I asked Carlisle.
He turned back to the screen.
“Judging by the length of the baby, which I think is about 10 to 11 inches, you are 21 to 23 weeks pregnant.”
“Is that the second trimester?” I asked, beginning to worry. It was all too fast. Way too fast.
Edward began to rub soothing circles with his thumb on the back of my hand.
“Yes,” Carlisle said. “From now on, we must watch you. You could be in the third trimester by next week. Usually, the third trimester is when women gain the most weight as their babies are getting a lot bigger. We need to be careful, Kayla. As I told you before, you may not be able to carry to full term. You will not be able to grow as fast as your baby.”
“I understand,” I said, my voice coming out steadier than I felt. Edward squeezed my hand.
“I’m here,” Alice said, her enthusiasm replaced by seriousness. “I’ll keep watch.”
Carlisle nodded and turned back to the screen, pressing a few buttons to print us a picture.
It’s going to be okay, Edward thought to me. We’re all here. Nothing bad will happen.
I nodded, watching Alice gaze at the scan photo. She would look out for my daughter. She wouldn’t let anything bad happen. I had nothing to worry about.

I was lost, helpless, I couldn’t control the beast, the monster inside of me. The monster that wanted blood, that wanted to kill, that gloried in the death of humans. I was gone. Now, someone else full of bloodlust was here. Another part of me, that hadn’t been out in months.
Before I knew it I was following the scent, a familiar scent. I didn’t care if I knew the victim, didn’t care if it would hurt her if I was responsible for another death.
I could only run so far. I would have to stop and hide for if my victim saw me, he would run and I would have to chase him. I chose a tree to hide behind that was not ten feet from my victim. I could see him clearly even though there was no light. He was standing and looking around. He even turned in a circle on the spot. It was evident he was lost. A perfect excuse. When people go missing in the forest they rarely turn up alive. I stepped out from behind the tree, standing directly behind him. I watched him carefully, and for a second I willed him to continue walking. For a second, I knew that if he walked away from me, I wouldn’t kill him. But he didn’t continue walking. Sensing my presence he turned and saw me. His chocolate brown eyes, so like hers, lit up when he recognised me. Her face flitted through my mind and I almost turned and ran but I couldn’t. I could hear the pulse of his veins, smell his blood, hear it sloshing around his body. I wanted it.
“I’m so glad you’re here,” he said, sighing in relief. “I’m totally lost, can you believe that? I don’t know where I am. Do you remember how you got here? We can go back the way you came. I’m so silly me.”
I tilted my head to the side, scrutinising him. Old instinct took over, assessing everything about him. What would be the best way to kill him without making a noise? I didn’t want to have to eat and run.
His eyes showed fear first. He didn’t understand. Why wasn’t I answering him? Going over to him and telling him how stupid he was for getting lost? Leading him back out of the forest to the safety of home?
Again, I wanted to turn and run but I was so close to tasting it. To feeling it. Human blood. The experience of it was unlike anything I’ve ever tasted. Nothing compared to it.
I didn’t move. I continued to stare at him and he got frightened.
He realised the change in me too late. He tried to run but I was too fast for him. My teeth sunk into his neck and warm blood flowed into my waiting mouth. He collapsed to the ground, crying out, as his blood poured profusely from his neck and soothed my burning thirst. His blood was too fast for me. Most of it I could drink but some of it overflowed and spilled down my chin. He was silent now. Not a sound escaped from him. That was good; I preferred to eat in silence.

