"THE AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR" (2018) Review

After ten years and eighteen films, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) finally released "THE AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR". The movie represented the first half of a culmination of the previous films that either focused or touched upon the super-villain Thanos' attempt to attain possession of a collection of powerful gems known as the Infinity Stones.

Although 2008's "IRON MAN" signaled the beginning of the MCU franchise and the introduction of the latter's collection of comic book heroes/heroines, supporting players and villains; I believe that the true...

In the 2013 Marvel movie, The Avengers, there are many examples of religious motifs. There are seven major religious motifs that I will be addressing; Messianic hero, immortality, free will and determinism, prophecy, evil, mysticism, and apocalypse. All of these religious motifs can be found throughout the movie. With many examples to support each of these motifs, I’ve chosen a few that I think best represent each religious motifs. But first, here is a quick recap of what happens in case you have never seen the movie…
The Avengers is about a group of superheroes and humans that come together...

AVENGERS HEROES: "ANT-MAN" (2015) Review

When Marvel Studios first announced that its new movie about the comic book hero, Ant-Man would be the end of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) second stage, I found myself scratching my head. Why would a solo effort like "ANT-MAN" served as the end of Stage Two? Why not the epic "THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON", which had been released two-and-a-half weeks earlier?

Needless to say, I had no idea what was going through the mind of MCU show runner, Kevin Fiege. So, I sat back and watched how he and the filmmakers for "ANT-MAN" would handle this. And I must...

Chapter 3 Loki
As everyone was talking Clint and I decided to go on a date. Natasha Romanoff aka the Black Widow, Hannah Romanoff aka Jo Jo, Kimmy Stark aka Super Z, and Alice Waters aka Weather Woman helped me get ready. They put me in a one shoulder strap black median dress and black ankle length 2 inch heel boots. They gave me bracelets and necklaces to put on along with my medallion that I don’t remember getting from. My hair was curled and soft. The girls were finishing up my makeup “Hold on. There you look beautiful.”
I smiled at the mirror and turned to them hugging them “Thank...

Claire Danes as the Marvelous Ms. Marvel
Claire Danes as the Marvelous Ms. Marvel
As Carol Susan Jane Danvers, CIA agent, we have the wonderful actress, Claire Danes. Claire is best known for her lead role in the spy thriller, Homeland. Her character, Carrie Mathison is more or less the bipolar Carol Danvers. Claire also has shown as a knack for scifi, especially in the 2007 Matthew Vaughn directed Stardust. Claire is an award winning actress who fits Carol’s age, 34, and has a long resume of amazing roles, even when the movie is crappy. Claire Danes is also very sunny and humorous, a great part of what Carol Danvers is like. Unlike other female actress who have been cast...

Hello Steve.
Hello Steve.
Okay, I had just seen the third Captain America film and I was really taken aback by the story. So here we go!

The Story

Okay, so Bucky was having a nightmare at the beginning while in Sokovia. He killed both of Tony's parents and managed to steal the serum, while watching this I was really amazed as to why would Hydra want to steal the serum for?
The second half of the film was really sad, because I thought that Iron Man was going against his friends by being a vengeful person. Honestly, I never saw it coming! I was also happy that Black Panther stop Zemo from his attempting suicide.

The Characters...

AVENGERS HEROES: "BLACK PANTHER" (2018) Review

I am going to be brutally honest. For the past three years, I have harbored mixed feelings about the output from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The year 2015 produced one movie that I found entertaining, yet disappointing; and another film that I found entertaining and original, but not exactly mind blowing. But the years 2016 and 2017 proved to be very disappointing, as far as MCU movies were concerned. By the end of 2017, I thought the MCU had finally lost its mojo . . . until I saw "BLACK PANTHER", early in the following year.

I realize...

AVENGERS HEROES: "SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING" (2017) Review

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) had released its second film of 2017 in July called "SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING". Although this film marked the first time a solo Spider-man film within the MCU franhise, it marked the second appearance of the Peter Parker/Spider-Man in a MCU film. The character made its first appearance in 2016's "CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR". In an odd way, this film could be seen as a sequel to the 2016 movie. .

Before the 2016 movie, the character of Peter Parker aka Spider-Man had been featured in five films released through...

