We are on chapter 4 of our countdown that means 21 more days until the release of New Moon. Join us by reading a chapter a day together. So in order to help pass the time while we wait for New Moon to be released, I will continue to post a thread everyday for each chapter in the book, counting down the days until the official release of the film on November 20th.
Chapter 4: Waking Up
“Forbidden to remember, terrified to forget”
But not really. Bella is never truly awake, she continues to be in the same lifeless downward spiral and who can blame her? Her very core of existance has abandoned her. “It will be as if I never exisited.” *Shudders the thought*
Key points in this chapter for me were:
I love how Jessica treated Bella after the whole “man on the street” incident, did Bella really think Jessica would buy that line that she may have known that guy?
And out of all the characters Jessica annoyed me the most, but she really saved this chapter for me. To me she really was a stand up gal for even putting up with someone who basically ignored her for months.
Then there’s the bedroom scene. Bella returns home from the movie with Jessica, runs up to her room and Stephenie Meyer does an excellent job of illustrating the pain & sorrow Bella is feeling, through words. “I lay in my bed a few minutes later, resigned as the pain finally made its appearance. It was a crippling thing, this sensation that a huge hole had been punched through my chest, excising my most vital organs and leaving ragged unhealed gashes around the edges that continued to throb and bleed despite the passage of time. And yet I found I could survive. I was alert, I felt the pain-the aching loss that radiated out from my chest, sending wracking waves of hurt through my limbs and head-but it was manageable. I could live through it. Whatever it was that had happened tonight-and whether it was zombies, the adrenaline, or the hallucinations that were responsible- it had woken me up.”
What gets me the most is that it’s like a couple hundred of pages before we even see the name Edward in print. This book makes me an emotional mess, but I warned you all, I will not be bubbly during New Moon, well not until Chapter 17 at least…
I truly look forward to reading your comments on this depressing chapter.
JUST 21 more days and 20 chapters to go till NEW MOON!!!!!!!! :)

-Alice-
Edward and I were playing chess, hilariously fun, when I saw an image that did not involve chess pieces. I stiffened; then relaxed. So they liked Isle Renesmee. Good. It WAS my idea, after all.
And suddenly, I saw something that did not make me smile. I sighed and flicked my king over. It wasn't worth it.

Edward was the only one who would play chess with me anymore, mainly because it was fair.
I was a little depressed that there wasn't any wedding to be planned, and I didn't have any new project planned. Then, it hit me. RENESMEE'S CLOSET! Well, I'd already stocked her new house's (Esme had given them their own house, she'd designed it and everything) mega-sized walk in closet and helped furnish the house, but I could always remodel her closet to look like a boutique!
I smiled in anticipation. I had to go call Esme!