“Try to go back to sleep,” Edward whispered softly in my ear. I felt his hands begin to caress my hair but I couldn’t go back to sleep.
I awkwardly rolled over onto my other side so I faced Edward. He quickly tried to mask the worry in his eyes but I saw it.
“I can’t,” I whispered back. “This is getting too frustrating. Who the hell is this vampire?”
I watched as Edward searched his mind, for what seemed the thousandth time, for the answer to my question. The problem was, none of us knew of any vampire who would want to hurt Charlie.
“You don’t think it could be Tess,” Edward said, averting his eyes for fear I might hurt him for suggesting it.
“Tess?” I repeated.
I considered this. Could Tess hurt Charlie? No. She loved Charlie. You could see it in the way she looked at him, the way she would just randomly touch his hand or face as if to reassure herself he was still okay. I just couldn’t imagine her hurting him. She loved him, she wouldn’t kill him.
Right?
“Maybe I’m just being stupid,” Edward quickly said. “Maybe Tess isn’t who you’re seeing in your vision. If only you knew who you were when you have these visions.”
“But life isn’t that easy.”
Edward sighed. I tried to snuggle up to him but my protruding bump stopped me from getting as close to Edward as I wanted to. Edward smiled and moved behind me so he could wrap his arms around me from behind.
“Not long now,” he whispered in my ear. Distraction. His hand caressed my bump.
“Yeah,” I said, feeling nervous. “Not long.”
“Don’t worry, Kayla,” he tried to assure me. “Everything will be fine.”
“You’re not the one carrying the half vampire child,” I muttered, my imagination producing images of a baby Nosferatu ripping it’s way out of my body. Would it be like that? Would my baby girl need to tear her way out or could I give birth to her naturally?
“Do you regret keeping the baby?” Edward asked quietly.
“Regret keeping our baby?” I repeated.
“Yes,” he replied. “The way you are thinking. You’ve had constant doubts during your pregnancy. I’m wondering if I should have been more forceful when I tried to get you to abort the baby.”
“Edward, I do not want this baby to be aborted.” I touched his hand that was on my bump. “Of course I’m having doubts, I’m eighteen and married to a vampire, living with said vampire’s vampire family and having his half-vampire baby. It isn’t normal.”
“You are not normal,” he said, nuzzling my neck. “And I wouldn’t want you any other way.”
I smiled and my baby girl gave a little kick. She was well past nudging now. She was getting bigger and stronger. I was overjoyed that she was growing healthily but I didn’t know if I would be able to handle her strength.

Warning: This is just coming from me, and was done out of boredom and maybe some motivation. Its just a fiction, so nothing is real. So dont be upset if you wont find Bella in that story, it wouldnt make sense otherwise. Enjoy.

SideNote: I know that Edward isnt as straight forward in the books, and in the next chapter he will change. I just wanted Ashley to fall in love with him for the right reasons, instead of being obsessed.

Waking up didnt feel right, being here was somehow strange. I sat up in my bed, stretching and tried to remember what had happened last night. Letting out some low sigh,...

As I was going home I suddenly was hit by the reality that I really was going to be a mother... a mom at last.
A mother wow... I thought to myself. I'm going to be responsible for someone. I shook that thought out of my head quickly, since I had always been a clutz like my mom. I mean what if I accidently hurt my unborn baby, I thought to myself before quickly shaking that thought off too.
It was 6 a.m. and I had just awoken to discover Jacob sitting at the foot of my bed. Jacob... I began- I need to tell you something I'm...I'm... Pregnant. "Thats great", he replied to me reaching up to stroke my growing stomach. "How far along are you?", he asks me. "I'm 3 months now Jake but... the baby's not yours.", I tell him... he slaps me and gathers all his things and bolts out the door leaving me to face reality i]alone.[/i]

I am horribly addicted to writing this, it's so much fun and interesting to write. I hope you guys enjoy this chapter:

Quick refresher:

I need to go now, the lights are coming back on. I will try hiding my book better this time so that no one will find it and take it away. I need this, this is my only lifeline right now."

The last paragraph was slightly smudged, I ran my finger over the spot when I realized what would have made the ink run. I sat there staring at the tear marks realizing that my heart was breaking twice. Once when I wrote it,...

I stared at my tiny room’s ceiling. The paint is starting to peel off and Dad’s been bugging me to work on it. I don’t want to. I just wanted to lie in bed and do nothing. Do nothing but think of her, dream of her.

Once again, her beautiful face flashed before my eyes…

“D-do you want me to l-leave? So you could be free?” She asked brokenly.

I winced at the memory of her lovely face torn with pain. That look on her face haunted me for months now.

“Do you want me to haul your stupid butt out of this room, Jacob Black?” Leah growled from the doorway.

I glared at her.

“Get lost, Leah.”...

“Vincent Salvatori asked about you.” Jenny said as I joined her for lunch today.

“Who?”

“The recluse. He introduced himself to me during class.” I decided to ditch class this morning. I don’t want to spend an hour and a half beside arrogant Vincent Salvatori.

“I told him you overslept.” Her eyes narrowed as she took in my bloodshot puffy eyes. “Care to explain to me what last night’s sobbing was about.”

“Some other time, Jen. Don’t want to talk about it.” I murmured then picked up my cup of coffee and took a sip.

“Okay….Listen, do you want to go to Jessie’s for...

“Don’t you really want to go?” Jenny asked. All freshmen were invited to attend an acquaintance party that will be held in the gym.

“I don’t feel like partying, Jen.”

“Come on, Nessie. It would be fun. Don’t tell me you’re still mad at me?”

I sighed. I am not mad, just annoyed out of my wits. I still can’t believe Jenny had pulled that cheap stunt in the cafeteria during lunch.

We were looking for a table, carrying our tray when she started babbling about her misery about her boyfriend Paul. He still hadn’t called her. I was thinking of something to say to soothe her...

