I remember visiting this website once...
It was called The Best New Teen Movies 2015
Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
Teenagers can be their own category when it comes to life as they are going through a “certain period” where the world as they know it is changing.
Whether you are a teenager or have a teenager, movies are always a great way to let off steam and a chance to forget the changes going on.
Going to the cinema to meet up with friends to watch the latest and coolest movies that are suitable for teenagers in 2015 is still cool! No matter how old you get there will always be ways to escape into another world, or another persons life for a short period of time. And then you can talk about how awesome it was and how you wish that part you loved would happen to you!
So to make sure you don’t drag your friends to a really lame movie, and then get blamed and told, “you suck” then you should check out the top 10 movies that are likely to be hits with teens in 2015.
And don’t worry there’s lots to choose from varying from 2015 Superhero movies, new animated movies, funny movies, chick flicks, sci-fi films, films suitable for the whole family and action movies.
These have been listed in order of cinema date, so you don’t miss them and can even pick something that will be suitable for your whole group or even a birthday that you decide to celebrate by going to the movies. And we even tell you if the upcoming movie is more suitable for teenage girls or teen boys.
Mike Myers had a cult following with his Austin Powers movies and I think Lionsgate are trying to do something very similar with Mortdecai.
This movie stars Johnnie Depp, bringing his usual quirk, with a lot of silly humor, very similar to the style of Austin Powers. Except this time, the main character isn’t a silly spy, instead he’s an accident prone Art dealer and even comes with a man servant. And of course, he’s British!
It’s very Bond meets Dumb and Dumber. I think it will be exactly the kind of non serious, teenage humor that teenage boys and supposedly grown up men will enjoy most.
And with a great supporting cast including Gwyneth Paltrow, Ewan McGregor and Jeff Goldblum, it’s going to make a decent splash at the box office.
If you want to get to know more about the story behind this movie, then you can read the Mortdecai books written by Kyril Bongfiglioli.
Or, you can see what’s coming by watching the Mordecai trailer. It’s sure to be a barrel of laughs!
If you are looking for a movie that features a whole bunch of teenagers and is really funny, and with a lot of action, then you’ll love the upcoming Project Almanac movie.
It’s a bit like what would have happened if the Doctor in Back to the Future hadn’t stopped Marty McFly from taking the Almanac back to his time and benefiting from it. Except in this case, it’s a bunch of teenagers who gain the ability to go back in time and right their own personal wrongs, or improve different parts of their past lives therefore improving their current lives.
In this case, the changes the kids make are great in the beginning. Their lives are improved and they have everything they could ever have asked for or imagine. Unfortunately, their actions have changed things beyond their circle and events around the world lead these teenagers to realize that what they are toying with could have dire consequences.
But what price will they be willing to pay to fix their mistakes?
Starring Jonny Weston, Sofia Black D’Elia and Amy Landecker.
You can watch the Project Almanac trailer now and see why I think this movie will be perfect for teens in 2015!
With Divergent making over $280 million at the box office last year, it was fairly obvious that Lionsgate and Summit would continue the franchise and adapt the other books into movies. Although it wasn’t as big a hit as The Hunger Games movie franchise is…
However, this movie, set in a dystopian future, was adapted from a young adult novel and is supposed to appeal to teens the world over; since it’s all about finding your place in the world. And I think many fans of the books did go and see the movie.
The Insurgent trailer that’s already been released looks really cool, and you can see this is the scene that’s also shown on the poster on the right.
I think the second movie in the series, called Insurgent, could be better than Divergent. The first movie was all about setting it up for what was to come. Sure there was some action, but now that we know who the main characters are and we know what the struggle is between the different Factions, I think the story can move faster from here.
And if the trailer is a sign of things to come then I am looking forward to the next installment in this story and I think a lot of young adults will be too!
You can also look forward to the return of the cast including Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Kate Winslet and Maggi Q.
Almost everyone can get behind a good Superhero movie, and the Avengers: Age of Ultron has just about everyone thrown in there! There’s going to be at least one character you can rally behind and cheer them on as they fight the latest evil to attack Earth.
And this will be a popular movie in 2015. Afterall, the Avengers movie did over $1.5 billion at the box office in 2012 and fans are dying to see what happens next. Marvel knows how to throw a party and we’re all invited!
It also looks like Tony Stark will get the blame for this threat yet again as it seems he’s allowed an old evil (Ultron) to escape through the creation of more suits and armor.
You can meet Ultron in the trailer and hear James Spader who’s voice is really quite spooky.
How will the team defeat this threat? Who’s skills will be most useful? There a lot to choose from including Thor, Iron Man, Hawkeye, the Hulk, Captain America and the Black Widow.
So a lot of your favorite actors will also be appearing on the big screen again including Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr, Samuel L Jackson and Mark Ruffalo.
So if you were looking for a movie that was perfect for teen girls in 2015, then Pitch Perfect 2 is your safe bet! this is probably going to be the most popular chick flick movie of the summer. And it’s going to be perfect for slumber parties and girly nights in once it’s out on DVD too!
If you haven’t seen Pitch Perfect, then don’t worry as it’s very similar to Step Up but about singing rather than dance. Although many of the characters from the first movie are returning including Anna Kendrick and Brittany Snow, it’s not vital that you know the story from before. However, if you’ve already seen the first movie, then great!
