What's your opinion about having a fictional boyfriend?

I dunno about about a boy friend, I think that's too much. But I have fictional crushes!

It depends. I mean, I have a few but it really matters on how far you go with it.

Some people in Japan practically "Marry" A body pillow. I've heard articles about people actually buying a ring, and wedding dress of their anime girl body pillow.

I have problem with it.In fact,I have a few,being an anime weirdo (weirdo is a good thing to me).

No one should get in the way of someone's imagination,so it shouldn't be a problem if you have an imanginary boyfriend.I sure as heck wont get in the way.

I'll be honest, I have a lot of fictional character crushes, I go to an all girls school and I get teased about it all the time, But I have no shame

Eh, I like fictional crushes because it shows that you admire the character and how s/he was created (unless you just have a crush because s/he is hot, because then that's just being shallow) and it helps you gain a sense of what type of person you would want as a real-life lover.

But having a fictional boyfriend is crossing the line a bit. It's like you're trying to make real something that isn't real, and it's making you draw yourself more into the fictional work instead of helping you develop your sense of self for the real world. Like I have tons of fictional crushes from different anime (especially Hetalia), but I know that in reality, only a couple of them hold personalities that I would like to find in a potential boyfriend, like Rishid Ishtar- he'd DEFINITELY be the type I like if he was real!

i actually have one too0.o i think its perfectly fine as long as you keep one foot in reality. but i will admit ive slipped up a few times and at least it was with my friends and not my family.

I've been in the situation where I've obsessed over a fictional character before to the point of labeling them "husband".
Just don't take it too far to where it conflicts with your everyday life. That's all I'll say on the subject.

Actually, i'm not sure if that's a very good idea. Iv'e never been an anime fan, but i'm pretty sure it would be kind of like the same thing if i said one of my celebrity crushes was my boyfriend. It might be fun to say, but if you start believing it you could have trouble telling fiction from reality, and that wouldn't be good for when you're ready to have a real boyfriend.
