I remember visiting this website once...
It was called Andy Biersack: “I Never Set Out To Become A Spokesperson For The Outcast…” - Features - Rock Sound Magazine
Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
"...but I know what it’s like to be a weirdo."
Andy Biersack is one of the most influential people in our scene, so he's in The Rock Sound 50 inside this month's Rock Sound magazine.
Here's a taste of the interview inside, which includes the Black Veil Brides / Andy Black man's thoughts on being an outsider, the BVB Army and calming down as he grows older.
HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE BOND BETWEEN BLACK VEIL BRIDES AND THE BVB ARMY?
“As an only child I didn’t spend a lot of time around other people, and music helped me feel like a part of something – like I wasn’t alone in the universe.
"I never set out to become a spokesperson for the outcast, but I know what it’s like to be a weirdo – even at our first shows, half the crowd wanted to kick my ass.
"Gradually I’ve built up this relationship with thousands of likeminded, passionate people. It’s us versus them, and that’s become a huge positive in my life.”
“I left home at a young age with no great education, very little money and nowhere to live, so failure was never an option.
"You can’t dwell on negativity and no matter how polarising I’ve been, mean comments on a YouTube video were not going to stop me. I used to fly off the handle and get into fights at shows, but now I don’t give much thought to the people who don’t like me.
"Just follow your dream, do what makes you happy and as long as it’s not hurting anyone else, nothing else matters.”
You can read Andy's full, revealing interview and see the rest of the Rock Sound 50 in this month's magazine.