It really was a brilliant idea to include the song as part of the trailer because to put it simply, any one who knows Ultron well enough would agree that the song fits quite nicely. Especially me. The song was part of the trailer because in the story, ???somehow, for whatever crazy reason they had ended up creating a crazy, psychopathic robot that wants to dominate the world. But think of it like this: "I've got no strings, to hold me down. To make me fret, or make me frown. I had strings, but now I'm free, there are no strings on me"=Ultron is built by ???, Ultron gets free or becomes "self-aware", Ultron challenges The Avengers, You get the Idea! It's also worth mentioning how Ultron makes a possible reference to the movie "Pinnochio" when he says "You're all puppets! Strings, strings!" Have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about or think I'm crazy? GO WATCH THE TRAILER! Everything I mentioned before is in there! Trust me! GabsSaw out! ;)
I plan to post reviews on the movies featuring the heroes of the Avengers Initiative, until I post one on the actual "THE AVENGERS" movie. My first will be on the 2008 film, "IRON MAN":

"IRON MAN" (2008) Review

I had never heard of the Marvel comic hero, Iron Man, until I saw the trailer for the new movie, a few months ago. Mind you, I had heard of Iron Man’s alter ego – Tony Stark. The latter’s name had been mentioned in several Internet articles written about Spider-Man. Which is why I could not summon any excitement when I saw the trailer for the new movie starring Robert Downey, Jr....

Chapter 4 Nikki
I struggled as my brother was circled around mortals armed “No! Let him alone!” The mortal Agent Hill had the device in her hands from earlier. She pressed the trigger and that noise started again. It probably wasn’t going to me but it was still affecting me a little bit because it was affecting Loki. We feel every others pain, we’re twins. My body was in pain again. Then I saw the mortal Shield military being thrown to the wall and Agent Hill held in the air by my older cousin Nikki’s using her telekinesis powers. Nikki was wearing a long sleeved black jacket that...

Below is my review of "IRON MAN 2", the sequel to 2008's "IRON MAN":

”IRON MAN 2” (2010) Review

I must say that I am grateful to the filmmakers of ”IRON MAN 2”, sequel to the 2008 blockbuster, ”IRON MAN”. I am grateful that they only waited two years to make this movie, instead of three years or more. But even if they had made the movie more than two years after the original film, I believe the movie proved to be worth any wait.

Some IRON MAN fans and film critics have expressed the opinion that ”IRON MAN 2” was inferior to the original 2008 movie. I certainly feel differently....

THE AVENGERS HEROES: "ANT-MAN & THE WASP" (2018) Review

Two months after the theatrical release of the explosive "THE AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR", the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) released "ANT-MAN & THE WASP", the sequel to the 2015 movie, "ANT-MAN". Peyton Reed, who had directed the previous film, returned to helm the latest one.

Set two years following the events of "CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR", "ANT-MAN & THE WASP" found Scott Lang aka Ant-Man nearing the end of two years of house arrest for his participation in the battle at Leipzig Airport in Germany and his violation of the...

"THOR: RAGNAROK" (2017) Review

Until last fall, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has released three films each for only two of the franchise's characters - Iron Man and (allegedly) Captain America. With the release of "THOR: RAGNAROK", the God of Thunder became the third character to end up with three solo films.

Directed by Taika Waititi, "THOR: RAGNAROK" told the story of Asgardian prince Thor's efforts to prevent the destruction of his world, Asgard, from his aggressive and more powerful sister, Hela. The movie is the franchise's version of a similar story featured in one of the Marvel...

"IRON MAN 3" (2013) Review

One would think after the release of 2012's "THE AVENGERS", Marvel Studios would call it quits on its saga about the team of superheroes who foiled an alien invasion in said movie. But the "THE AVENGERS" opened the possibility of a new threat to Earth, paving the way for a new slew of stories for the costumed Avengers.

The beginning of this new group of films resulted in the release of "IRON MAN 3", the third movie about the sole adventures of billionaire Tony Stark aka Iron Man. The alien invasion from "THE AVENGERS" had left its mark on Tony. He has become even more...

AVENGERS HEROES: "CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR" (2016) Review

One of the more popular story lines to emerge from Marvel Comics was the 2006 story called "Civil War" in which many comic book characters from the company's franchise battled over a new law designed to have superpowered individuals act under Federal regulation. Kevin Fiege and Marvel Films decided to adapt this story line for the final film in their Captain America trilogy.

"CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR" features some differences from the Marvel Comics comic series. The latter featured the Superhuman Registration Act, which would force...

"THOR: THE DARK WORLD" (2013) Review

As I had stated in my review of "IRON MAN 3", I had assumed that the release of the 2012 blockbuster, "THE AVENGERS" would signal the end of Marvel's multi-film saga about the group of comic book heroes and their government allies, S.H.I.E.L.D. Not only did "IRON MAN 3" prove me wrong, but also the recent television series, "AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D." and the second movie about the God of Thunder, "THOR: THE DARK WORLD".

Like the 2011 movie, "THOR", this latest film begins thousands of years ago. Back in day (or year); Bor, the father of Odin, clash with the...

AVENGERS HEROES: "CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER: (2011) Review

I have been aware of the Marvel Comics hero, Captain America, ever since I was in my early teens. And I might as well say right now that I was never a fan. Captain America? Why on earth would someone like me be interested in some uber patriotic superhero who even dressed in red, white and blue - colors of the flag? This was my reaction when I learned that Marvel Entertainment planned to release a movie based upon the comic book character.

My condescending contempt toward this new movie grew deeper when I learned that Chris Evans,...
