The Popstar one is a copy of the Pauper!!!

I don't like the way Princess and the Popstar was put together. It felt very messy and very "Just a quick buck" too me personally.

The music is WAY more better.

I like both but I've known and appreciated this one longer.

P&P will always in my top 3 BM. It is one of the best movie and PaP can't compete that.

I'm just going to be honest and say Princess & Popstar sucked. It didn't have any moral whatsoever, the characters are spoiled brats who cannot understand their lives are way above most of the population, the music was too mainstream, and the movie felt half-baked and rushed.

Princess and Pauper, too, has its flaws, but at least it has some kind of moral: Following your dreams (Heck, Erika even abandoned her true love for a few months so she can live her dream), fulfilling your duties (Anneliese having to marry Dominick to save her kingdom, anyone? Sharp contrast to Tori, who just "wants to have fun".), treasuring what's inside and not what's outside (Anneliese loved Julian because he was intelligent, kind and brave, not because he was rich; and Dominick being able to see Erika the way she was and overlook the fact that she was poor. Best demonstrated by the song "The Cat's Meow".)

I love both, but the story of Princess and the Pauper is much better and more realistic. I absolutly agree with MelodyLaurel.

I'm going to have to say that I agree with MelodyLaurel, for the most part. I don't think PaP was as awful as some of the other movies (I'd take it over Fairy Secret any day of the week), but there are a lot of aspects of it that could've been improved; namely, the portrayal of Duchess Amelia (insisting someone write a speech that needed to be written is not "mean", Mattel.)

I have seen Princess and the Popstar, but, none of the Barbie movies could beat Princess and the Pauper, in my opinion.

The Princess and the popstar is just a copy of the Princess and the Pauper. I actually had my parents record the movie on VHS when it first played on YTV, I still have the VHS copy of it and I love all the songs. I feel like when they just changed up to be a princess it was a lazy move. My sister and I also got the dolls for P&P that christmas and we'd sing the duets together. I believe P&P has more supporters only because the older generation remembers watching it at 6-8 and seeing it rebooted it with such disrespect makes us sad.
