Vampires Question

I need a little help please

I writing this vampire story originally it was going to be about the character getting use to becoming a vampire, dealing with losing his wife(basically like a coming of age story) but now as I write it-it seems like it is missing something(maybe action or drama or something) I don't know what I should put.



PLEASE I NEED SOME IDEAS...

P.S Character has wife, maker had a wife but the wife is dead :( (old age cause human B-day 4 them way sometime in 1800's[i haven't made a date yet]and currently this takes place present day.
