In my opinion, its Iron Man.He has defeated Odin Force Thor with Thor buster and hulk with the hulk buster and these are the two strongest avengers. Plus , Tony has an incredible mind. In nearly every scenario, its Tony who finds a solution. When the helicarrier was going down , saving NY from a nuke and then in Avengers 2 , SAVING THE ENTIRE FREAKING EARTH . So Iron Man Rules.
Well, out of strength Hulk is definitely the winner. He becomes stronger the angrier he gets.
Mentally, Captain America (I think) is the strongest.

It is not dumb, I personally think he is stronger than the hulk all around. First of all the hulk is only strong when he gets mad the rest of the time captain america is stronger and second of all captain america is mentally stronger than any other defender.
Strength alone, Hulk comes out on top. in a fight to the end, I believe Thor would come out on top, with his hammer being the straw that breaks the Hulk's back. Third place goes to Iron Man, then Captain America at 4th. The two assassins, who are beasts considering they have no artificial or natural advantages, share 6th place.

I would say that Iron Man is the strongest. You will not believe this but he has this metal destroyer that can break Thor's hammer and Captain America's shield . He also has the most powers . Second comes Black Panther -- he has access to some really great weapons like energy sticks. Captain America comes third -- his shield can shoot lightening and fire. Thor comes fourth -- he is after all a god and has his hammer, even though it is low tech! Hulk comes fifth -- he has lots of strength but no brain! Hawkeye comes sixth - his arrows are his strength, but he only has a little energy protection. Giant Man comes seventh . Spider Man is an avenger he would come eighth . Woleverene is an avenger he would come ninth. Next , tenth, would be Ms. Marvel, then wasp, then black widow. Ronin is the weakest avenger.
How about fucking Wolverine? Who beats up Hulk (twice as far as I know, different versions, Hulk vs Wolverine + Old Man Logan), and would surely get Cap as well... not so sure about Thor, tho... but still, all in all, he's the mightiest one I'd know about. If you talk about the movie... well... I guess I'd take the Hulk. But his power is too different from Thors to compare the two...
hulk of course / thor is a god of course ... but in the movie we can see hulk and thor fighting in the shield plane thor in the end was tired and weak ... in a fight hulk beats thor easy he was unlimited strenght :/

I think it's Thor because he can easily stop Hulk with the Mjhinor ,even he don't have the hammer he still can stop Hulk's fist with bare hands.Thor can reach to state :"Warrior's madness" and increase his power 10 times mean 10 Hulks!He can summon Lightning Shrike destroy almost every material,he can fight in months without water,food.
