Before the Proposal

"Your Majesties?" Eugene asked nervously as he knocked on their study room door.
"Come in, boy." a deep voice called calmly from inside. Eugene walked inside, with his hands shaking nervously.
"What is it, Eugene?" the Queen asked as Eugene sat down on the chair in front of his soon to be in-laws.
"Me and Rapunzel have known each other for a while now and-"
"Yes, continue." the Queen said with a look in her eye that knew what was going to happen next. Eugene resumed talking "and, I was hoping you will allow her to be my wedded wife." There was a silence.
"You want to marry Rapunzel? Our Rapunzel?" the King asked with a shock.
"Yes, I would. If you will let me." Eugene replied with a serious look on his face "Rapunzel is the only person I truly love. I want to be with her for the rest of my life."
The King and Queen had a huddle and discussed his proposal together. Eugene's palms were sweating, he crossed his fingers tightly, what if they said no? Who would he have by his side for the rest of his life? After a couple minutes, the King and the Queen were ready to tell Eugene their verdict. The King's lips parted to say "So, when will you be proposing?" he said with a smile and a chuckle. The Queen stood up and gave her future-son-in-law a tight embrace "Rapunzel will love this. Look after her okay?" the Queen said shedding a tear.
"Don't worry, I will your Majesties!" Eugene said excitedly.
"Call us mother and father." The Queen said smiling.
"Tell us, boy, when are you going to propose to my daughter?" the King asked.
"I plan to ask her tomorrow, on her 20th birthday." Eugene replied with a sure look on his face.
"Son, wait, here have this," The Queen said revealing a beautiful 25 carat diamond ring (which will grace Rapunzel's ring finger very soon) "this ring has been passed down from my side of the family, I'm currently wearing the ring from the King's side of the family but I want Rapunzel to have this" the Queen placed the purple velvet box in Eugene's hands.
"Thank you, Mother and Father." Eugene said smiling as he embraced Rapunzel's parents.

The Proposal

As the sunset on Rapunzel's 20th birthday, just before the Kingdom released the lanterns, Eugene took Rapunzel on a boat to the same place they viewed the lanterns 2 years ago on Rapunzel's 18th birthday.
"Where are we going?" Rapunzel asked.
"To the same place we went to see the lanterns on your 18th birthday." Eugene smiled.

The time came when the lanterns soared up into the dark blue and lit up the night sky. Rapunzel was gazing in awe at all the lanterns.
"Rapunzel?" Eugene asked. Rapunzel turned around to find Eugene holding two lanterns that said "Marry me?" in big, beautiful bold writing. Rapunzel's eyes filled up with tears. She was completely stunned and bedazzled by Eugene's question.
"YES! A million times yes!" Rapunzel cried happily. As she sat down, Eugene opened up the purple velvet box to reveal the diamond ring.
As he gently slid the ring onto Rapunzel's dainty ring finger, he said "Rapunzel, I want to be with you for the rest of forever! I've never felt what I feel now for anyone except you. I love you, Rapunzel."
"I love you too, Eugene." Rapunzel exclaimed as she leaned over to give her fiancee a passionate kiss. The two parted their lips and lifted their two lanterns into the gold studded sky.

When the two returned to the castle. Rapunzel stood in front of her parents, with her hands behind her back, beside Eugene.
"Mom... Dad... WE'RE ENGAGED!" Rapunzel exclaimed, showing her engagement ring, wearing the biggest, most beautiful smile that reminded Eugene that Rapunzel was truly the girl for him.

mmmm...I guess the one thing I like about her is that she really knows how to take care of herself out there. -Swanpride

She does one unique thing for a disney princess: she is called out on her selfishness and mistakes by the narrative, owns them, AND works to fix the problem. She realizes her mom has a point as much as Merida herself does and learns to appreciate her. Also, she learns true bravery- not shooting arrows, swinging a sword, or climbing waterfalls, but admitting you caused harm. That's never easy. Merida avoids some of the outdated tomboy princess tropes by doing all this, but...

1. Congrats on winning Fan of the Month! How does it feel?
Thank you! It feels really amazing. I actually was Fan of the Month once, back in the old Fanpop days when the Fan of the Month was still fairly new. Although, back then, once you won once, you couldn't be nominated ever again, so I actually never thought I would get to be Fan of the Month again, which makes it all the more of an honor for me.

2. We know you love Moana and Ariel, do you have any other favorite princesses?
If you mean of the official Disney Princesses, I'd say Mulan, Pocahontas, and Tiana are the ones I'm absolutely in...

Hey, guys! Happy beginning of Autumn! Anyway, a few weeks ago, I decided that I would maybe think about rewatching Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs for the first time in nearly five years. After thinking about it a little more thought, I decided, why not ALL the Disney movies? Okay, not all of them because with online school, play practice, reading, baking, and cooking, I probably don't have time for that. But for those of you who are wondering what films I was thinking of watching or rewatching and writing about on Fanpop, here they are (I might put in links to the articles once I finish them):...

I love that despite how she grew up she's always optimistic and sweet, I love her passion for painting and her art style, and I love her singing voice -BB2010

I love Rapunzel's intelligence, creativity, and curiosity. She charted stars and never gave up on her dreams to see the floating lanterns. She is also very honest, kind, and optimistic, which I love. She sees the good in others and doesn't give up on anyone that she loves. -sunnyfields

I love her enthusiasm! But I especially love how she overcomes years of psychological abuse. She has so much inner strenght. -Swanpride

In 2013 Frozen took the world by (ice) storm, it was everywhere. Let it Go played on the radio constantly, you couldn't go to a store without seeing Frozen merch, everyone was talking about it, many thought it was one of Disney's best movies in a long time.

Then the backlash began...

People got sick of all the Frozen after a while, even now there's still Frozen all over the place and people tend to roll their eyes when someone even mentions Frozen. The thing is, nothing about the movie or characters had changed, it was still a good movie with a decent soundtrack, interesting characters, and...

On the fourth day of Princess
Walt Disney gave to me,

four braiding girls
three fairy spells
two lucky pals
and the wisdom of an old tree.

As difficult as my pick for march was, as easy was the one for April. After all, the most obvious holiday to feature is Easter, and there is only one princess which came back from the death. The most difficult part for this one was to decide which day to mark...the friday, the sunday, the monday or all of them. I felt that "all of them" would be going a little bit overboard, so I finally went for the monday. I hope that is okay with you.

And naturally I...

Okay so this is really late and I'm putting it up kinda late in the night, on Thanksgiving, no less. But I finally rewatched Brave tonight! I got a subscription to Disney+ at the start of this month and I finally set up my account on my mom's tv (if I'm going to leech off her Netflix and Hulu, she can at least be able to use my Disney+) and my niece put on Brave, one of her favorite movies, and we all sat down and watched it together :)

Today's rewatch: Brave
Last time watched: August 2017

How much did I like this movie when it came out?
So when this movie was advertised I was excited to watch...

Thank you to everyone who participated in Princess of the Month! For November we celebrated Belle, so here's an article on why we adore her:

Belle is my favorite princess, so I could wax eloquent concerning all the things I adore about her. In the interest of space, though, here is one thing I particularly love about her: her sense of self-worth. I don't feel like this is often talked about, but it's really inspiring to see her embrace her interests even in the face of constant ostracization from the townspeople. Everyone thinks she's weird and whispers behind her back, but despite this she...
