Game of Thrones: Jim Broadbent reveals his season 7 role 

The British actor just revealed his not-so-secret role in the upcoming season of the HBO hit.

role, which EW was first to report last year. After saying he wasn’t allowed to reveal anything, Broadbent went ahead and spilled anyway:

“I’m a maester, an archmaester. I’m an old professor character,” he reportedly said.

If that weren’t enough, Broadbent then also added that he’s in five of the season’s seven episodes and films with John Bradley’s character, Sam Tarly.

The reveal matches what fans have suspected about Broadbent’s character — that he’s an archmaester at the Citidel in Oldtown where Sam has gone to train to become a maester.
