Welcome to a place called The Island Of Errol. A place that is run by five railroads. It has hundreds of engines, and lots of trains in the four towns, Mossberg, Hunterdon, Zorrin, and Eastwood.

Episode 36: Mily & The Circus Train

Narrator: Ballantine Station was crowded. Ms. Scarlett needed her engines to work their hardest getting passengers in, and out of the station.

Stop the song

Mily: *Coupled up to eleven coaches at Ballantine Station*
Conductor: *Walks up to Mily* We're getting lots of passengers on this train. You think you can manage?
Mily: I'll try.
Narrator: Mily wasn't as strong as any of the other engines, but she was always willing to try her best. However, she was feeling nervous.
Conductor: All abooooooooooooooooooooooo-

7 seconds later

Audience: *Laughing*
Conductor: -oooooooord!
Mily: *Blows her whistle, and rings her bell* Why would the conductor do that? We're gonna be late now.
Audience: *Laughing*
Mily: *Pulls her train out of the station*
Narrator: Mily had to stop at Porsche Station. Between Ballantine, and Porsche, there's a very sharp turn that goes to the mainline. Sometimes, sharp turns can also lead to obstacles for engines pulling heavy loads to get the grip they need from their drive wheels.
Mily: *Going 30 miles an hour just before she reaches the curve* I can't go too fast, otherwise I'll derail. *Gets on the curve, and starts to slip* I'm slowing down. *Pulls her hardest, but the turn is too sharp, and her wheels keep slipping. She gets stuck on the bend, and pulls her hardest* Come on! I can do this!
Narrator: Then the unfortunate happened.

Mily: *Breaks down, and blows a lot of steam* Oh no.
Conductor: *Runs out of the train* What happened?
Mily: I broke down.
Conductor: Your face is so red. You must have had a really hard time with this curve.
Mily: I did.
Juliette: *Passing by with her train* Haha! You broke down on the curve!
Mily: At least I didn't get stuck on a hill!
Audience: *Laughing*
Mily: *Calms down* I don't usually get angry. It only happens when someone makes fun of me.
Conductor: I know. I'll call some workmen, and they'll find another engine to take over for your train, and get you to the repairs.
Narrator: Holly took Mily to the repairs while Marisa took control of the train.

At the repairs, Mily saw Kinsey, and Hayley

Mily: *Concerned* What happened to you two?
Kinsey: An accident at the yards. My brakes stopped working, and I accidentally hit Hayley.
Hayley: Actually, I think it was me that hit you.
Kinsey: *Gets angry* Who's telling the story here?
Audience: *Laughing*
Hayley: You were the one that blacked out just before the collision!
Mily: Hey, take it easy! It was just an accident, right?
Kinsey: Right.
Hayley: You're right.
Mily: So there's no need to fight about it.
Narrator: Mily spent three days in the repairs. During that, things we're not going well on the Eastern Pacific. There were lots of ships coming into Mossberg Harbor with freight, and a circus was getting prepared to go from Impala Station to Nova station.
Mily: *Gets out of the repairs, and takes a deep breathe* It feels great to be back.

Mily: Hi Ms. Scarlett. What can I do for you?
Ms. Scarlett: I just received a call from Mr. Baldwin. He says he needs help with a circus train going from Impala to Nova.
Mily: A circus train? Those are very heavy. Are you sure he needs me to pull it?
Ms. Scarlett: Everyone else is busy. I believe in you Mily. You can do this.
Mily: *Nervous* I don't know. I broke down last time I pulled a heavy train.
Ms. Scarlett: Don't be so nervous. Remember Tillie's advice?
Mily: *Smiles* I think I can.
Ms. Scarlett: That's a good girl. Now get going.
Mily: I won't let you down ma'am. *Goes to Impala Station*

Narrator: As Mily got coupled up to the circus train she got refueled for the journey. Workmen oiled her joints so she could run smoothly. Meanwhile, the workers for the circus were getting things prepared.
Kangaroos: *Watching the door on their car get closed*
Zebras: *Getting on board a freight car with two camels*
Circus workers: *Close the door on the car*
Zebras & Camels: *Stick their head out of the car, and enjoy the cool breeze*
Narrator: Can we hurry this up? We're on a tight budget.
Audience: *Laughing*

Stop the song.

Narrator: Everything, and everyone was ready. The ring master climbed onto the caboose, and said.
Ring Master: All aboard! All aboard!
Mily: All aboard, let's go. *Blows her whistle, then tries to pull the train. Her wheels slip half way then stop. The same thing happens on her second attempt to pull the train. On her third attempt, her wheels slip fast, but she slowly pulls out of the station* This is tough, but I can do it. *Her wheels stop slipping, and her speed increases*
Narrator: Things were easy for her now. Mily was having a great time pulling the circus train.
People: *Waving to Mily*
Mily: *Smiles cheerfully as she blows her whistle twice*
Narrator: When she passed through Weaver Station, she saw Ian pulling a train out of the station on the track parallel to her's. They were side, by side.
Ian: Hello Mily. I see you got the circus train
Mily: Yep. To tell you the truth, I was nervous about it. I had a difficult time pulling out of the station, but things seem to be okay now.
Ian: I'm glad to hear that. Keep up the good work.
Mily: Thank you Ian.
Ian: *Sees a red signal in front of him* I better slow down. See you later. *Slows down*
Mily: *Continues on with her train*
Narrator: 90 minutes later, Mily had to go up a hill between Nova, and Delta station. It was very steep, but it didn't go high up.

Mily: *Goes up the hill. Her wheels slip, but she pulls her hardest going 11 miles an hour* I think I can. I think I can. I think I can. I think I can. I think I can. I think I can. I think I can. I think I can. *Her wheels slip faster as she gets closer to the top of the hill, and she talks slower* I think I can. I think I can. *Her wheels slip even faster, and she talks more slowly as she sweats* I think I can. *Her wheels stop slipping as she reaches the top of the hill* Phew, I made it. *Goes down the hill*
Narrator: Mily was relieved. She never thought she would make it up the hill.
Mily: *Stops at Nova Station, and takes several deep breaths* Boy am I tired.
Circus People: *Getting out of the train* Thanks Mily. You helped us a lot.
Mily: Thank you everyone.
Narrator: Mr. Baldwin appeared with Ms. Scarlett, and yours truly. Okay, my name isn't yours truly, it's Sean Bodine, but I thought it sounded cool. I guess not.
Audience: *Laughing*
Mr. Baldwin: Mily, I'm very thankful for what you've done.
Ms. Scarlett: And I'm very proud of you.
S.B: I was watching you, and I told Mr. Baldwin what was going on. I like how you never quit, no matter how hard your job is.
Mily: Thanks you three.
Mr. Baldwin: As a reward for your diligence, you-
Mily: *Too tired from pulling the circus train, and falls asleep*
Audience: *Laughing*
S.B: Uh, Mily? Wake up.
Ms. Scarlett: Let her sleep. She deserves it.
Mr. Baldwin: No doubt about it. You're very lucky to have her on your railway.
