12 Season Color Wheel
12 Season Color Wheel
So I never really got to experience much of fashion-culture growing up and have just recently begun to give it any focus or attention. I have heard of the rule that "Redheads shouldn't wear pink." and I have seen some people discuss this here on FanPop in terms of Ariel and her pink dress. I have also read many comments debating Aurora's famous "Blue vs. Pink Dress". In those discussions, I heard a talented user on this site, link say things like "She's a Winter." etc. I thought that was so fascinating! I had never heard of this concept before so I decided to look into it. That is how I came across the 12 Season System which is an adaptation of the earlier 4 Season System. Since this was all so new to me and quite complex and nuanced, I had to find as much detailed explanations as I possibly could to understand it. There are two major sites I used and they will be provided for those of you who are interested! :D

The first site: link by Lora Alexander, a licensed esthetician, makeup artist, certified Image Consultant and artist. She put it quite perfectly "Sure, you CAN wear whatever color you want to. But if you want to look YOUR BEST, you’ll want to wear colors that harmonize with your natural coloring. It’s really that simple. Color Analysis is NOT A FAD! In fact, it’s scientific, based on the 1898 color theory by artist and professor Albert Munsell. link Its effects are profound. And it can simplify your life by eliminating bad shopping choices in clothes, makeup, hair color and even jewelry and accessories. Think of the time and money that can be saved!"
I used this site more for the understanding of the color theory itself, it's accuracy and an overall introduction to the seasons and their unique traits.
The second site: link This site was such a "godsend" for me as it helped me so much with understanding the "dominant characteristics" of which I wasn't fully understanding from the 1st site. This cleared up much of the questions I had as it goes into a little more detail about those dominant traits and less into the psychology etc. of the color theory.
I used this site more for the understanding of the dominant traits, more details and how the subtle nuances determine the accuracy of placements.

Obviously this is all very new to me and I am certainly no expert but I did my best after lots of reading on these seasons and dominant traits, to place each Disney Princess in her appropriate season. I would love to hear your guys' opinions, especially from the ones who know all about this stuff! I must say that when I changed some colors on some of the DPs that I felt were not in their right color, it really did make a difference! They suddenly looked more "vibrant" and less "washed out" which is the subtle effect of the colors. [*NOTE: If there is a season not represented by a current official DP then I did my best to find a non-official DP for comparison sake.]

Step 1: Finding Your Dominant Characteristic
"The first step in this seasonal color analysis, is to figure out the first thing you (or anyone) notice about you when you look in the mirror/enter the room." [[*Descriptions provided by earlier mentioned websites with links.]]

Deep: (Strong, rich, dark coloring) If your dominant characteristic is Deep it means people notice your dark hair and dark eyes first. You have the deepest coloring in the analysis. You have a strong, rich coloring. Majority of women of color fall within this group.
Eyes: Black, black-brown, dark auburn, brown, dark green or dark hazel. And in some instances a very deep, dark blue. If you have an eye color other than the ones stated, you are not a deep.
Hair: Black, black-brown, chestnut brown, medium brown, dark auburn. Very deep hair color. If you have salt & pepper hair then you may belong to this season.
Celebrities: Kim Kardashian, Anne Hathaway, Kristin Kreuk, Eva Mendes, Leighton Meester

Light: (Very light and delicate) If your dominant characteristic is Light it means your hair and eyes are light. You have the lightest and most delicate coloring in the seasonal color analysis.
Eyes: Light to medium blue or green. You may also have light hazel to pale brown eyes. Quite the opposite of Deep. [[You are NOT a Light if you have brown eyes. There is another group for people with blonde hair and brown eyes (see: Soft)]]
Hair: Light to medium ash or golden blonde or soft/light auburn. Very light hair in general.
Celebrities: Gwyneth Paltrow, Naomi Watts, Taylor Swift, Kate Hudson, Reese Witherspoon

Soft: (Soft, dusty colors; nothing bright and overpowering) If your dominant characteristic is Soft-muted it means your coloring is somewhat neutral - a mix of warm and cool. You can appear light but you have a richer look. Neither Light nor Deep-dark. Often classified as 'mousy'. Many ethnic mixed with light eyes fall within this group.
Eyes: Brown to hazel, grey green, blue grey, clear blue, or a mix of everything.
Hair: Your hair may appear mousy. Golden blonde (strawberry blonde) to medium brown, soft auburn. Medium to deep ash brown. You may have light grey/yellow grey hair.
Celebrities: Jennifer Aniston, Drew Barrymore, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, Nicole Richie, Katherine Heigl, Vanessa Williams, Rihanna, Jessica Biel

Clear: (Bright, clear colors, nothing muted or dusty) If your dominant characteristic is Clear it means you have a bright and crisp look to your coloring. Your eyes have a clear color which is intensified with your bright hair. The opposite of Soft. Peaches n' cream look. Your eyes are sparkly and jewel-like and often a total knock-out (see celeb examples and you'll know what I mean).
Eyes: Clear blue, turquoise blue or green, clear green, emerald or sparkly amber/topaz.
Hair: Black, black-brown, medium to dark brown. You may have very bright golden deep blonde or red hair. You may have very golden white-blonde hair.
Celebrities: Megan Fox, Liv Tyler, Courtney Cox, Jenny McCarthy, Heather Graham, Emilie de Ravin, Brittany Snow

