It's not because they have a larger fanbase that they're winning. At least one SE fan has figured out how to hack the site, get around the captcha and automate their votes. I read about how it's done and you can get at least 1000 votes per hour with each computer you set up to do it. If they're reported and Portrait investigates, the person could be banned from the site. Not sure if anyone has thought it worth reporting or not. over a year ago

Apparently an SE fan said they did it--at least according to a friend of a SE fan (Team_tonks talked about it a few days ago, as it was her friend who told her). Actually, it's not hard to prove because every time you vote it shows the website your IP address. So if someone is able to vote insanely fast 24 hours a day/7 days a week, then that's a dead give-away. over a year ago
