Fanpop Question

How come so many clubs on this site are being last updated over a year ago?

I mean, doesn't anybody make any new contribution to all those clubs anymore, or is it just a matter of getting some new members to join the club? So, which one is it? Thanks.

Because this site is dying and there's no one around to contribute to them anymore.

I'll add stuff to clubs that haven't been updated in a while but to a degree there's no point because no one really comments on the stuff I post in those kinds of clubs so, it's kind of like, "why bother?"
If no one interacts with contributions then it gets kind of boring.

Smaller clubs (like for underground bands or unpopular characters) struggled to get contributions back when fanpop was flourishing. These days it's damn near impossible for them to get any real activity.

Plus if the show/movie has ended or the band stopped putting out new music, it's harder to add new content to those clubs because there really isn't anything to add. No new pics or videos. And after a while polls become redundant too.

So it's a many faceted issue.

Thanks. That was simply the best answer I ever seen on this site! :D

An additional reason could be that the fans who were previously active in that club have now moved onto a new fandom, and are spending all their time here adding contributions to the new fandom's clubs.

@21stcenturyboy Thanks! @Lowri Yeah, that could also be it too; people tend to find new shows and forget about old ones for a bit.

I think it's both really. And you're right, Brand. No one ever contributed to all those clubs for years. No one wants to join any new club either, but you already know that. Forever in *your* mind, your best friend, Tony

Thanks, mate, but I like zanhar1's answer better. Sorry, mate. :( Don't worry, I still like *you*, mate, it's just that I think your answer's too short, that's all.