His penetrating gaze made me shiver, a mixture of fear and anticipation. Anticipation for what would happen next, now that he’s finally shown himself. Shown me that he is real - TOO REAL.

My nightmares didn’t give his ethereal face justice. His light hair shone like spun gold, his brows were arched aristocratically, his nose perfectly sculpted, his full lips almost femininely enticing. I saved the best for Last – his eyes. They were like blue fire.

Never have I seen such an enigmatic beautiful face. There is an air of arrogance around him. Yet somehow, he seemed melancholic, quiet, and...

The next day Jacob and I went to the store and bought everything that was junk food. Then we went to a movie store and got The Covenant, Sweeny Todd, and The Messenger. “Hey Jake what about Van Helsing?” I said trying to lighten up the mood. I looked over at him and he just stared blankly. “Chill, I was kidding.” He had gotten so serious and worried about me, I just missed seeing his big smile that showed all his snowy white teeth. We got home and dumped every thing on the living room table and slipped in The Covenant. We wat ched every one of them. Suddenly I stood up forceful and...

Grandpa Carlilse came over to the house with all his equipment, then my Uncles and Aunts came. " Honey are you ok?" Aunt Rosalie asked and she started to touch my face.
I didn't say anything i was cradled like a baby in my father's arms. I couldn't speak i only coughed and sneezed a few times. " She is just stunned. Remember her old friend on the island well she had a dream that he bit here and killed Jacob." Dad said swiftly. Tears started to trickle down my face and when he said Jacob it rang a bell in my head. " Dad i need to see Jacob. Please let me go i need to see if he's ok!" I struggled...

I fell asleep on my dad's lap and i had the most horrible dream. I was in the meadow where my family plays baseball and there was a boy about 15 sitting by a tree with silver apples on it. But in the real meadow there wasn't any trees with apples. If that wasn't enough roses were growing from the ground.
I walked towards the boy and he smiled at me and i felt like i knew him when i was younger. Wait i did know him it was Trenton! My childhood friend when i went to live at the island my parents had there honeymoon!
I took another step forward. "RENESMEE!" Jacob shouted, "Don't come any closer...

Demetri left us in the reception area with Gianna, who was sitting behind her highly polished desk. She really was very good at her job. She still retained her detached look even with her curiosity as strong as it was.
Demetri was anxious to get back to the feast. “Do not leave until dark.”
I nodded, and Demetri quickly hurried away.

Guys, I'm really sorry this chapter took so long to be posted but my internet decided to take a holiday last wednesday and came back today. So for that I'm posting two chapters on.
Enjoy.

I woke in the morning alone. I wasn’t surprised. Edward wouldn’t have come back in case Charlie decided to pop his head around the door. I wondered if Charlie hadn’t come to my room, how far would Edward have gone. I was pondering this while I looked for some breakfast. Charlie had gone to work early. Someone needed to speak to him at the station. He was running around in a rush and looked kind of panicked....

Edward's POV

*30 minutes later*
“So what does this mean, Alice?” I asked.
“I don’t know. Let’s just go back downstairs and see if the wolves are here. Maybe that’s why I can’t see the party. If anything new happens, then I’ll let you know. I promise,” she said heading out the door.
The whole family was gathered in Carlisle’s study, talking about the sudden disappearance of the party.
“Okay,” I said. I headed down the stairs. The first thing I did was look for Bella. I got down to where I left her. She wasn’t there. I walked to the kitchen to see...

Chapter Three: Conversations With Dead People...
I opened my eyes and found myself back in the white bed and no one was around to talk to, or to jump into there arms, or to just argue with. No doctors, no footsteps, and most of all, and the saddest part, no Mile. Even though he didnt really run with me in his arms through the maze of The Fear, he never held me close to him in his arms. Or smile at me, or look at me, or even see me. I couldn't take it, it hurt a little to not even see him around my bed or in my room some where like he promised. I just stared at...

“I am gratified by his success.” Aro mused. “Your memories of him are quite a gift for me, though they astonish me exceedingly. I am surprised by how it...pleases me, his success in this unorthodox path he’s chosen. I expected that he would waste, weaken with time. I’d scoffed at his plan to find others who would share his peculiar vision. Yet, somehow, I’m happy to be wrong.”

OK, quick recap:

"Benjamin, would you and Emmett please gather the remains of the sheep and put them in the small barn until after lunch?" He said as he lead the way into the house.

We made our way to the first animal that the children had found. I picked the poor beast up in my arms, attempting to keep the blood from getting on my clothing. I made my way over to the smaller of the barns as Ben turned to go to the field in search of other casualties.

We managed to collected all 3 sheep, and made our way back to the house without ruining our clothing, and hopefully before all the lunch was gone....
