Mily: It was the summer of 2013, and I just arrived on the island. I was nervous, because I spent all my time in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania. Lived there for five years.
Zoe: So if you were born in Jim Thorpe, and spent five years there, that must mean you were born in 2008.
Mily: Yeah. Now, where was I?

Juliette: *Next to them* Forgive me you four, but I can't understand why you're listening to that out of date junk.
Audience: *Laughing*
Leon: It is not out of date.
Stan: Not to us at least.
Sebastian: We think that it's very good music.
Xavier: And so should you. Your opinion is lame.
Audience: *Laughing*
Juliette: Your opinion about my opinion is lame.
Audience: *Laughing*
Leon: Keep in mind that there are more of us than there are of you.
Stan: We outnumber you.
Sebastian: Watch what you say to us about what we like.

Mily: *Coming into Impala Station*
Juliette: *Annoyed* Oh great, the new engine.
Narrator: When I first arrived, I was shy, thinking no one would want to deal with me since I was new, and I was also nervous, of asking for help, and pulling heavy trains.
Mily: *Stops next to Juliette*
Juliette: What do you want new engine?
Mily: Can you tell me where Ms. Scarlett is?
Juliette: At the sheds in Hunterdon, now leave me alone.
Mily: *Puffs away*

Narrator: When I got to Hunterdon, I met Ms. Scarlett at the sheds.
Ms. Scarlett: Mily, so good to see you.
Mily: Thank you.
Ms. Scarlett: There are six roundhouses in Hunterdon, which means there are plenty of sheds. We also have three more in Eastwood. First, I would like you to pull a passenger train from the station in this town, to Ballantine Station. Stop at every other station along the way.
Mily: How many coaches would you like me to collect?
Ms. Scarlett: Seven coaches are already waiting for you at the station.
Mily: Okay. Thanks. *Goes to get her train*
Narrator: At the station, I waited for my passengers. It was there, I met my friend Jazlin for the very first time.
Jazlin: *Stops next to Mily at a red signal* Hey, you look almost like me. Same color, same wheel arrangement. I bet you're as cheerful as I am.
Mily: *Smiling* Hi.
Jazlin: What's your name?
Mily: Mily. You are?
Jazlin: Jazlin. It's so nice to meet you. I hope we can be best friends. *Sees her signal go green* Time for me to go.
Narrator: It would be time for me to go soon. As I waited, I looked at the beautiful scenery surrounding me.
Birds: *Tweeting as they fly over the station*
Bees: *Buzzing around flowers*
Conductor: All aboard.
Mily: *Blows her whistle twice, and tries to pull her train*
Mily: *Slipping as she tries to pull her train. It doesn't budge, and she tries again, but her wheels keep slipping. Her wheels slip on her third attempt, and her 4th, but she finally gets the train going, slowly* That was tough.
Narrator: My first day, and already I was struggling. Once I stopped at Mossberg Station, I met Marisa.
Marisa: *Stops next to Mily* Hey, you're the new engine Juliette told me about.
Mily: Oh yeah? What did she say?
Marisa: She just said who you were. That train you're pulling looks heavy. I can help if you want me too.
Mily: *Sweating, and looking away* Uh, no thanks. I got it.
Marisa: Some other time then. *Puffs away*

Mily: *Departing Mossberg Station*
Narrator: If I wasn't nervous, and knew about the hill ahead of me, I would have accepted Marisa's help. Unfortunately, I didn't know any better.
Mily: *Going 100 miles an hour, and sees the hill in front of her. She closes her eyes, takes a deep breath, and opens her eyes again* Here I go.
Jazlin: *Stopping at Mossberg Station, and sees Mily in front of her* It looks like she's struggling. I better help her. *Leaves her train at the station, and goes towards Mily*

Mily: *Slowing down* Almost there. *Slipping, and as she gets towards the top, her train starts to drag her towards the bottom* Oh come on! I'm so close! *Brakes*
Jazlin: *Blows her whistle twice as she couples up to Mily's train*
Mily: Who's there?
Jazlin: Jazlin. I'm going to help you get your train over this hill.
Mily: Okay. *Sweating* I hope no one sees this. *Pulls her train*
Jazlin: *Pushes the train*
Narrator: Once we got over the hill, Jazlin talked to me at Angler Station.
Jazlin: Didn't anyone offer to help you?
Mily: Marisa did, but I told her not to.
Jazlin: What for?
Mily: I was worried someone would make fun of me. I'm new here, and I'm also shy.
Jazlin: There's no need to be shy, or worried. The only engine that's dislike-able on this line is Juliette.
Audience: *Quietly laughing*
Mily: Why her?
Jazlin: It's just the way she is, but if she gives you any trouble, Ms. Scarlett can take care of her for you. As for me, and everyone else on this railway, we're very polite, and if you need help with anything, we'll gladly help you.
Mily: Thanks Jazlin.
Narrator: From that moment on, I learned an important lesson.