This time around, this college acapella singing group have decided to try and compete in an international competition that no American group has ever won. They’ll have to face off against the world’s best beat masters and talented singers. How ghetto will these American Sweethearts be willing to go to win?
Expect a lot of laughs like the first time round too!
Wondering if you’ll like the songs in the second Pitch Perfect as much as you liked the first movie tunes? Then get a little sound bite of what’s coming up by watching the Pitch Perfect 2 trailer.
So what’s the first rule when you run a Dinosaur theme park? Well it should be no experiments! When will these scientists ever learn??
So Jurassic World is set ten years after the actual opening of the Park. Yes, they somehow managed to iron out all the kinks and have successfully been hosting the general public and have been introducing them to prehistoric creatures in a safe and controlled environment. Pretty amazing, right!
Except, there’s one small kink… The Park is losing it’s appeal. Paying visitors are dwindling and it’s no longer the latest thing to go and see. So to bring people back, they decide to create a new attraction in the form of a genetically modified dinosaur.
Now no-one is safe and this monster is really hungry! So they call in Chris Pratt (Star Lord from Guardians of the Galaxy) to round up this beast.
Not scared of dinosaurs anymore? Well think again because the new dinosaur created for this part of the franchise seems really scary. Get your first glance of it in the trailer.
Just like the Insurgent movie discussed above, this is another movie based on a popular young adult novel set in another dystopian world. And Scorch Trials is the second movie in the franchise too! Although this movie did better than Divergent with over $330 million at the box office world wide.
Now that Thomas and the remaining survivors of the maze are out, what will happen next? Although they think they are free, even though we the audience know they are not really free, what will happen next? Why are they being toyed with? Who is controlling the game and why? What’s the end game?
It does seem like it’s all to provide some kind of solution in a desolate world…
Although I haven’t read the books, I did find the first movie intriguing and I enjoyed watching it. It left me with a number of unanswered questions and I think I’ll make the time to read the book series.
For those that have already read the books, I have read that the movie closely followed the story laid down by the author, so can guess that the next film will do the same and bring the tale to life once again. No doubt fans will want to continue to see these movies and see how the story comes to it’s conclusion in the remainder of the trilogy.
We can look forward to the return of Dylan O’Brien, Ki Hong Lee and Patricia Clarkson. Also, keep an eye out for Giancarlo Esposito (Gustav Fring who owned the chicken franchise in Breaking Bad).
The conclusion of The Hunger Games will finally hit cinema’s late 2015!
This is likely to be one of the most popular movies of the year, as we finally get to see how they will end the movie, and how closely it will tie in with what happened in the books!
Mockingjay Part 2 will likely focus on the Capitol in the aim of getting rid of Snow and saving Peeta. The first part concentrated mainly on the politics and the setting of the scene and preparing us for what was to come. I envision a lot of action, explosions and Katniss gearing up to take the fight to the center of their world.
There have been complaints that making this trilogy into four movies was a bad idea, I think most of the fans that have stuck with it so far will continue to do so and will want to see the finale.
I think this will continue to be a big hit, especially with Teenagers and has continued to be successful by not appealing to only one gender, but has continued to be popular with both gals and guys.
Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens
Which movie will be the biggest draw of 2015? Well I think it could very well be this movie – Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. I think the Avengers: Age of Ultron will have some serious competition on it’s hands, but that’s okay because they are being released at completely different times of the year, so won’t really be in direct competition with one another. Phew!
Although this movie is likely to be more popular with teen boys (think lightsabres, sci-fi and skimpy outfits for the girls) there are some gals out there that are into space ships, science fiction and have also grown up with Dad’s that will be raving about this movie months before it airs at the end of 2015.
Looks like this movie will feature some of the classic characters we know and love including Carrie Fisher as Leia, Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker and Harrison Ford as Han Solo. It will probably also feature a new younger cast in the form of children belonging to Leia and Han as the next generation of Jedi.
Although the teaser trailer has been released, it doesn’t really show much. However, this film will probably be like a magnet even in the cold weather.
So Po is returning at the end of 2015 in the third movie in the franchise and considering he’s already made over $1.2 billion at the box office worldwide, who knows how many movies they’ll release.
Although the news on this movie is still in the early stages, we do believe that we will meet Po’s father in Kung Fu Panda 3. We found out near the end of Kung Fu Panda 2 that he might be alive… and we now know he will be voiced by Bryan Cranston (Walter White in Breaking Bad).
This movie has universal appeal but it’s also perfect to go see with friends as it’s funny and cool.
Expect to see the Famous Five back as well as some of the other characters we’ve come to know and loved voiced by Jack Black, Lucy Lui, Angelina Jolie, Dustin Hoffman and Seth Rogen.
Tomorrowland – Starring Britt Robertson and George Cluny in a sci-fi, fantasy film.
I think this could prove popular with teens as it’s about a teenager that finds her way into another world where people fly around like Iron Man in a beautiful city that you’d only find within the pages of a book.
Although we’ll have to wait until May the 22nd, 2015 to see this I think it will be worth the wait. I think the trailer will give you a better idea of why this is likely to be a popular choice next year.
Fantastic Four – Check out the 2015 reboot and this time round, the team seem a lot younger in this upcoming version of the Fantastic Four movie. Starring Kate Mara, Miles Teller and Jamie Bell. And will be in cinema’s from August 7th, 2015.
Which of these movies are you dying to see? Or is there a film in particular you think you and you’re friends will be lining up to see that we missed from the list?
