You question leads all of us to believe you think Twilight started all things vampire and you actually need to search for something more. That is so far removed from being any where near reality.
You've recieved some excellent answers and suggestions so far. Your question, as already pointed out, is not specific to books, TV, movies or ALL series.
Believe it of not, although not a series, the first vamp movie dates back to 1909’s ‘Vampire of the Coast’ and it is the first accredited vampire movie followed shortly after with 1910’s ‘The Vampire Trail.’

The first television vampire series that I became aware of was Dark Shadows. Gotta love Barnabus. XD
Then there were so many tv vamp series that followed: Buffy the vampire slayer, Moonlight (love that show!), Forever Knight, Blood Ties, Vampire Diaries, True Blood, Angel, The Gates, Being Human, Dracula: The Series, Kindred: The Embraced. Heck even Sesame Street (which is a series) had the Count. XD
Vamps made appearences in these series: Charmed, Smallville, Supernatural and The Wizards of Waverly Place just to name a few.
As far as books, you've again, already received some GREAT recommendations. Anne Rice's The Vampire Chronicles is the most popular vampire book series of all time. The Anita Blake series rocks! The House of Night series is cute and Zoey is just awesome. These are NOT Twilght books and some contain some incredibly mature content. That's part of what makes them so good! XD
From one vampire enthusiast to another, I hope you find a great new (old) series to sink your teeth into.
