You know, Vocaloids are basically collections of notes that you can string together to produce music...but the mascot characters on the boxes have personas of their own.

Of course these aren't official, but this is just my perspective based on their vocal styles and what fans have made them out to be. Enjoy!

(NOTE: Some of these are kinda harsh, but it's just for comic relief, so lighten up ^.^)

Miku Hatsune: Cheerful, fun-loving and charismatic. She tries to avoid fights, but will never back down if dragged into one. Kinda childish and a drama queen, but has a good heart.

Rin Kagamine: Moody brat who is secretly really sweet. Likes tangy foods. Loves to prank people. Possibly a little bipolar. When somebody messes with her loved ones, she goes into full-on rage mode.

Len Kagamine: Clueless and childish. Gets excited about food and animals. Shy piece of trash; is cute, but won't admit it. Lovable. He is actually really deep and philosophical, but the instant he realizes he has a point, he totally forgets everything he was about to say.

Here's a compiled list of clubs for each specific Vocaloid people have made over the years of Fanpop!

NONE OF THESE CLUBS HAVE BEEN MADE BY ME (except the Nekomura Iroha one) I AM IN NO WAY TRYING TO PROMOTE THESE CLUBS, this is simply a list if you want to find a club for your favorite Vocaloid. Cause that's kinda the idea of Fanpop, ya know?

If a Vocaloid has multiple clubs made for them I have LISTED THEM BASED ON WHICH ONE HAS THE MOST FANS OR RECENT UPDATES. Vocaloids with a simple dash (-) next to their name DO NOT have fanclub for them, or at least one I can find. I am only listing clubs for official Vocaloids, not UTAU or fanloids nor anything else.

I'm writing this basically just as a way to see what all happened with Vocaloid in 2014

Note: If at any time I mention how many Vocaloids in a specific year, I don't count updates/add-ons as separate Vocaloids and I count Vocaloids like Rin and Len as one, since they are sold together.

For starters here's a list of all new Vocaloids that came in 2014

Macne Nana
Kokone
Anon&Kanon
v flower
Tohoku Zunko
Rana
Chika

Here's a list of updates that came in 2014

V3 Meiko
IA Rocks
Galaco NEO*
V3 Gachapoid
V4 VY1

* while all these Vocaloids were also released with NEO versions, Galaco's also included galaco talk software.

This year the V4 engine was announced and VY1 was the first V4 Vocaloid to be released!

What we didn't see in 2014:

New languages, or really any languages other than Japanese. The only Vocaloid from 2014 given any voice capabilities other than Japanese is the V3 update for Meiko which made her Japanese/English bilingual. Making 2014 and 2006(when Kaito was the only Vocaloid...

Project DIVA can be a little hard to play for beginners. Here is some of my tips and advice from experiance to anyone who has never tried it before but wants to start.

Now that Project DIVA F and Project DIVA F 2nd has english versions. I suggest that you make one of these your first try so you don't have to pay a large amount of money for an imported game from Japan.

There are other games in the series but you will have to import them. If you would like to do that instead of going to your local game store or to PSN to get an English version of PD F then I would recommend Amazon to buy an import. (that's where I got my Project DIVA 2nd for PSP)

Make sure to pick a PD game that has the songs that you like and are more familiar with.

If you get an imported game, keep in mind that the Playstation buttons O and X are switched around. X is the no and O is the yes. If you decide to start with an English version then you will not have that problem.

So I'm writing this hopefully to help people who are newer to the fandom and don't really know all of the vocabulary a person may drop when talking about vocaloids. I'm going to try and include as many words as I can and make the definitions as clear as possible, please comment if there's a word you'd like to see on this list or needs a better definition ^^.

Vocaloid1 (V1)- refers to the first group of vocaloids to be released, using early, now primitive V1 technology (basically they don't sound as clear/realistic as vocaloids from later series) includes vocaloids such as LEON, LOLA, Miriam, kaito, and meiko.

Vocaloid2 (V2) -refers to second group of vocaloids to be released all using what I'll leave as saying "V2 technology" basically meaning they sound clearer than V1, but not as much as a V3 may sound. Includes vocaloids such as Miku, Rin, Len, Luka, Gumi, Gackupo, Lily, Piko, VY2, etc.

Vocaloid3 (V3) - refers to third and most current group of vocaloids being released. All using the latest technology in hopes of sounding even clearer and more realistic than past vocaloids. Includes vocaloids such as SeeU, Oliver,...

Some of these you may or may not already know, and I'm not going to include all the vocaloids, but hope you enjoy reading this anyway. I might add more to this as time goes on, but don't hold me to it >.>

Hatsune Miku: The first sound from the future

Kagami : Mirror (Mirror image, Rin and Len can be considered mirror images of each other, as said by the company)
ne:Sound
Rin: R for Right (like on Headphones)
Len: L for Left

Mergurine Luka: Sound that goes around (because she sings in both English and Japanese)

Prima: from the term "Prima Donna"

Sonika: Hindu name for "Golden" (she wears a yellow coat, idk bout this one not to confident in it)

Galaco: original doll designed by a group called galaxxxy, dress has a space (Galaxy) design on it, Galaxy=Galaco

IA Aria On the Planetes: While IA is taken from her provider Lia, Aria On the Planetes, Aria can mean either open space(Latin) or air(Italian), Planetes means planet (Greek)

At the boundary lines mixed with jokes,
a little farther ahead of the stairs,
there is nothing good there at all, huh?
Shall I try to guide you instead?

