It only seems fair since we don't see his personality in the original

^Exactly. We don't see anything really of his personality in the first movie so what we see in the sequels fill the gabs (forms most of it really).

I don't judge on sequels. If I judged on sequels, I'd have a problem with some of my favourite characters from other movies.

I actually prefer him in the sequels but I NEVER judge on the Disney (not Pixar) sequels. I'm not one of these people that immediately say "sequels suck!" but all/most characters, to me, are different in their sequels. For example I really doubt Prince Charming would have this same personality (in the sequel) if Walt Disney was alive when it was made. He would probably have a completely different personality altogether, he'd barely be recognisable to that of 'Twist in Time'

Even though I DO like some Disney sequels, Cinderella III is one of the better ones, I don''t take them to heart too much. They're not "canon" to me.

I agree somewhat with Mongoose09. Basically, my general rule with sequels is to only recognize the new characters involved because the old characters often have seriously affected personalities.

^ That's the same with me. :) For example I love Angel from Scamp's Adventure and judge her based on that since she's not in any other movie - yet in the same movie I'm not a big fan of Lady&Tramp but it doesn't affect how much I love both of them in their original movies because, to me, that's who they really are.

It doesn't mean that original characters in sequels aren't great, because sometimes they are, I just don't judge them based on this.
