When it comes to companies viewing which of their Vocaloid products sale compared to others, that counts as popular to them. However, in an attempt to answer this question based on fandom reactions, it appears Hatsune Miku is the most known, with Kagamine Rin as highly favored with Kagamine Len afterward.

This is a listing of eight based on the fandom's familiarity with the following characters. An increase to make the listing a "Top 10" results in the ranking shifting between every Vocaloid currently released. This list can be viewed as outdated at any time due a Vocaloid's usage, songs, artwork, and fandom support for a month or year.

One, two, three, four!

A message I've thought much too much about,
Maybe it'll reach somebody, who can say?
Certainly, I've always been this way,
A patched up, crazy matryoshka

A package sung by a headache
Time may pass, but the hands are at 4
Don't tell anyone;
The world will turn upside down

Ah, I feel broken apart
Throw out all your memories, too
Ah, how I want to know,
To the deep down...

Um, well...
If you please, dance more and more
Kalinka? Malinka?
Just play the chord
What should I do about such feelings?
Can't you tell me? Just a little?

Loud and clear, 524
Freud? Keloid?
Just hit the key
Everything, all's...

The Vocaloid Software Pack
The Vocaloid Software Pack
Vocaloid Software Information:

Shopping Spots
I have researched and found out about the Vocaloid Software. A Vocaloid Software where you can write your own lyrics and the Vocaloids will sing it in their own tune and voice. Most Vocaloid Software are purchased directly from their own respective companies/website. Amazon often offers you the software, but it is not easy route to pursue this. It is worthless to risk it from buying from auction sites. It is recommended that you first contact the company before getting it. You can purchase your own Vocaloid however, the Kagamine Twins Product...

I guess that is all that I know (I have not even listened to 25% of this list)!! Tell me if I missed out any Vocaloid ON MY WALL. Say its name and if its Vocaloid One, Two or Three.
So you want to buy a vocaloid but don't know where to start? Well I'm hoping that by writing this I might be able to help some, there's a lot of confusion and options out there.

First, obviously figure out which vocaloid you want to buy. Remember to take into account how challenging they are to use (varies from vocaloid to vocaloid), any language barriers (If you don't know Japanese, don't buy a Japanese only vocaloid!) and what system requirements are needed to run the program (though this shouldn't be to much of an issue, check anyway). Also it might be worth it to look and see if there's...

Some of these you may or may not already know, and I'm not going to include all the vocaloids, but hope you enjoy reading this anyway. I might add more to this as time goes on, but don't hold me to it >.>

Hatsune Miku: The first sound from the future

Kagami : Mirror (Mirror image, Rin and Len can be considered mirror images of each other, as said by the company)
ne:Sound
Rin: R for Right (like on Headphones)
Len: L for Left

Mergurine Luka: Sound that goes around (because she sings in both English and Japanese)

Prima: from the term "Prima Donna"

Sonika: Hindu name for "Golden" (she wears a yellow...

You know, Vocaloids are basically collections of notes that you can string together to produce music...but the mascot characters on the boxes have personas of their own.

Of course these aren't official, but this is just my perspective based on their vocal styles and what fans have made them out to be. Enjoy!

(NOTE: Some of these are kinda harsh, but it's just for comic relief, so lighten up ^.^)

Miku Hatsune: Cheerful, fun-loving and charismatic. She tries to avoid fights, but will never back down if dragged into one. Kinda childish and a drama queen, but has a good heart.

Rin Kagamine: Moody...

Vocaloid 01 Hatsune Miku:
Miku is mostly known for singing upbet pop music, although there are also several songs where the genre she sings in is rock. I would reccomend that anyone new to Vocaloid listens to Miku. She is the most fan-friendly Vocaloid there is, and no matter who you may be a fan of, you can't argue with that. Her voice is high pitched and young-sounding, as is fitting for her appearance and focused genre.
Miku is a 16 year old girl with long green pigtails, a red tattoo of "01" on her left arm, two floating pink hairbands, and a pair of bright green eyes. She wears a pair...

Furukawa Miki, Utatane Piko, Lily, and Kaai Yuki are all relatively new Vocaloids. Miki, with a cherry as her item, is themed as a futurisric popstar. Her huge cowlick acts as an antena, which is the same for Piko. Although easilly mistaken due to his feminen...

Project DIVA can be a little hard to play for beginners. Here is some of my tips and advice from experiance to anyone who has never tried it before but wants to start.

Now that Project DIVA F and Project DIVA F 2nd has english versions. I suggest that you make one of these your first try so you don't have to pay a large amount of money for an imported game from Japan.

There are other games in the series but you will have to import them. If you would like to do that instead of going to your local game store or to PSN to get an English version of PD F then I would recommend Amazon to buy an import....

Miku knew she was now old enough to go to High School so she asked her Mom if she could go and her Mom said "Yes, Hatsune, You can go to High School." Because Miku's Mom always called each Vocaloid by his or her last name. The next day Miku woke up in a bunk bed over a girl with long pink hair and brown pajamas. "You must be Miku!" The girl said. "I'm Luka Megurine, but please call me Luka." "Oh." Said Miku. "OK." Luka climbed out of bed and said "I'm gonna bring my backpack and put my clothes in it. Then go to the girl's locker room to get dressed. I'm gonna bring my backpack so I have the...

So I'm writing this hopefully to help people who are newer to the fandom and don't really know all of the vocabulary a person may drop when talking about vocaloids. I'm going to try and include as many words as I can and make the definitions as clear as possible, please comment if there's a word you'd like to see on this list or needs a better definition ^^.

Vocaloid1 (V1)- refers to the first group of vocaloids to be released, using early, now primitive V1 technology (basically they don't sound as clear/realistic as vocaloids from later series) includes vocaloids such as LEON, LOLA, Miriam,...

It is really sad to see that a lot of people hate Vocaloid so much. Vocaloid is great, right? Some people just dont apprieciate its beauty. Let me show you some examples:

1) Some people say that the Vocaloid music sucks. But they arent reffering to every song created in the Vocaloid program; they were referring to the ones that are solely related to the Character Vocal Series. In other words, Miku and the other Vocaloids such as Kagamine Rin & Len, Megurine Luka, Megpoid Gumi, etc. You know, songs like Just Be Friends and Magnet.
They say that the English Translated Lyrics are pure crap....
