Merlin on BBC Answers

Great question Stacey I'm really going to have to go away and think about this one. There are so many.LOL Will be back later to give my answer.

Sorry this took so long, stacey but I think I have one.
It's the since when Arthur is getting ready to marry Princess Elena and Merlin walks in with his sword.
M:I brought you your ceremonial sword
A: Is that for me to fall on.
M:Hopefully not....What's wrong?
A:You wouldn't understand, Merlin. You have no idea what it is like to have a destiny you can't escape.
M:Destinies are troublesome things.
(Arthur takes his sword and sheaths it)
M:You feel trapped, like your whole life is being planned out for you and you've no control over anything, and sometimes you don't even know if what destiny decided is really the best thing at all.
A:How come you're so knowledgeable?
M:Hmmm? Oh! I read a book.
A:What would this book tell you? Should I marry her?
M:That's not really my place to say.
A:I'm asking you. It's your job to answer.
M:If you really want to know what I think.
I think you're mad. I think you're all mad.People should marry for love, not convenience. And if Uther thinks an unhappy King makes for a stronger kingdom, then he's wrong. Cause you may be destined to rule Camelot, but you have a choice....as to how you do it.

This is one of my most favourite scenes because you get more of an idea of what these two. After this conversation Arthur realises he dosn't have to do everything Uther tells him to do. He can think more of what he wants to happen in his future. He seems to listen more to what Merlin says to him too.It such a heart renching scene. Hope you like it.

Actually I know the scene exceedingly well and it is one of my personal favourites ELLA. I thought it brilliant as well as the 'Don't be a prat" sequence.

u know...not a lot of scenes made me cry on the show , actually only the A/G kiss in 3x10 "ill always love you" made me cry.
Ivent watched the 3x08 because i generally dont like the episode without gwen in it but this scene of merlin reaviling his power really get me , his sadness is heartbreaking and thats porbably why , for now , im not a fan of the merlin/arthur friendship.
the most dramatic scenes who broke my heart are

1) 2x04 when Arthur sees Lancelot and Gwen together , the pain on his face , the way he pushed her away and humiliated her was too hard for my heart to handle
" i only came because morgana begged me"

2)2x08 the sin of the father , when Arthur is about to kill his father after finding out the truth about Ygraine
Colin's acting was truly sublime as always but Bradley 's acting impressed me.
"there isnt a day passes that i dont wish that she were still alive"
I really felt for Uther , he meants every words he said even if he was lying to his son in a way

3) probably that scene of merlin revealing his power to Gilly

4) when merlin sees freya again in 3x13 and when Gwen tells Arthur she is proud of him

Oh Naima, thank you for the rather poignant reminder of S2E4 and Uther's bit of truth. I too actually believed him in the moment. Well agree about the rest <3. Bloody marvellous, my dear, as always.
