Although they could've been vegan marshmallows, those are hard to find. And sense Chris supplied them, he probably wouldn't have went out of way to find them.

I guess one could argue that they were tomato slices or something. They usually don't make the food all that detailed in Total Drama any way. I'm going to have to to back and watch that episode.
There are more than one of these mess ups in the series, like in season one Harold claims he's violently Allergic to apples, but he gladly accepts the grease that Duncan tells him is apple juice. I guess Harold could have been lying to get out of doing the challenge :/