Warm: (Yellow based colors, no blue undertones) If your dominant characteristic is Warm it means you have an all-over glow to your coloring. With obvious warm and earthy undertones to your hair, eyes and skin. The majority of classic red-heads fall within this group. Skin tone has more evident warm undertones than cool.
Eyes: Brown, olive green, dark hazel, light hazel, blue.
Hair: Is neither deep or light, has a medium intensity - Light to medium golden brown, medium chestnut, rich and warm red (coppery), auburn, deep golden brown, strawberry blonde
Celebrities: Amy Adams, Nicole Kidman, Kate Beckinsale, Beyonce, Hilary Duff, Debra Messing, Julianne Moore, Lindsay Lohan.

Cool: (Blue based colors, no yellow or golden undertones) If your dominant characteristic is Cool it means you have an all-over cool look to your coloring. You may appear deep but what sets you apart from the dark-haired (Deep) is your softened, grayish undertones. Many with graying hair fall within this group. Your skin has an obvious grayish, ashy or cool undertone to it. You may have had a warmer coloring when you were younger but it has softened in your aging years.
Hair: Ashy (medium-dark or red) hair, silver ashy blonde or grey/silver mix hair
Eyes: Gray-blue, hazel, softened blue, violet, soft dark brown, charchoal gray.
Celebrities: Liz Hurley, Meryl Streep, Jamie Lee Curtis, Brooke Shields, Jennifer Connelly, Kate Middleton, Elizabeth Taylor

Step 2: Finding Your Secondary Characteristic & Season
Once you’ve determined your dominant characteristic, next decide if the warmer or the cooler colors look best (or medium/light/dark depending on your characteristics). [*Note you need to be able to, or have someone else, be completely objective with which looks better on you, not which you like more or happen to prefer for accuracy.]
You will be either a:

Deep Winter (Cool Colors) or Autumn (Warm Colors);

Light Spring (Warm Colors) or Summer (Cool Colors);

Clear Winter (Cool Colors) or Spring (Warm Colors);

Soft Summer (Cool Colors) or Autumn (Warm Colors);

Warm Autumn (Medium Colors) or Spring (Light Colors);

Cool Winter (Darker Colors) or Summer (Medium Colors)

This is based on the undertone of your coloring. Both of the sites I provided have further coloring tests for those who are more interested. The coloring tests will help you better identify which is your season.

So Which Season Are You? (I'm a Deep Autumn like Jasmine, Pocahontas & Tiana) I hope you found this to be accurate!
Let's see who of these two that really is better
Let's see who of these two that really is better
I saw that KataraLover had written an article about Ariel and Merida and who of the two that was a better character, I decided to do the same, but with my two favorite princesses Snow White and Aurora, but also because they're imo the two most similar princesses, but anyway here we go

Similarities:
They have a lot of things in common, they both love animals, they have the same dream, they're both considerd beautiful by people around them and they both had to be saved by their princes

Differences:
One of the biggest differences between them is that Aurora is pessimistic and Snow White is more optimistic,...

I decided to write this because there's always a moment where each of these princesses aren't happy so well here we go :)

The only rule I had was that the princess has to show any feeling except happiness for majority of the scene so not the whole scene that's too hard to find almost at least!

Snow White: The Forest Scene

This is in my opinion one of the scariest movie moments, maybe even the scariest, it scares me whenever I watch the scene. What makes me love this scene so much is the animation, it's so well done that it scares me. This scene clearly shows that Disney has a dark side!...

There's been a slight change to Aurora's list. Basically I just copied and paste all the words and made a simple switch. There's a new #1.

5.Blake Lively
This choice is purely based on appearance because personally I think this girl is a terrible actress. But I also think she's beautiful enough to play Aurora. Besides, it's not like she has to do much.

4.Amber Heard
Now this actress actually is talented but keeps doing borderline awful projects. Amber has definitely has the sex appeal to play this role. She's one of my favorite actresses right now and I think she could do a great job....

Ariel is probably the hardest princess to find actresses for. Alot of the women who play could her, like Alyson Hannigan, are alittle old now. Anyway don't expect to see Amy Adams because she's already Giselle and I find her very unnattractive.

5.Emma Stone
Even though Emma is pretty much the princess of Hollywood right now, I don't think she's that good of choice to play Ariel. Sure she has red hair and blue eyes but I don't think she's ever played a role similar to a bubbly princess. Which is why she's at the bottom.

4.Miley Cyrus
I know guys, but let's face it, She Looks Like Ariel....

Well this idea just came to me. Everyone has different opinions on who should play the princesses. This is my opinion on the top five actresses who could play Snow White. I'll be doing this with the other princesses when I have the time. And what better way to do it than chronologically.

