OMG. i have just watched all the seasons for the first time, and i know its only a show but i must say it is the best thing i have EVER seen. The writers did a fantastic job. I am a 35 year old man and i must say this is the only show that has ever brought me to tears. I am so gutted for Arthur's death, unexpeceted, but even more i am gutted for Merlins everlasting limbo, never to see the king again. great show, i feel i will miss both Arthur and Merlin like losing a loved one. So, I just finished Merlin on Netflix and it was amazing!(I finished all 5 seasons in 2 weeks! Also can't believe I haven't watched this show before!) Yes it was sad when Arthur died but, I was even more distraught for Merlin and all the emotions he went through. I'm still watching season 3, but I know spoliers & I'm kinda confused...
I felt like the show was family-stype "prequel" for arthurian legends, not their interpretation. I thought the writers will introduce the characters, show their journey/adventures, but end the show with Arthur being king supporting magic, with Merlin as his official advisor etc, not with his death. I always pictured king Arthur dying quite old... Does it mean he & Merlin didn't fulfill their destiny...? Posted over a year ago

BREAKING NEWS: Merlin and Colin Morgan made it into the National Television Awards short list!! YAY! It is only the 2nd time Merlin (show) has made it, and the very first time any of the cast have made it to the top four! Given this, and that the show has now ended we should really send it off on a high as a big 'thank you' to all cast and crew. I both loved and hated the end. I hate it because I can now no longer go back and read fanfic or watch the earlier eps without it all being tainted with what happened. I loved it because it was great emotional fodder and I am not ashamed to say I bawled like a baby. Posted over a year ago

I haven't been on this spot more often, but all i have to say is WELL DONE to the writers of Merlin.
And i love the finale, i love how it ended. I know it was tragic, but it's original. If we compare 1st season and last season, we can see, that so much had happend. And i love it.

Last night it was officially announced Merlin will not be returning after series 5 (with a possibility of a film triology).
It's been an amazing 5 years! Away from Merlin the years have been the ones which I've grown the most as a person, and the show has been with me for it all. Feel rather numb at the thought of only 5 eps left!
