-Why Superman beats Goku

The Superman VS Goku fight is quite possibly the biggest comic/manga crossover ever. No matter how much each side debates, there is never a full conclusion drawn.

Every DBZ fan boy will tell you Goku would take this fight easily. This is simply and plainly wrong. We will be discussing Superman Pre-Crisis, Kingdom Come, Prime, and One Million Superman.

And you know there are versions of Superman that are not weak against Kryptonite? In Kingdom Come, Due to a lifetime of absorbing yellow-solar radiation, he is more powerful than ever, and is even immune to kryptonite. Then There's Superman Prime. (see Link)

The first matter of discussion in balance of power is The Sword Of Superman. The sword formed during creation's Big Bang with an "S" logo emblazoned in its handle; this "Sword of Superman" floats around space for centuries until it finally comes into contact with Superman. When Superman grasps the sword, it begins to make him an all-powerful, all-knowing super deity.

Second matter of business. Superman sat in the sun for a millennia and became practically omnipotent, a.k.a One Million Superman, a.k.a Sun-Dipped Superman. He is capable to travelling faster than the speed of light, he is also strong enough to punch through the time barrier, leap between planets and invulnerable to practically everything. Along with the traditional Kryptonian senses ten new abilities were added to the Dynasty by the marriage of a Superman to Queen Gzntplzk of the Fifth Dimension. These new abilities include techno-rapport (the ability to control computers), limited control of magnetism, genesis level intellect, super-ESP (a form of super-hypnosis), no longer as susceptible to magic, the ability to think billions of different lines of thought at the same time, etc.

These are just a few of the feats I see in the silver age comics. Superman once traveled so fast that he was destroying the fabric of space and time and the Spectre had to show up and tell him to slow the hell down. There was once a story where Superman, standing in front of Lois Lane, heard the cries of another galaxy, and, within the time it took Lois to blink, had flown to said galaxy, ended the problem, and returned without her even noticing. He has re-ignited a sun by crashing two moons together and lighting them with his heat vision.
All-Star Superman. This guy is freakin’ unbeatable.

No matter how you draw it out, 200 Quintillion tons >>>>>>>>>>&g­t;&­gt;­40 tons. That is a huge gap that Goku just can’t overcome.

There is no way Goku could win Against The Man Of Steel. These versions of Superman are practically inmpervious to harm.


So, PreCrisis, Sun-Dipped Superman, with the full power of the sword of Superman CANNOT BE BEATEN!!!

Firstly, can we all agree that both of these characters have been and/or are ridiculously over-powered, even in their respective universes and/or entertainment mediums?

Secondly, could we all agree that there are just too many different continuities & differing writers' renditions for both characters to fairly/accurately compare the two?

That being said, perhaps a comparison between only two continuities at a time, one for Supes & one for Goku. When I answered this Fanpop Pick, my choice was based upon the live action Superman films and the DragonBall Z TV series (minus the Buu Saga, Goku being "dead" and all). Then we can compare continuities to our hearts' desires.

Not only will it be easier to compare Superman to Goku, we will get to be more enlightened about these two very popular characters. Of course y'all could just tell me to piss off... oh well, that'd be just two cents wasted :P

After some research & some humble pie, I am forced to pick Superman. Bottom line is that Goku is every bit as destructive as Supes, probably faster & more agile, and definitely has a larger skills set of the fighting arts, however Goku can't survive in space, has never been a deity, & never contained or escaped, a freaking black hole.

What Goku has going for himself is that he seems to enjoy his life a lot more, he has no issues with having a large, extended family, & he has no problem being himself & socializing. Goku's afterlife is even sweeter. Goku gets to enjoy tournament fighting with other dead warriors for fun or he can visit HFIL (Hell) to kick the asses of dead adversaries, & get back to Heaven at will. Goku can even continue to communicate with his friends, who are still alive!

Superman is the overall, superior fighter but in all honesty, other than getting to bed Lois Lane, I would much rather have Goku's life... and afterlife.

FIRS AND FOREMOST: It is not a popualrity contest, so dont just go and choose whoever you prefer people. Its not about being a fan, it's about who is the strongest.

Ahem sorry to say that, but there are too many re-editions of Superman to count them all. So If we stik with canon superman(the one who ahs no transformations) and canon Goku(Not counting DB:GT) well then Goku would easily win.

Four simple facts justify that.
1: Goku knows martial arts and techniques while superman is a mere brawler. Goku has both technique and strength while Superman only ahs strength.
2: Goku can lift up to 400 tons while moving faster than lightning.
I am pretty sure
3: Goku can shoot huge energy beams from his hands while superman only shoots two small laser beams from his eyes. Plus Goku can use instant transmition to go anywhere he wants at the speed of light or faster.
4: Goku can do the things I mentioned above in his normal state and number 2 while he is at super saiyan 1. Now remember he can go to Super Saiyan Level 2 and Super Saiyan Level 3.
Each level doubles all his "stats" he ahd at the previous one.

If we know can take other forms that are not cannon and were created by variosu other artists, I'd say it should be a tie.

I Know Goku is Strong but he is not strong enough to defeat Superman.
Why?
Because Superman can travel faster than light. He can withstand the complete Vacuum of space with ease. He can survive extreme hot and extreme cold temperatures and we are talking about the freezing temperature of the space and the extremely hot temperature of the sun.
And the two laser beams that he shoots from his eyes are actually solar energy that can even emit as much heat as that of the sun itself. And he has X-ray vision and telescopic vision through which Superman can easily cut the brains out of Goku by using Heat Vision plus his other visions like he did once to defeat The Elite. Goku may be able to lift 400 tons but Superman is able to lift some sextillion tons easily. I don't know what happens when you throw Goku in the sun....but throwing Superman in the Sun only means increasing his powers. So. puhleaase give me a break...and I am talking about the normal version of Superman...

Those who voted Goku need to test their facts. Superman doesn’t only have Superstrength. Superman has no limits when Goku only tests them. Goku might be able to fight gods but Superman was practically always able to do this. I’m sure Goku would survive if he was thrown into the sun but Ki is not magic. Superman is weak against magic, not Ki. Superman knows martial arts too. Please check your facts before making the argument that Goku is more experienced in that field.

It's a hard choice, but I would go with both or Superman
