on Wednesday (July 9) at Palais Galliera in Paris, France.

The 24-year-old actress was joined at the event by model Joan Smalls and fashion forward brothers Harry and Peter Brant.

It was just announced that Emma will be the UN Women’s latest goodwill ambassador!

“Being asked to serve as UN Women’s Goodwill Ambassador is truly humbling. The chance to make a real difference is not an opportunity that everyone is given and is one I have no intention of taking lightly,” Emma said in a statement. “Women’s rights are something so inextricably linked with who I am, so deeply personal and rooted in my life that I can’t imagine an opportunity more exciting. I still have so much to learn, but as I progress I hope to bring more of my individual knowledge, experience and awareness to this role.”

Emma’s determined approach is just what young blood is needed as an ambassador for the U.n.

Emma appears to be an elegant, well-spoken “lady”…in every sense of the word! She will be an admirable ambassador. Congratulations and very best wishes in this endeavor.

For once Emma didn’t dress so freaking tacky. And yeah she’s doing this whole UN stint so we can all overlook for a little bit how awful and below mediocre of an actress she is.

I also really like her look at this event.

“Women’s rights are something so inextricably linked with who I am, so deeply personal and rooted in my life”. Really? I’ve never seen her saying or doing something to support women or any kind of association before this, and suddenly she’s an ambassador? I think she thinks she can do this only because she’s friends with young feminists like Lena Dunham and Tavi Gevinson.