Are you going to dance terribly
and stumble on the top of the altar?
I'm sure people will be dazzled senseless, though,
so what do you say, together right here!

The high-pitched voice has filled up this room,
swirling around some disgusting meanings.
Of course there is nothing good at all,
so now let's scream it out with all our strength!

"The meaning tied to those short phrases,
the reason for hating someone you've never met,
no matter how hard I look, I can't find them.

Getting angry despite being shy,
laughing with head lowered,
they are all, in any case, boring!"

Shall we dance with some hop steps?
Let's go "one two" in a small corner of this world.

It is really sad to see that a lot of people hate Vocaloid so much. Vocaloid is great, right? Some people just dont apprieciate its beauty. Let me show you some examples:

1) Some people say that the Vocaloid music sucks. But they arent reffering to every song created in the Vocaloid program; they were referring to the ones that are solely related to the Character Vocal Series. In other words, Miku and the other Vocaloids such as Kagamine Rin & Len, Megurine Luka, Megpoid Gumi, etc. You know, songs like Just Be Friends and Magnet.
They say that the English Translated Lyrics are pure crap. And that was just rude. They say that the lyrics are joke. No respect at all, dont they?

2) They say that Vocaloids are unoriginal. They are not pop stars, they are VOCAL SYNTHESIZERS FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! They are used as a tool. Yes, they are musical perfomers but I dont think they are completely musicians. (Using the term very loosely here, okay)

Miku and the other Vocaloids were just sitting there when Kaito noticed Len wasn't there. "E eto, min'a? (Translated: Uh, guys?" asked Kaito. "NANI? (WHAT?)" Yelled the other Vocaloids. "Tokorodesu Nomi? (Where's Len?)" Asked Kaito. "Osoraku de za yokushitsu. (Probably in the bathrrom)" Said Meiko. "Hanasu no basurumu, watashi motte iru e shiyo 1. (Speaking of bathroms, I have to use one.)" Said Miku. "Sori, wareware nomi motte iru za 1. (Sorry, but we only have the one.)" Said Meiko. Miku rolled her eyes, got up and started doing this dance :www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3j9g-rUHcA (What? I don't know how to do acutal links yet!) "Nani za jigoku? (What the hell?)" Asked Rin. Miku came back, sat down on the couch and peed. "GUROSUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!! (Grossssssssssssssssss!)" Yelled Luka. "To Miku, anata suwa~tsu de watashi no supotto/zaseki! (And you sat in my spot/seat!)" Miku blushed and said "Sori. (Sorry.)

The next day Miku woke up next to Luka. "Hi...." Miku said. "I'm already dressed." Said Luka. "So?" Asked Miku. Then a girl with brown hair, red shirt, red skirt and black boots came in. "MIKU! LUKA! WHERE IS RIN AND LEN? AND WHY ARE YOU LATE FOR CLASS?" "Sorry, Ms. Sakine." Said Luka. "Sakine? Who is this?" Asked Miku. "This is Meiko Sakine, our band class teacher. Teto Kasane is our math teacher, and Gumi Megpoid is our principle." Replied Luka. "Teto? Ahhhh! She hates me!" Screamed Miku. "How do you know?" Asked Luka. "She's my neighbor, and said so herself." "OK. Miku, you can't go to math class." Said Luka. "WH-WH-WHAT?!?!?!?!? MISS SCHOOL? I CAN'T DO THAT!!!!!!!!" Yelled Miku. "You have to." Said Luka. "BUT--BUT--- I'LL HAVE TO SEE-SEE-SEE GUMI!" The girls looked where Meiko was standing and she wasn't there anymore. Luka forced Miku to stay by locking up the doors and Miku was right. She went to see. Gumi. Megpoid. Principle of Vocaloid high. "Miku, you skipped a class. Why?" Asked Gumi. "Well, I didn't wanna go to class's because when Meiko came into our dormitory Luka told me Teto was our math teacher and Teto lives next door to me and said she hated me." Said Miku....

Miku knew she was now old enough to go to High School so she asked her Mom if she could go and her Mom said "Yes, Hatsune, You can go to High School." Because Miku's Mom always called each Vocaloid by his or her last name. The next day Miku woke up in a bunk bed over a girl with long pink hair and brown pajamas. "You must be Miku!" The girl said. "I'm Luka Megurine, but please call me Luka." "Oh." Said Miku. "OK." Luka climbed out of bed and said "I'm gonna bring my backpack and put my clothes in it. Then go to the girl's locker room to get dressed. I'm gonna bring my backpack so I have the clothes. Wanna come with me and get dressed too?" "Sure...." Said Miku. She hopped off her bed and got her back pack and follewed Luka to the girl's locker room. They got dressed by a girl who was already dressed. "Hi." She said. She had blonde hair and had two white barretes in her hair. She wore a white shirt with a yellow tie over it. She wore jeans with a little clinging on string. She had like cuppy things on her arms and legs. "I'm Rin. This is Len, my twin." Said Rin. "Hi Riin. Hi Len." Said Miku. "This is Luka."

