Chapter Four
WHEN I NEED YOU WILL BE THE SAME DAY I DIE. -Erica
For the last two days, Sophie hasn't said one word to me. She was either locked up in her room or going to the mall with her new friend, Madison. It seemed like she was never home and when she was home, she would never come out or her room. I have literally heard her whispering and if I stood there too long, everything would get eerily silent. It was bizarre. Dad would probably notice if he wasn't too busy sucking face with Carrie.
I had spent most of my time in the library looking up more information on ghost and twin powers. I wanted to fully understand everything. This wouldn't just be fore me. It would be for Sophie, Emma, and Erica.
It was late at night when Sophie came from her room and into mine. Her usually soft brown eyes were now harsh, cold brown eyes. She didn't show it in her tone. "Hey sis, I realized that we shouldn't be fighting. I love you too much." She smiled warmly at me as she sat on my bed. "Besides I rather let you know the truth then for you to have to find it out by snooping. But from now on ease stay out of. My personal life." And with that, she left the room leaving behind cool draft.
I headed downstairs to do more research on ghost when unfortunately I bumped into Carrie. "We have a guy that mows our lawns and he seems pretty thirsty do you mind giving him some lemonade?"
"Why can't you do it?" I asked stubbornly.
"Because I need to help your father remodel our bedroom. I already Made the lemonade just give it to him." She smiled like she was holding a dirty secret. I shrugged it off. I was obviously being paranoid.
Reluctantly I agreed. I fixed the lemonade and took it to the guy outside. He was in fact mowing our lawns but what Carrie left out was that he was mowing without a shirt on and he looked much older then 13. This only made me more uncomfortable. I was so not use to hot guys, "Uh here you go," I said as I reached out to hand him his drink.
"Thanks," he said while facing me and giving me a dazzling smile that made everything brighter. After he finished drinking, he faced me again. "Shane Gold." He greeted as he reached out to shake my hand.
I shook his hand gently. "Zoe Mallory."
"You have pretty eyes," he commented. He immediately got back to work and I took it upon myself to leave. From the corner or my eye, I saw Sophie glaring down at us. She must have been up in the basement which meant she was up to know good.
I stormed up the the stairs that led to the basement. All I found was my painting ripped and the couch ripped to shreds. There was also a cool draft like there was in my room. It was summer how could it be this cold?
The following day, I slept till noon and didn't leave my room until 3pm. The only reason why I didn't leave my room was because there was no one waiting for me. No one for me to talk to. Carrie and dad were happy together, they had just left for a salsa class while Sophie went over to Madison's house. I was the only one left. I padded down the stairs in my bunny slippers, white tank top, and flannel pants. I went all the way to the kitchen. When I went though the door, I let out a small scream when I saw Shane rummaging through our fridge, "Oh sorry, I thought everyone left." He said as he quickly closed the fridge door.
"It's okay, you just scared me. I didn't expect anyone to be here," o replied. I fixed myself some bacon.
"I should probably go home now," he said quickly and left through the door leaving me to an empty home and even emptier heart.

I will not be under your tyranny
Your cruel and oppressive force
Yes, maybe you should be my leader
But that doesn't mean I should follow you all the time
Do you know he's got you bound
Under ropes and chains of cruelty
Well, I don't wanna be a follower
If it means I have to be a killer
No, I'm not exactly kind-hearted
But that doesn't mean I have to kill, kill, kill
I don't wanna be just a senseless follower
I have a heart, I have a soul, so I don't follow you
I don't just wanna be a follower
So I don't give a fuck bout what you do, do, do
But I myself will not give in to the tyranny
So you'll watch me leave
No one's gonna stop me
Look, I'm walking out the doors of tyranny
And I'm not gonna be a senseless follower
Ever again in my life.
