Bio: Born Janis Rae Vanwyngarden, Janis never was a kid to fit in at school. She never seemed to care what people said about her. Dealing with her parents divorce nearly killed her. But, then while staying with her father, she was introduced to her newfound love, the 60's. Her father had been to Vietnam with Jimi Hendrix, and that facinated Janis. Her father told her that she was named after his childhood friend, Janis Joplin. Janis took on Janis Joplin's style of clothing and began turning from the hate and 'emo' garb, she was transformed into the flower child of her school. Though she was teased, she remains herself, Janis. She also has a brother, Andrew Vanwyngarden of MGMT.

She's from a small town in PA and she got the name "fawn" since her parents were both hippies. She didn't follow in her parents foot steps about being hippies but she did go on to loving and trying to take care of as many animals as she could.
