Just because there's a lot of negativity that Glee only created this episode because of Newtown, the episode itself has been in production for about 6 months, which was before the shooting. They still did decide to go forward with it, and yeah it was probably originally intended as a ratings ploy (that worked), but it wasn't ONLY to capitalize on Newton specifically. Wow I was shocked at how well they handled that. Could have done better, but could have done a LOT worse too. Warnings to anyone who watches: this is an emotionally-intense and thematic episode. the warning at the beginning is no lie and it's the main plot.