I made this story and new chapters are coming each day and I need ideas sooo.....
1.You can add action (Action is the main catagory of this story)
2.You cannot curse but you can only say hell.
3.Add romance in every bit.
4.Add adventure.
5.Every day I will post witch season it is in the story. Each season has 2 parts to it and has diffrent quests both days
6.Add comedy too
7.Have fun!
Vocaloids in this story:All from Alice Human Sacrifice and Luka Megurine.

After we all finish each season we will have aftermath with Miku and Kaito. So it's kind've like Total Drama Vocaloid.

Also, after we finish all of the seasons and quests we will have RP so you can particapate by putting in the comments witch Vocaloid you want to be and list all of your best quailties. The send me a link to a video of you showing the qualities you listed.

So you want to buy a vocaloid but don't know where to start? Well I'm hoping that by writing this I might be able to help some, there's a lot of confusion and options out there.

First, obviously figure out which vocaloid you want to buy. Remember to take into account how challenging they are to use (varies from vocaloid to vocaloid), any language barriers (If you don't know Japanese, don't buy a Japanese only vocaloid!) and what system requirements are needed to run the program (though this shouldn't be to much of an issue, check anyway). Also it might be worth it to look and see if there's going to be an updated version of the vocaloid coming out soon if your buying a V2/V1 vocaloid. It might be worth it to wait for the V3 to come out since vocaloids are rather expensive. Why not get the latest stuff? They are computer software when it comes to it, stuff gets outdated.

Second were to buy? This is were a lot of confusion comes in. THERE IS NO LEGAL WAY TO GET A VOCALOIDS FULL VOICEBANK LEGALLY FOR FREE. If you want a free voicebank, look into getting UTAU. While you can get vocaloids through e-bay and Amazon, I highly recommend buying from...

This is really long so grab some snacks! cause I do want everyone to read the whole thing before commenting.

I know a lot of people say they want to see a vocaloid anime. An anime about the actual vocaloid characters that is, I'm actually quite excited to see the Kaguro days anime (so I'm fine with animes based off of the vocaloid songs). I would like to say that first off what would this anime even be about? My best guess would either be
A. vocaloids are all in a (school?) band
B. Just a bunch of random short stories (Hatsune Mix)
Now in order to feature the actual vocaloid characters in story lines other than option B, your probably gonna have to give them legit personalities if you want to get past conversations of "My name is Miku. I like to sing and dance."

Crypton really doesn't give their voice banks very specific traits or personalities, they don't flat out say They like ______ They hate ____ people find them ____In their free time they ____ Their family is____. The company doesn't give them specific traits, and they don't like giving them specific traits because vocaloid belongs to the users and the audience. They want people...

This review is based on my personal opinion. It is in no way meant to offend anyone. You are free to agree or disagree with it.

Yuuma (or Yuma) is an official Vocaloid developed and distributed by Bplats, Inc. His voice provider is unrevealed. VY2 is an abbreviation for "Vocaloid Yamaha 2." His item is the Wakizashi and he is avatar-less, although many concepts have been thought up for him, especially the one in the picture.

His voice is amazing. It's not too deep, like Kaito's voice. It works with almost any song and is compatible with a lot of the other Vocaloids. I feel like he's under-appreciated sometimes but I think that's just because he's not as popular as the older Vocaloids that have been around longer.

Some songs that I think really showcase his amazing voice are link and link featuring VY1 Mizki.

The Vocaloid Software Pack
Vocaloid Software Information:

Shopping Spots
I have researched and found out about the Vocaloid Software. A Vocaloid Software where you can write your own lyrics and the Vocaloids will sing it in their own tune and voice. Most Vocaloid Software are purchased directly from their own respective companies/website. Amazon often offers you the software, but it is not easy route to pursue this. It is worthless to risk it from buying from auction sites. It is recommended that you first contact the company before getting it. You can purchase your own Vocaloid however, the Kagamine Twins Product 1 is no longer available due to the purchases. Kagamine Twins Product 2 is legal to the buyers.

Cost
I can't always be sure, but the average cost must $230 for a Vocaloid. The cost depends on the language of Vocaloids. The Japanese version costs more for the international shipping. Vocaloid 3 is the most important for the separate voice banks. Kagamine 2 is is cheaper and is the price $230. Japanese Vocaloids like Meiko Sakine cost somewhat between $200 to $300. However, English...

When it comes to companies viewing which of their Vocaloid products sale compared to others, that counts as popular to them. However, in an attempt to answer this question based on fandom reactions, it appears Hatsune Miku is the most known, with Kagamine Rin as highly favored with Kagamine Len afterward.

This is a listing of eight based on the fandom's familiarity with the following characters. An increase to make the listing a "Top 10" results in the ranking shifting between every Vocaloid currently released. This list can be viewed as outdated at any time due a Vocaloid's usage, songs, artwork, and fandom support for a month or year.
