What's the difference between Vocaloid and Utauloid?

I'm kinda new to Vocaloid and Utauloid and some of my friends said that Vocaloid and Utauloid are different. But they look kinda the same. Are they different? If yes, what are the difference between them? I'm so confuse..

VOcaloids are created by a company and up for purchase. They also generally have a higher quality voice bank. Utauloids are numerous and can be made by anyone, although there isn't as good of quality. The more well known ones are the April fool utauloids although there are popular utauloids

If you are talking about the software, the comparison must be between Vocaloid and Utau. While both software are designed for making song vocals and share a lot of similar principles, they are not the same. Vocaloid was created by Yamaha Corporation in 2004, while Utau was created by Ameya/Ayame four years later. Vocaloid has its own voicebanks (Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin, etc.). Likewise, Utau has its own as well (Kasane Teto, Hoshina Utau, etc.). However, you can't use a Vocaloid voicebank on Utau or an Utauloid/Utau voicebank on Vocaloid, although you can export an Utau project in a format that can be opened in Vocaloid. Also, Vocaloid is more professional-oriented than Utau, though the latter offers more flexibility. Vocaloid is proprietary software while Utau is freeware. Vocaloid has a black skin GUI; Utau has a white one. Vocaloid has a track editor, Utau doesn't. Vocaloid has more popularity and exposure; Utau has more voicebanks. Other than these mentioned, there's still a lot more differences including plugins, quality, exporting, details, and performance.

Vocaloid's have their own voice bank. and with Utauloids, u hv to add a voice bank. thats really the only thing. the Utau's usualy sound way more robotic, but i like it. Fan's say that "Utauloids r just Vocaloid that weren't born into the richs, and have to work their way up there." Teto is a Utauloid, but most people by now consiter her a Vocaloid by now. hope this answers you're question.

utauloids is originally considered Vocaloids as well, UTAUloids refers to voice banks that work on UTAU. This is done to differentiate them from Vocaloids that run on Yamaha's Vocaloid and Vocaloid2 platform. Because UTAU has the ability to manually import voice sounds as WAV files, it is quite easy to create "our own" Utauloids- which has resulted in a large boom of voice banks.

Teto Kasane and Ruko Yokune belong as UTAUloids, though their creators from vip@2ch attempted to pass them off as real Vocaloids, mostly for fun. ^.^ i hope this helped you!

VOCALOIDS are characters licensed by several companies that make them. UTAULOIDS are characters made with the freeware UTAU. Whereas VOCALOID is under a third party licensing

Vocaloid is a very well know voice synthesizer, while UTAUloid is less known. Another thing that they are different for is how UTAUloid is free, while Vocaloid costs money (I believe).
