Avatar Aang was raised by monks, although the identity of his real parents was unknown. Being raised by monk Aang was taught about life and to respect it, the ways of the monks are ways of peace and meditation, Aang was already a master airbender before he found out he was the avatar, he learnt and mastered all four elements by the end of the summer. And all his masters were part of Team avatar(katara, toph, zuko). And he was just a kid. Monks are also spiritual people thats why it didn't take Aang along time to master going into the spirit world.
Well in Avatar Korra's case she mastered three elements(water, earth and fire) when she was about 4 years old. She was strong and powerful, even without her bending Avatar korra can still stand up to anyone. Like in book2:spirits where she defeated Unavaatu(unalaq and vaatu) she did it without her bending, even though it took her along time to master air and the ways of spirits. She is a water bender and not a monk so it is a normal thing for it to be difficult at first but now she mastered it all and we can say that avatar korra is a great heroine. Avatar Aang is a great hero, both of them are great even though they are so different.

It is well known that the show's creators based each bending style on an existing martial art. Waterbending was based off link, Earthbenders off link, for the most part, Firebenders off link and Airbenders link.

While ATLA focused on mastering these fighting styles in a physical sense that is only on single facet of the training that goes into becoming a master of the martial arts. Body is the easiest. Mind was covered though the opening of the link, a real concept featured in tantric and yogic traditions of Hinduism and Buddhism. If we assume that the writers put as much study and research...

With everything going on in this spot I kind of wanted to say a little something nice about the 4 main characters. While yeah it was harder for me to talk nicely about some characters I decided to dig deep and give it a try.

Part 1; What I Like about Each Character
Sato

Easy one first; I love Sato because she's sweet and kind no matter what. Despite being cheated on and lied to she stuck with the team and didn't turn to the dark side as part of some petty vengeance scheme. I love how she was generous in funding the Fireferrets and allowed them to stay in her mansion. I also admire her bravery...

Korra and Mako stop kissing and both let go of their lips. Korra is finally happy to finally have the guy she had loved for so long. Mako is also happy to finally

realize that Korra was really the one for him. Meanwhile inside the pro bending match. Asami saw Bolin holding pink flowers.

"Who are those for?" Asami asked.

"There for Korra. I had fun on my date with her. So I thought I should give her flowers" Bolin said with a smile. Asami had a frown on her face.

"Bolin i'm sorry but I think Korra and Mako just got together. He just broke up with me and.... but Bolin cut her off.

"WHAT! She's...

I was reading zanhar1's article link and one thing she said really popped out at me. Here's the quote:

"The main reason as to why I think TLOK gets so much hate is because ATLA was such a great show that by comparison, Korra just doesn't stand a chance. I mean Avatar was a masterpiece with unbeatable and lovable characters (to the point where one can even love the character they hated to some degree!) and a wicked plot. With that in mind I think people set their standards too high. They were expecting something that would blow Avatar away or at least match up with the show. And when Korra was...

The next morning, Korra spent her time with Pema and cleaning the house while her friends went into city. Korra didn't even acknowledge Mako at breakfast. Mako left with a guilty look on his face. Not only has he been lying to his girlfriend about his feelings for Korra and the kiss, he's been causing Korra pain and now has pushed her away. He just didn't know what to do. He fell for both girls. Each is special in their own way. Either one he chose he wouldn't be happy because there would be someone getting hurt, and Mako didn't want that.

Korra still has that stone look on her face. Pema has...
