FanFiction.net Question

Please help! I'm doing a request but is this person being rude or do they not care or do they just trust me that much?

I'm writing a fic for someone, it's a DW, season 7 Au rewrite with the tenth Doctor instead of the 11th (They're a 10/Clara shipper like me). Now this person is very nice and easy to write for but they only respond to a chapter when it's 10/Clara related. If it's just a regular chapter I never hear from them and I get wary to continue because I don't know if they liked it or not and I kind of need to know but then after a while they PM me asking about an update and never mention the chapter.
So, now I'm feeling like all they care about are the chapters with the romantic interactions between the 10th Doctor and Clara and they're not reading the rest and it's making me feel like my story is for nothing (and these are really long chapters I'm doing!)
So what's your thoughts about this person and should I keep writing this? Is this request worth continuing?

And if I need help from them on non 10th/Clara chapters, I get no response but otherwise they give ideas coming out of my ears if it's Clara/Ten!

I'd guess that this person is reading it all, but possibly can only think of something to say about the more romantic scenes. I rarely comment on every chapter of a story I'm reading (though I've never had one specifically written for me, and in that scenario maybe I'd be able to react more). Could you ask this person for more of a reaction? Also, do you like writing the story? If you're only writing it for this person, and you aren't getting the feedback you want, maybe you should drop it in favour of something you'd prefer. But if you do that, maybe you should warn the person beforehand, and give him or her a chance to react to the non-romance portions too.

I like the concept but it's aggravating when they won't tell me what they want and I do ask. Like when I had to do Mr. Clever it was like pulling teeth out of a baby to get anything out of them cause I was nervous what to write and I needed them to tell me. I mean I didn't want Mr. Clever to turn into Kilgrave! But with romance it's so much easier to get a response or what they thought of the chapter. I really need to know how I'm doing but they won't tell me, it's always 'how's that update coming? It's been a while!?' I don't know what to do.

I don't expect a review every time but if all you notice is the romantic chapters then why I am I doing a Sci-fi show rewrite? You see what I mean? Why not just have me do a bunch of romantic one shots, then? What am I doing all this writing for!?

I'm wanting to say that they are reading it all but they are simply more passionate about the romantic scenes. In my Sokkla fanfiction my most reviewed chapters were the more romantic ones. Romance sells (in a sense) in fanfiction.