5.Ellen Page
The ironic thing about Snow White is that most of the actresses today that look like her usually play roles that are more or less the opposite of her personality. Ellen Page may look like Snow White but she plays roles of girls who are cynical, sarcastic and sometimes have low self esteem,...

Sigh..... I know this is the third Disney princess outfit article in a row but with all due respect to KataraLover and sweetie94 I've been working on mine for awhile and I hope you don't feel like I ripped you off. There's not a princess who's outfits I entirely hate, so this list was a bit difficult to make. Keep in mind these are just my opinions also.

10. Rapunzel

Ok so our list starts out with one of the favorites gone. I know a lot of people enjoy her purple dress but I just don't. It reminds me of a kids costume that little kids wear at the parks. It's short and is that purple that...

Author's note; I haven't done this for a while, but I'm gonna keep going with them. I am very excited to be writing this, because It's been SO fun researching! Oh, and BTW, if you want to read my article BEFORE this one, the link is link The one before this one isn't as good as the others, but it's alright, I guess.

First I made an article saying how fanpop users remind me of disney characters, now I'm going to do the same with people I know in real life. I'm gonna talk about my dad, mom, sister, sister-in-law, my three best friends, niece, dog, and brother. Sorry if I get too personal about somethings on here. Please leave a comment of what you think.

Hi everyone. So I know there are many other prettiest princesses countdowns, but I haven´t done mine so I decided to go for it. This is based on my opinion and not on picks done here, and for the record I think all of the princesses are very pretty. Also my opinion on this issue changes a lot, but for now these are my top most beautiful princesses.

10.Rapunzel
I think she is very cute. I love her hair (both as a blonde and as a brunette) and her lips. Her smile is also very nice, but her eyes are just a little too big for my taste, the color is nice though. Her head also looks a little big....

This movie is my favorite disney movie. It will always have a special place in my heart. I don't think disney can come up a better movie. Everytime I watch it, it does something to me that no other disney movie does. I don't know how to explain it. It makes me feel all happy inside when it's over. The part when Snow White dies and all the dwarfs and forrest animals gather at Snow Whites coffin and cry makes me cry everytime. Another reason, it's so special to me is because it's disneys original movie. I absolutely adore all the charecters in the movie. It has my favorite princess (Snow White),...

But Daddy - just one more cream-coated yoghurt raisin sponge cake... PLEASE?
This idea sort of hit me in the face whilst I was doodling in the back of my French book on Tuesday when I should have been doing a listening exercise about someone wanting to be a doctor. What if Ariel didn't want our world for our junk and our legs but our marvellous food? That underwater stuff must be dead gross.
I actually started writing this around a doodle of fat Ariel, but yeah. My French book's at school so improvisation time!

Basically, fat Ariel has gained a lot of weight recently and her father has forbidden her from eating any more of this awful barbaric human junk. He's put her...

So, I decided I don't contribute nearly enough, probably because I lose at everything. But despite the awfulness that is me, I still want to write more articles. So, here are my opinions about Snow White. It'll be long, rambling, and I doubt any of you will read it all the way through, but here it is anyway. In the slim chance that anyone is interested.

MacytheStrange's Opinions On Snow White

To some people, Cinderella has always represented someone making the best out of a bad situation. For me, it's Snow White. She's only fourteen and she's made to dress in clothes that are falling apart (and...

So, we did this countdown a while ago, but I’ve wanted to write my personal opinions on it, and the articles I’ve written since just seemed to fit with the timing better, so this one kept getting pushed back. Sorry about that! However, if my writing this late keeps the conversation going, I’m glad I kept pushing it back!
Warning: Tiana’s section contains a LONG rant.

10. Aurora
Aurora doesn’t really do much in her movie, heck, she isn’t even really the protagonist. This film isn’t really about what Aurora does but more what happens to Aurora. Aurora sets very little of the film in...

Hello, everyone! My name is Jaina, for those of you that don't know me. This is the results for your choices of our favorite outfit/dress for each Disney Princess. This wasn't a countdown, so the order I'll be doing is the order of the DP's, starting with Snow White and ending with the latest addition, Merida. I never realized how many outfits or how many different (and confusing) ways that you could describe each outfit. Anyways, let's begin!

Thank you to all of our 17 participants.

Snow White

Snow White only has two outfits, which are completely different from each other. One is rags,...

10.Someday My Prince Will Come
Coming in last place, Snow White's song "Someday My Prince Will Come". (I know we're not used to Snow White coming in last place, so try to contain your shock.) It's a quick but sweet song about her wanting her prince and her to be reunited. It's really a lovely song but people complained it was a bit too short.

This song is a mellow, charming, uplifting song about sticking to your dreams even...

Oh my God...why can't my list ever stay the same! I swear, I feel like it's constantly changing...what am I saying; IT IS constantly changing. I can't help it! Each time I watch one of their movies, my opinion changes. Let me get one thing straight...I do not dislike ANY of them. There are some that I just LOVE, and others I just "like". So don't be offended if you find your favorite Princess low on my list. I like her...just the others a little more.

10. Tiana (#9 on my last list)
The Determined Princess
