a subliminal message is where in a movie or show they have pictures or words (that are very quiet) you do not notice because they are hidden. But there are other places they can be in too, like songs. If you listen to some of the lyrics backward there can be scary things or funny things said. A lot of the messages you see or hear make your mind want you to do things like black magic, smoke, or lots of other bad things. some shows have been banned for doin this like cow and chicken.
